Inuyasha at this point was just now starting to become even stronger, in fact he's gotten so strong, that at the end of the final act, many people are debating whether Inuyasha is just as powerful as his father or he surpassed Toga in his own way.

Tessaiga's ultimate technique is Meidou, which was also prepared by Touga. Although Inuyasha improves it by giving cutting power (or Tessaiga changes the technique itself), its nature is still relatively the same. So I think Inuyasha is still weaker than his father as he completes the trials set by his dad.

But with tessaiga, he can hold out pretty well against Daiyokai. In fact he went toe to toe with Sesshomaru in a few battles, two of which Inuyasha got him to back off, and then there was one battle where if it weren't for Tensaiga, Sesshomaru would have died or or at least would have been severely wounded. Then he held his own with Kirinmaru for a while. Then he killed ryukotsei. Inuyasha maybe a half demon, but he has shown time and time again (at least before towa and setsuna came along) That he was a cut above the rest of the Half demons. Thanks for the comment man.
I was at one of my hardest times in life when I watched this, and I related to this episode so much, it motivated me to struggle and overcome for the challenge that I had at that time. Inuyasha had to face a monster that his father couldn't manage to defeat, with a sword that was too heavy for him to handle, yet he succeded and he got a new skill after that. So I always motivate myself when I face a challenge that is completely new to me, "if I can overcome this, I will get a new skill".
@@richardgnyc The hell it is. Inuyasha uses the Backlash Wave upon his return and it is the least epic shit imaginable vs. every time he uses it. The attack is supposed to be an end all be all outside of the Meido's one hitter quitter status. When all else fails Inuyasha can take the demon energy and turn it back on an enemy as long as his energy is a match for whoever it is he uses it on. This fight was brutal in terms of what it did. In Yashahime Kirinmaru bitch slaps a poor man's version of this attack. It is a shame was Yashahime does to the animation, action, and pure viserality of the previous series. I get less blood fine. But taking what happens in this clip and watering it down to shite just made me sad. A lot of girls around my age who grew up with Inuyasha but not necessarily for any distinct reason. They liked it because of romantic subtext. Boys liked it because of how badass the action and violence were. Yashahime plays up the latter more but insists on trying to retain the action in the worst way possible.
You know it's funny that in the English dubbed version of Inuyasha the actor who voiced the title character of the anime was the same guy who voiced Tolle in Gundam Seed and voiced Ranma in the later episodes of Ranma 1/2.
I think I have a theory after all these years. Ryu was sealed using Taisho’s fang. Tessaiga broke & was put back together using Inuyasha’s fang because goshenki broke his FATHERS fang…almost sort of like breaking a piece of his fathers spirit if that makes sense? So the tessaiga became heavier as a result by using inuyasha’s fang. Maybe..a true test by the broken spirit of taisho to see if inuyasha is truly the swords new honorable ruler…by surpassing his father? Just like Sesshomaru was not able to attain his own sword or use Tensaiga as a weapon until he experienced loss & realized he had someone to protect & of course let go of his obsession with tessaiga. Thats why his father asked him that! Its all about the spirit of Taisho! Same with his grand daughters! They had to prove themselves worthy to inherit his power! Just a theory tho.
It always bugged me but why didn't Inuyasha's father use the backlash wave against Ryukotsuesei? He seemed suprised by the attack when Inuyasha used it so I doubt he knew about it or was Toga just not able to use it for some reason?
@@williamdunning8856 I don't know especially now that we've gotten a bit more info on him in the yashahime series he didn't seem the prideful type. The only somewhat plausible reason I can come up with is the Backlash wave requires the 2 fighters to have similar energy levels. Maybe Toga's was just too high compared to Ryukotsusei and he couldn't get it to work like when Inuyasha tried practicing on that really weak demon.
Nope. Inutaishou simply didn't go all out on ryukotsusei because he wanted the monster to serve as Imuyasha's power-up. Why else would he go through the trouble of sticking his claw in and seal ryukotsusei up without actually damage it, while a single bakuryuha can shred it to pieces?
Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought Ryukotsuesei was weaker when Inuyasha faced him than when Inu no Taisho did it. Both Taisho and Ryu being weak after their battle, Taisho sealed him and then when he was awaken and fought Inuyasha wasn't fully recovered. It's just my own theory, I don't have any solid proof
I don't care what anyone else says. Inuyasha surpassed his father and defeated a demon that Toga could only seal away, and that is a fact. And for those who say: "Inuyasha didn't surpass Toga because he is using Tessaiga". That's stupid really, its like saying goku never surpassed roshi because he still uses the kamehameha, a technique roshi created. Or that naruto never surpassed minato because he used the rasengan, a technique created by minato.(yes naruto uses variations of the rasengan, so does Inuyasha with Tessaiga). Okay but why did the dragon with the invincible body rely on its ranged attack to much... It could have won if it just decided to squeeze him to death in the first place.
Inuyasha's relatively small size makes that prospect rather difficult, since he can easily jump around and dodge any attempt Ryukotsusei makes to squeeze or crush him. Hence his projectile attacks (which are forbiddingly powerful in their own right) are his only effective weapon against Inuyasha. Yes, Inuyasha managed to block one of them with Tetsusaiga's sheath, but he could only do that once without breaking it. Totosai even mentioned that the sheath can't withstand a second such blast.
I hate how in anime they all have the ultimate technique but how long did it take them to kill maracu or whatever his is. Its just waiting on him to gain a super ultra mega technique

Nope you need demon energy to use it and Goku is an alien not a demon, this was proven when he couldn't initially use the Backlash wave against Bankotsu until his Banryuu became a demon weapon

Also the backlash wave can only reflect the attacks if the enemy's strength is comparable to inuyasha's, it won't work if the opponent's power is much stronger than inuyasha's, which was demonstrated in his battle against Kirinmaru. Goku is far stronger than inuyasha, so the backlash way won't work. Bakusaiga wouldn't work either because it just uses sword beams which Goku can still Dodge regardless, plus once he sees the attack, he will come up with a way to counter bakusaiga, and again he has the susanoo ability. One godly Kamehameha can overpower it as well, since it can destroy a planet, something Bakusaiga can't do. You also got to keep in mind that both Inuyasha and sesshomaru have not faced anyone like Goku, leaving them both unprepared for what power Goku has, And while the same could be said about Goku, let's be honest both him and Vegeta are Divine beings at this point, with abilities that can overpower and killed the dog demon brothers,Like the Haki/Destruction energy, that can erase anything or anyone from existence. And Goku is very intelligent when it comes to battle (even if he does have the tendency to let his guard down sometimes). Sure there are mortals who can catch up to Goku and Vegeta's power even surpass them, but that's because Akira toriyama loves to come up with convoluted ways to make to give a villain power to match or surpass Goku and Vegeta. Inuyasha on the other hand,is a down-to-earth series with unique power scaling that has limitations, something dragon Ball super doesn't have.

No. Goku and Vegeta are both still mortals and are consistently referred to as such in-universe and are still bound by the limits of mortals. They can bleed, bruise, suffocate, starve, age and die. They're actually far more limited compared to the aforementioned demon lords of Inuyasha whom are extremely longer lived if not outright immortal and they all have a bunch of powers the Saiyans don't have. Inuyasha in his own series gained a technique that allows him to what's essentially him firing a storm of black hole sword beams, an attack that ultimately killed the otherwise immortal Naraku who couldn't be killed by any conventional means, and Goku is pretty much entirely just conventional
Just why I don't like retcons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but up until this point it was established and/or implied that the tetsusaiga was made after inuyashas dad died. Because if it wasn't, how did he fail to kill riyukotsei? Except from what they show later he did have it? Sooooo?????
It was made long before his death. He sealed Ryukotsusei with one of his fangs, making it pretty clear he fought him in his demon form. The fang that's seen missing in his skeleton is the same one Naraku melted off of the dragon's body
This is the only anime at the time I never gave a chance. And to this day I still don’t have the interest to watch it. Idk why.. I was watching yuyu hakusho, flames of Recca, early Naruto, bleach, samurai champloo, full metal alchemist but just never gave this one a chance at all
I like this anime. Watched it all growing up when it came out with friends and family. But, despite that, this is one of those animes that are in that area of, "popular and well known, but if you don't watch it, you're not missing anything." I don't know how to explain it really.

Only the Final Act episodes skipped anything and that's because it was more focused on actual important plot points as the manga itself had plenty filler chapters
A huge plot hole here! Inuyasha’s father already had Tessaiga when he fought Ryukotsuei and had it with him right after that fight before going to rescue Inuyasha and his mom. So, he should've without a doubt been able to use the Backlash Wave against Ryukotsuei so it's kind of dumb how Inuyasha managed to kill Ryukotsuei AND get off without any serious injury yet his father barely was able to seal him and still got a deadly wound. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Toga is an honorable Demon, so if he agreed to a hand-to-hand battle only, then he wouldn't bother with sealing abilities because that's not hand-to-hand and would be dishonorable.

Nope you need demon energy to use it and Goku is an alien not a demon, this was proven when he couldn't initially use the Backlash wave against Bankotsu until his Banryuu became a demon weapon
@@digitaladventurer2142 and thanks to mastered ultra instinct goku, he is too powerful for anyone in the Inuyasha franchise, no one will be able to hit the guy not even Toga. Bakusaiga would'nt do jack squat against MUI goku. Goku would simply dodge the sword beam and stomp Sesshomaru. And let's not forget ultra ego Vegeta, Vegeta made up not mastered ultra ego but he will eventually.
@@alphonsejohnson5601 Ultra Instinct doesn't make you outright intangible since he can still be heat by characters who are sufficiently fast enough and even then, he never actually dodges every attack.
For the record, you can't actually dodge the Backlash Wave; because not only sends your attack right back at you, it homes in on you as well _because_ it tracks you with your own energy as the waypoint
As for Bakusaiga, yeah, you're not dodging its sword beams, and the moment even a crackle of its energy grazes you, you're pretty much dead
@@kaihedgie1747 Dude Goku has pretty much gotten better with ultra instinct, have you forgotten that he can summon a susanoo to protect him? Goku isn't a human or a demon, he is a divine sayian. Also the backlash wave can only reflect the attacks if the enemy's strength is comparable to inuyasha's, it won't work if the opponent's power is much stronger than inuyasha's, which was demonstrated in his battle against Kirinmaru. Goku is far stronger than inuyasha, so the backlash way won't work.
Bakusaiga wouldn't work either because it just uses sword beams which Goku can still Dodge regardless, plus once he sees the attack, he will come up with a way to counter bakusaiga, and again he has the susanoo ability. One godly Kamehameha can overpower it as well, since it can destroy a planet, something Bakusaiga can't do. You also got to keep in mind that both Inuyasha and sesshomaru have not faced anyone like Goku, leaving them both unprepared for what power Goku has, And while the same could be said about Goku, let's be honest both him and Vegeta are Divine beings at this point, with abilities that can overpower and killed the dog demon brothers,Like the Haki/Destruction energy, that can erase anything or anyone from existence. And Goku is very intelligent when it comes to battle (even if he does have the tendency to let his guard down sometimes).
Sure there are mortals who can catch up to Goku and Vegeta's power even surpass them, but that's because Akira toriyama loves to come up with convoluted ways to make to give a villain power to match or surpass Goku and Vegeta. Inuyasha on the other hand,is a down-to-earth series with unique power scaling that has limitations, something dragon Ball super doesn't have.

No, calling Goku and Vegeta "divine beings" simply because they have so-called god transformations would be like calling Link a god because he has the Triforce. No. Goku and Vegeta are both still mortals and are consistently referred to as such in-universe and are still bound by the limits of mortals. They can bleed, bruise, suffocate, starve, age and die. They're actually far more limited compared to the aforementioned demon lords of Inuyasha whom are extremely longer lived if not outright immortal and they all have a bunch of powers the Saiyans don't have.
Inuyasha in his own series gained a technique that allows him to what's essentially him firing a storm of black hole sword beams, an attack that ultimately killed the otherwise immortal Naraku who couldn't be killed by any conventional means, and Goku is pretty much entirely just conventional

Just why I don't like retcons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but up until this point it was established and/or implied that the tetsusaiga was made after inuyashas dad died. Because if it wasn't, how did he fail to kill riyukotsei? Except from what they show later he did have it? Sooooo?????
It was made long before his death. He sealed Ryukotsusei with one of his fangs, making it pretty clear he fought him in his demon form. The fang that's seen missing in his skeleton is the same one Naraku melted off of the dragon's body

This is the only anime at the time I never gave a chance. And to this day I still don’t have the interest to watch it. Idk why.. I was watching yuyu hakusho, flames of Recca, early Naruto, bleach, samurai champloo, full metal alchemist but just never gave this one a chance at all
I like this anime. Watched it all growing up when it came out with friends and family. But, despite that, this is one of those animes that are in that area of, "popular and well known, but if you don't watch it, you're not missing anything." I don't know how to explain it really.

@@tatinh9885 It didn't actually skip much of anything. It still followed pretty much all of the same beats and made its own filler arcs in between. Only the Final Act episodes skipped anything and that's because it was more focused on actual important plot points as the manga itself had plenty filler chapters

A huge plot hole here! Inuyasha’s father already had Tessaiga when he fought Ryukotsuei and had it with him right after that fight before going to rescue Inuyasha and his mom. So, he should've without a doubt been able to use the Backlash Wave against Ryukotsuei so it's kind of dumb how Inuyasha managed to kill Ryukotsuei AND get off without any serious injury yet his father barely was able to seal him and still got a deadly wound. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Ya but his father actually in hurry to save his wife... And he can able to use blackslash only when opponent uses big aura... So they fought only physically with hands to hands. And his father sealed using his fang... Just my justification
@@suuuuu06 There's no evidence that says they were only fighting hand to hand in the show. Plus, you just contradicted yourself. Toga is an honorable Demon, so if he agreed to a hand-to-hand battle only, then he wouldn't bother with sealing abilities because that's not hand-to-hand and would be dishonorable.

@@evenindeathistillserve760 I don't think so. Myoga clearly stated it took every ounce of strength Toga had in the English dub, prior to the fight. That means he had to have used the Dragon Twister which was ineffective, unlike the Backlash Wave.
