The fact the media keeps trying to change the topics to issues that don't effect 90% of the population feels either deliberate or a sign of how out of touch they truly are.
Vat on school fees is not a real issue. Neither is a potential capital gains tax. People might think they have to worry about inheritance tax but again over 95% don't have to pay it so again why is the media so obsessed?
Either they genuinely don't go outside their comfortable bubble or it's all a very subtle attack on the Tories. Either way it's just reminding everyone this is the part of the most wealthy and they're content for the rest to rely on the bright new shiny food banks. Relying on the forty new NHS hospitals delayed until the RAAC in the old ones have been fixed.

the French government gives me ( and millions of others) cheques to help me/us pay the electricity bill which is much lower than UK...the French government has a savings plan which pays you 6% tax free... you can pay in or withdraw any time you like.. I always get a doctor's and dentist's appointment when I want and X rays as well. I've been in and out of hospital - a French hospital saved my life.
The State pension I receive from the French government is twice that of the UK's and because it is not very high every year the tax authorities send me money ( a tax credit they call it). Inflation is about the same as UK
and has been consistently lower than that of the UK's for years.
All the shopping I need is in town and within walking distance so I don't need a car.
Rents are low compared with the UK ( I pay 516 euros = 436 £ for a lovely light 47 square metre = 506 square feet flat on the third floor
of an early 19th building with thick walls , triple glazed, over looking a quiet public square with a local café, a shop selling coffee and a big shop selling cards, wrapping paper, objects made of paper etc.
      Tenants are pretty well protected.
The city I live in is a nice place to live, excellent public transport (b including a large tram network) cheap and free at weekends
it'd take too long to explain why the city I live in is nice so I won't.

What happened to 'there isn't much enthusiasm for Labour or Keir Starmer' in this segment of your show? It's the second time in the past fifteen months that you've forgotten to mention it. I'm shocked. Could you actually be about to accept the fact that there might, in fact, be a certain amount of enthusiasm for them?

Maybe it's similar to liking the music of Barry Manilow or Cliff Richard- a firm denial if anyone asks, but secretly you have their albums and go to their shows! 😂

We are now in an era where the Opinion Polls have become more important than the key issues facing the nation. Polling has become big business and is driving almost all discussion. When we add the awful adoption of US style Personality Politics we have created a toxic brew that has delivered Boris Johnson & Nigel Farage and elevated them far beyond their level of ability and competence.
We need a radical revamp of our political system in order to meet the needs of the 21st Century. PR is going to be pushed to the top of the agenda following the 4th July. I would also move polling day to a Sunday or make it a national holiday. Giving the vote to 16 & 17 year olds would reinvigorate engagement with young people, allowing them to have a say in their future. Ban Polls during the election period and fund all political parties election campaigns from the public purse with strict limits. No more donations from big business, influential rich people.
This would revolutionise our system and ensure EVERY vote counts.

It is outrageous that MPs are paid such an enormous salary with lots of add ons and when they are booted out they still get salaries, look at Truss, apparently because she was PM for a few days, she's entitled to receive £115,000.00 per annum. Why? Because they can. A worker, real worker gets zilch. Something must be done to put these dreadful things right. Also ex MPs being made lords should be banned and the house of lords dismantled, they are a waste of tax payers money. A lord is paid £300.00+ just to attend and they begrudge paying some poor soul on benefits up to £200.00 per week. This thievery has to stop. Sir Kier Starmer should start his first day as premier by increasing tax for the people on ridiculously high salaries, reinstate NI payments to fund the NHS, no one will be bothered about paying more for it. Remember boris cut taxes for those being paid ten times their worth, on his first day as premier.

Two thoughts before chickens are counted (1) there is only one poll and that will happen on the 4th July, the rest is bunkum drummed up by another group who are unable to do a proper job and (2) if as predicted it is a low turnout then remember that traditionally labour voters stay at home.
