As a kid I adored unlocking unlimited light and dark jak. Also, I wasn’t able to beat Jak 2 as a kid so when Damas died, it was a reveal for me not only that Jak was Damas’ son (too young to pick up on the hints) but also that Jak was the kid in the first place. I eventually played Jak 2 and everything makes sense now. Hate the random Ashlyn stuff. My child brain completely ignored their romance and didn’t even realize they switched her from Kiera. She’s back in the driving game! If you can get it to work…
I think there was reason for Keira being shafted: her original voice actress quit for whatever reason, and Ashelin was a fan favorite, so they decided to give her the spotlight....even though they got GOATED VA Tara Strong to voice Keira....never felt right with me.
Jak 3 felt like the highlights of jak 2 with a more personal story for jak as all the consequences of jak 2 come to a head yet at the same time I couldn't find myself going back to it as much as the first 2nd or even the true final part of the series jak X because for as great as the 1st and 3rd section of the game are, getting to it isn't really fun and it largely as you said is just jak 2 expanded with really a less sense of purpose. Curious to see your take on Jak X and lost frontier whenever you get the chance to view those.
Cyber Errol was the most infuriating part for me. Erol was so much better in Jak 2 because he really felt like Jak’s personal rival. Erol’s obsession with Jak being the death of him was the perfect conclusion to their rivalry and they should’ve left it at that. But seeing as they resurrected him, I think his problems could’ve been solved if 1. He only commanded the KG death bots since like you said they’re the ones who brought him back. 2. Erol uses all of his resources to only focus on hunting Jak. And 3. Have Jak ACTUALLY fight Erol himself. Basically have him be the personal enemy that Jak has to deal with on his own before focusing on the Dark Makers. As for the Dark Makers, they really should’ve brought Gol and Maia back and have THEM work with the Dark Makers seeing as how destroying and reshaping the world was more their thing than Erol’s. The fact that Erol has beef with not only Jak but the whole world is so out of character for him. The only positive thing I can say is at least we killed Erol for good this time.

I remember the first time I played Jak 3 I was so confused why him and Praxis' daughter ended up together. It felt completely out of left field. I'm glad other people thought the same thing. I had totally forgotten about the dragon fight at the end because I only remember how much I hated the part where you drive through the desert shooting that thing's legs.
Yeah not that Keira and Jak together were this amazing thing but clearly the first 2 games were establishing them as a couple, so to throw Ashelin with Jak suddenly just felt very off and pointless especially when she already had Torn. And I can totally see why people wouldn't like that part of the final fight but I liked the challenge with that and the sheer scale alone was enough to amaze me.

Yo these vids keep getting good, you're making me want to beat all the Jak games on my ps4 again lol, it would be great break from my final fantasy binge that I've had since christmas. But I remember when jak 3 came out and there was a lot of hype surrounding this and ratchet & clank 3 but I was always a lombax kid, you're making me want boot them all up and beat them.
I was always a Ratchet kid too, whereas I'm experiencing these for the first time through this channel, and Jak and Daxter has been awesome. As much as it would've been cool to grow up with Jak as well, I'm glad I get to appreciate for what it is now. I just finished recording Ratchet 3 a couple days ago and it was a blast of course so I'm really looking forward to talking about it!
That's good to hear, I never played any of the jak games except 1 when I was a child until 2018 when I bought the jak series on sale for ps4 and your vids have always made me want to play them although I started to play Jak 2 a bit almost 2 years ago.
Yeah I think I remember you saying you never finished Jak 2 back when I reviewed that. I barely played 1 when I was a little kid, I hated it cause I thought Jak looked weird lol. Which is funny cause I saw a video that Naughty Dog themselves weren't too happy with his design in Jak 1 which is why they changed it up a good bit going forward

It's almost criminal how few subs this channel has, considering the sheer quality of the videos on display. It's a huge example of the algo just being a pile of shit because I only came across this when I specifically looked up the jak sequels.

Also the Metal Heads should’ve remained extinct. Bringing them back full force was very jarring. It’s like what was the point of Kor then? Know what I mean?
Just beat this game a few weeks ago for the first time despite playing jak 1 and 2 as a kid and i gotta say… one of the most dull experiences Ive had playing a video game in a long time
I haven't played any of the Jak games since I made these reviews on them but I will say looking back I have pretty fond memories of Jak 1 and 2, Jak 3 I mostly just remember the bad stuff tbh.
I still think it's really good! It just has some issues that weigh it down for me especially in comparison to the previous two titles, but I'm glad you understand where I'm coming from 😁

Thanks big dawg 😎 With how much longer the videos are getting since like Jak 2 I've been slowly transitioning away from an assload of editing and moreso focusing on the scripting and commentary. It's been a lot of fun especially making this video cause even though it was longer than Crash 4 it barely took half the time to make. I think overall it's just making for a much better, more balanced experience rather than me trying to one up my editing every single video
REMAKE JAK 1-2&3 for ps3 do it like this: 1. minimal races, no minigames 1.5 No fishing minigame 2. No timed missions/escort 3. Krew missions are made easier 4. Krimzon guards unable to go on full alert when hit 5. Lower the difficulty 6. No driving, let us use the hoverboard or walk 7. widen the city, remove cramped areas 8. Health Pickups at Praxis Boss Fight 9. Leaper race is now fair, monks unable to stun and rings removed, the race is a straight 3 laps 10. krimzon guards must not stun lock when you are hit/ no hit points removed when knocked back.
I heard Daxter's actually really good so I'm looking forward to covering that someday! As for The Lost Frontier yeah I've never heard anyone say it's a good game lmao
I love Jak 3 (although my favorite is 2). I don't care if it has some writing problems, or parts that feel like they were rushed through. The gameplay is fun, varied and never boring or repetitive (except that mission of the artifacts in the desert but whatever) and the characters are fantastic (yes, even Veger... although he is a piece of Sh*t). It's a game that I will love forever and that I play (in general, the whole trilogy) very often (literally, the last time I played it was a month ago). No modern game can give me happiness and fun like these PS2 classics (In addition to Jak, also Sly and Ratchet). F*ck modern games that lack soul and variety, Sony, give me back these masterpieces from the PS2 era.
