- This video compares three Etteilla decks by three different publishers. I have showcased each of these decks individually.
Marco's deck is the only facsimile deck.
Marco may be contacted via fb messaging. His fb page is Marco Cesare Benedetti
The other decks are by Grimaud and Lo Scarabeo.
You can really feel the love and magic that Marco puts in his decks! Really lovely
I think he is my favorite. But shh, don't tell the others.
Thank you Marilyn! I noticed that Marco´s version is the only one that allows us to appreciate that originally, the Eteilla Temperance had both the right side jar and ball in white tone (23:04). It suggests me the possibility of a veiled message about mixing some moon components with other sun-golden components.
Could be! Keen observation, thank you for sharing. ~ Marilyn
Thank you Marilyn, I loved seeing the comparisons. Grimaud is the version I love to use, did have the book of thoth lo scarebeo but didn't really like it, (not the kick-start one but a version from 2003)
Mr Benedetti has made this deck look like it truly came from original works whereas Grimauds colours are quite bold to reflect the decade it was produced. Just like there are many tdm decks all slightly different, I would like to one day have a copy of this facsimile.
When using Etteilla I feel like it needs to be kept simple, 3 cards a middle signifation card with options either side. One forgets all other systems so not to get caught up in anything else.
👍 💜 best wishes, brightest blessings to you xxx
I agree with you Claire. With the Etteilla my instinct would be to keep it simple since it's already very complicate. ~ Marilyn
love this comparison, please do a pip comparison too, it's useful to see the color and word variation ❤
Hmm, ok. I wasn't going to, but because it was you who asked, I will. 😀 ~ Marilyn
Hi, Marilyn! Thank you for the comparison. I'm enjoying my morning tea while watching this (I have not watched your previous video yet).
I'm not familiar with the Etellia deck, but i know of him from a tarot history point. Is the deck a system/reading style of it's own? Do you read with this deck? Would you mind doing a sample reading or two? I will certainly do some research, so thank you for bringing attention to this❤
Like you, I'm interested in it because it's a part of tarot history. Though I have my own little nitpicks with RWS, I am finding it difficult to move other systems. I.e., I catch myself using the RWS meanings with a TdM. Looking forward to your review of the pips !
If I attempt a few public readings I'm sure I'll be setting myself for ridicule by Etteilla afficionados, however, having said that, why not? I'll give it a whirl. I have recorded videos until next Wednesday (sometimes I do several videos in one day so I may release videos on the days I babysit my grandbaby. If I attempt a reading with this deck, it won't be released until next Thursday, so keep an eye open for it. ~ Marilyn
@@MarilynFromTarotClarity awesome. Looking forward to it. Take your time. And let the haters hate. And who knows, maybe you'll teach them something 😆
🤣 Maybe! BTW, the readings I did (which will be released next Thursday) turned out pretty well actually. I'm beginning to think Etteilla was just messing with everyones' heads with his crazy definitions 🤣
🎉 thank you
Grimaud still sells this deck :) (thank God!) shame about the Lo Scarabeo, such a beautiful print and the booklet looks amazing!
Ahh, great to know about the Grimaud! I had no idea. I thought it was long ago extinct. I'm really glad to know it still remains an option! Thank you for letting us know! ~ Marilyn
