  • This was another example of how one could go about doing some metaphysics. This time off of the word "therapy".

State of being overpowered can be seen as your definition of partaking in existentialism in "
    What "existentialism" means to me".

in the sense of the overpowering effect of some discourse. 'Existentialism' being then a way to step outside of an overpowering. That would make 'existentialism' as such into a therapy. I can see that

I tend to look at it as just basic problem solving, but the big trick of it is, as with most problems, people don't even know what problem they're trying to solve for. Therapy done right in my opinion would be problem recognition. Once the problem is recognized the steps to solving it is usually straight forward.
Hence why therapists are big on the epiphanies or unlocked memories or whatever. All that reflection is good for the purpose of problem recognition. But still, most people are too proud to really truly recognize their problems. Maybe they learn with age when life roughs them up a bit.

Problems can be very profound, I'd think, for the schizoid, especially if they're interacting with the world entirely through "false self systems" (as RD Laing calls them). How deep do they go? Do they even remember what acting from their own impulse feels like? Seinfeld calls the schizoid "radically repressed". Maybe if one has a very good therapist though.

You are the number one “consciousness” suggestion on my very valued CZcams source algorithm - there is a reason for this but it’s not what I think - take care.

Sometimes I feel like the algorithms be playing with us, like the Choice is being taken out of life. but maybe it can also be convenient, who knows. thanks, you too

@@LoneFarrell i'm not sure i understood your comment completely. But i would say, these things seem like they are being used to control people and not for our own benefits but for something called "profit"

External validation usually makes one happy. Although I don't really know how. It's definitely not like an ice-cream. Validation in front of a crowd, however, is a totally different matter. It's like the act has to be acted out right or they'd automatically issue the most hideous insults. Most of these drugs, in my somewhat crude and non-technical judgement, are various sleep-inducing formulae. I have tried taking them. They don't do crap. I have tried an analyst once. Looked like he just wanted me to acknowledge my true desires and act on them, I wouldn't d pay him to conduct the dialog that I could have with, lets say, a friend or a family member.

I think talk is very powerful. I don't think as a society we have explored its full potential.
I assume meds and therapists can help but I also feel like we're not doing it right anymore. We've kindof locked into these certain styles of treatment that seem to help enough people, and to the one's they dont help we say its a problem of the person, a "personality" thing.
