This is just bad editing. If you watch the match, Italy players were actually concern for Ran when he fell. The clapping is after Ran manage to stand up and walk. Its showing SUPPORT. It’s like “get-well-soon buddy”. It’s great sportsmanship. The health and well being of your opponent is far more important than the game. They are athletes themselves so they understand what bad injury would cost them.
