The 4th round was stacked with talent that fell. So to leave that round without any of Sanders, Gray, Trotter, VPG, Dorlus, McCormick, Mahogany, Brade, Stover, TJ Tampa is absolutely wild to me.
Same, we had a bunch of 2nd round grades right there when we traded out. Nothing against the LB and TE we drafted but I really felt like the safer option was to pick up one of those blue chips that fell. That doesn't happen very often and we were in a great spot and traded down. I feel like this is where Schneider shoots himself in the foot sometimes although the last three years he has drafted A LOT better.
Honestly I thought we would take Tampa with the 2nd pick in the 4th round but could have still got him but I like getting the Auburn teamates builds chemistry with the other dbs
Seahawks did in this year's draft that they should have done last year. Drafting in the trenches.
Pete Carrol never drafted like this it was always random.
Agreed get the lines right first , you cant build a house with no foundations...
I'm a Seahawk fan but I learned to keep my emotions out of the equation. With that said, I give the Seahawks a C+ in the draft.
Great video you made on these draft pics. Well done and very informative laid out👍
Days 1 & 2 = grade A & day 3 = B. I recall 99.9% of pundits disrespecting BWags & Russ class as worst draft of the decade.
Saying both Bwags & Russ wud bust as were 2 small & 2 slow & wud be cut before pre-season.
I think new day 3 star CB's can be found like Sherman & Byron Maxwell
&
New day 3 LB's like KJWright & Malcom Smith
&
New day 3 OL's like Sweezy & G.Fant.
JS has a good record of finding unpolished gem's on day 3.
Most vital to note is that we used our R2 on Big Cat a top 10 & top 20% experienced nfl pro bowl DT to teach BM2 over next 2-3 yrs.
We also used a R4 on Sam Howell who is already better & younger than Nix & Penix & Rattler.
Sam's stats after 17 games are better than Josh Allen after 17 games (eg TD to INT ratio).
We also get 3 guys back from IR who hardly played in rookie seasons
R4 DL Cam Young
R5 DL Mike Morris (OL award winner)
R7 KR/RB Kenny Mac are effectively red shirt rookies in this class
&
Expect huge 2nd yr Boye Mafe type leaps from Derek Hall & Olu, (Mafe was very weak in Rookie yr then exploded over a 7 game stretch in yr 2).
R2 OLB Derek Hall
R5 Oluwatimi.
For some southern boys from hot humid climates, it can take 1 - 3 yrs to settle into NFL's Stormiest Rainiest Windiest City, huge miles away from home sweet home & momma's nice cooking & sweet love.
This is really a 13 man class.
With 5 clear potential stars in
DL Big Cat Leo W,
QB Sam H,
DL BM2 (a potential AD99/Mike Bennett hybrid),
OCG C.Haynes, (a potential Unger/Hutchison hybrid)
DL Mike Morris
&
my professor's brain thinks
some stars will be found from day 3, I recall most 12s saying Sherman & Maxwell KJW & Dissly & Sweezy & Unger were wasted picks. I recall most 12s voting in online polls saying those picks would be busts except Unger, who they said should have been taken in R5-7.
I have a good feeling about 5,
Multi-skilled AJB,
&
Superfast boys Nehemiah P & DJ James
&
Strong boys Satuoa L & Jerrell etc.
Time will tell & we will know more after the pre-season games.
Keep praying 12s. it's how the Chiefs fans ended 50 years of hurt.
If we get only 1 all-pro star & the rest fail, then we had a great draft.
Lord willing, we will recruit & produce more than 1 star from this & recent drafts.
Hopefully these will be HoF's
1- Spoon
2 - DKM
3 - JSN
4 - BM2
5 - Woollen
6 - Haynes
7 - K9
& these will be all-pro's
8 - Cross
9 - Lucas
10 - D.Hall
11 - Mafe
12 - M.Morris
13 - Olu
14 - C.Young
15 - Kenny Mac
16 - Satoua L
17 - DJ James
18 - Nehemiah P
19 - M Jerrell
20 - the PK
21- Big Cat Leo W
Great analysis. Outstanding
My grade is a hesitant “A”, and hesitant just because we haven’t seen them in action yet. Sure it wasn’t a flashy draft, but we already have so many weapons on offense and two solid starting corners (assuming Spoon starts opposite side of Riq). I can understand wanting more redzone threats or targets, but we already have DK, JSN, Lock, Fant, K9, and Charbonnet (not to forget Jake Bobo). We have the weapons, but you can’t throw to anybody if your QB is already sacked/running for his life, and K9 and Charbonnet can’t block for themselves AND run the ball either. We needed O and D linemen, all the small moving parts and cogs are what make the machine go. We didn’t need flashy, we needed efficient. Plus, with MacDonald being on a 5 year deal means he doesn’t have to “prove himself” or win a bunch of playoff games in year 1 or 2. I’d honestly rather see us down for a couple seasons for better draft picks and stars down the line. Nobody should fight to just be good, like Ricky Bobby said, if you ain’t first, then you’re last. Let’s get back to a Super Bowl! Go Hawks!
I kind of like the low grades I remember Sherm and Kam getting low grades.
Great draft class I'm pumped no head scratching at all trust the process people it's gonna be great ! The udfa moves filled the spots we needed can't wait to see these guys competing and smashing around I give the draft a big flying seahawk A , go hawks 👏
Solid B+ just because of unknown factor with 3 of our picks not having a clear cut roll as of now but love the direction we're headed. Barner is most intriguing in my opinion. People thought similar things with dissley and ended up having better hands than expected
About Knight, sometimes you just need a tough tackler. It was a murky LB class.
Well we will see, I do like the first 2 picks.
We finally got some offensive lineman and a good DL guy too.
Well we will see what goes on.
A+ filled every need
That 4th rounder is a head scratcher…
With Jeremiah trotter Jr there
@@batchadirector963Why do we need more coverage linebackers, we have Baker and Dotson 😂 Knight led the nation in tackling
@@JDZWHO for future? Both are on 1yr deals
He’s Macdonalds project he made Patrick queen into a dawg, Mike also started junior colson as a true freshman. Pete was a CB guru Mike is a LB guru
@@Calonge_jayI definitely believe coaches who are LB guru’s are usually the best defensive coaches out there…they understand how to run stop and they understand dropping back into coverage than say a dline coach and a secondary coach
Final grade is A-. Minus cause we could’ve done better with that 4th pick and 5th pick. Go Hawks!
The first two pics are real solid finally, we got a giant offensive lineman. We haven’t had a good lineman since STEVE Hutchinson. They got Oulu last year. Which was supposed to have been the top center in the draft and then they didn’t use him 🤷🏽
I’m gonna go B+. I’m not sure about the Tyrice Knight pick. Jerrell is an unknown so I can’t even grade him. I didn’t mind the AJ Barner pick, cause we needed a blocker and more depth at that position. Overall a pretty good draft. I think things are falling into place. Looking forward to the season
Getting Tj Tampa would have allowed weatherspoon to play inside where he thrived last season also making that secondary great and adding even more height
They drafted three cb….maybe he still will play inside…..
It's still a wait to see situation. Pro is a heck of a lot different than college. Look how many highly touted college players failed in the NFL. Do I think our top two picks are going to start? If they do, it's going to be a rough learning curve. Let's not put too much pressure on these guys. They are talented players. Let's let them learn the NFL, then show what they can do.
I think they are going to take the whole corner group(including coby) and figure out who can be the "hamilton guy" to play everywhere, convert 1 to a true free safety and 1 to a strong safety(probably coby)
I would definitely give it a I think overall it was a pretty good draft I said I give ita
So, that last pick Mike Jerrell, after I did some Googling, is smaller but shows a lot of athleticism. Let's remember, Larry Allan went to Sonoma State. This guy could surprise.
I will wait and watch them play, and see how Seattle competes with other teams. That will tell everything. Until then everything is up in the air.
Yes
the two DBs from auburn ehh but with D hall all 3 of them might be a good duo
Hard to say. Don’t like that trade down so they get Knight over Grey from UCS and the LB from Ohio State. The TE is meh. But they got deeper on o line addressed D line and corner room. Would have liked a WR also. So for now a B-
I agree on all fronts...except I give it a B...maybe B+. We got the two guys I wanted the first two days. They we came out and had Gray and several other great talents around...and the pick is traded. We didn't get a QB to try and develop (I really wanted Milton) and we need someone to work into a WR3 role after Lockett retires next year. Maybe that is Bobo, but maybe we have another option. Lots to love in this draft...and a few things that make it feel like the drafts of old.
I don't think you should say you had a lower grade on Turice Knight and other guys ahead of him. One thing McDonald knows if LBs... AJ Barner is Best blockkng TE in the Draft and he'll play right away. I'm sock of getting stuffed innshkrt yardage situations. Both the Guards are stater caliber players and Sataoa was a 4time All Pac12 player. Twice at RT and Twice at RG. TOMLINSON was a Prior All Pro Guard and 1st. round pick so I expect him to play RG and Haynes LG. The Tackle Jerrell is a Physical Specimen. Think George FANT all over again. This Draft was Phenomenal with the way these players fell to us with teams chasing QBs early and WRs basically the whole draft. SUPER EXCITED for Camp. Go HAWKS!!!
YOU'VE PROVEN ON A REGULAR BASIS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE, SO I RESPECT THE HAWKS OPINION OF KNIGHT
Looks like they drafted what they needed and choosing the best players available regardless their status in college, so i give it an A
Years ago with fantasy football a small 12 team league 1993. I always drafted best man available according to my list. Always in the money also. It's a winning draft formula.
I like the Michigan tight end.
I give the Hawks an A for taking care of what we need asap. GO HAWKS!!!
Just finished watching the first 16 seasons of Heartland still love Hearland and everyone involved 😊
A outstanding
Yes I think both guys start day one.
#seahawks depth chart video on the defensive line? After the Bryon Murphy signing
Grade B only because of the 4th round pick of knight and the div 2 player
We got a stud edge rusher UDFA. Ceaser from Houston. 🎉
Two udfa rbs look pretty decent too as well
Wild to me that Seattle didn’t take a chance on rattler and let him develop behind Gino
Maybe Murphy lets Reed play 5-tech a little more often, gives us some good 4 man fronts on passing downs. DreMont Jones starts to look like a possible odd man out with our Cap situation. Nothing against him and it may be too much dead money but the front looks a lot better.
Jones will be a potential trade chip in August, but he does provide depth and flexibility. I see them running a 5-man front on run downs...NT (Reed and Murphy), two DTs (Williams and Reed/Murphy) and two edge/DE types (Nwosu & Mafe). Pretty exciting.
B, a couple picks were very questionable. Like the first two picks and the emphasis on trenches on O line. Still really need another LB, but no money for free agency. This is a big concern w/o BWaggs.
A couple of head scratchers. Just 4th and last pick. Knight and Div2 player.
Yeah that last pick was a waste for sure
That dude won't ever do chit
B to much cb , but love the all o line
Too much CB? The D line is gonna be sick... w a stacked secondary not only will u not have a weak side, you can rotate and stay fresh. "Too much CB" Is one of the weirdest things Ive ever seen in football opinions. And frankly have never heard it before
@HellfireHellest
Your comment is weirder actually
I read it 3 times now and it actually sounds a little weirder each time lmfao
Yeah I'd have taken a 2nd linebacker or a safety not a 7th round lineman. Other than that pretty great draft we now have an abundance of linemen.
Murphy and haynes were definitely great choices now what are we doing at linebacker and safety I dont see much hope stopping the run with just hopefully knight we need better back end to support this swiss cheese defense edge could use upgrades too it's rough
Brooks left to Miami
And the Seahawks have tons of quality edge rushers
@koalanate5549 the edge rushers are serviceable at best and the linebackers are even worse than I thought
We signed two lb in free agency dude…and Brooks is gone…..pay attention….
@brianmyers4444 both linebackers signed are extremely mediocre brooks being gone means they created a bigger hole at the position
C+
Id give AJ Barner much higher, he will fill in great as a much needed blocking TE
💙💚Bryon Murphy welcome to Seattle!!!!💚💙
The 49ers, Rams and Cardinals are NOT happy about this!!! 😅😂
I think it is a good possibility
migrate is. a
Here how I think our secondary will be woolen at right outside Witherspoon at nickel tre brown at left outside Coby Bryant at SS Dj James at FS then Pritchett will play wherever needed
I'm pretty sure Rayshawn Jenkins and Julian Love will be our starting safties. No reason for them to go out and sign Jenkins just to be a backup they could of just found one in the draft. And Julian Love is the the type of safety that Mcdonald likes. Versatile player who can play multiple roles. He also made the pro bowl last season
Did you forget about Love.
@@BenEnlet29 Jenkins is only on a one year deal and I think this the last year on loves deal
@tylert4170 yeah but if they wanted a back to safety they would of just saved the money and got one in the draft instead of going out and signing a player who is a starter to back up Coby Bryant. Doesn't make sense. And Julian Love is by far a better player than Dj James
@@BenEnlet29 I don’t t disagree with you love is a great player. Jenkins is vet the young guys can learn from, and your right he probably with get a majority of the playing time but them new guys will get a some starts
He'll yes

JOHN AND MIKE COOKED
I mean they cooked the first 2 picks then they burnt the meal and started a grease fire after the 4th needed better linebackers better safeties and more edge rushers
Grade A, tool many top players!
Bobby Wagner came from a small school as well
A Bcuz we didn't draft A Q.B.
UDFA SIGNING Gabriel Murphy and Leo Taylor, Protor we need to get
Y definitely day1
It’s not the draft I wanted but in the end time will tell. I have big time faith in John and Mike and the “WHO” after some of these selections will probably fade away. Who knows, some of these guys could be the big names of the future. I wanted and hoped this year we’d be one of the teams that had a SEXY DRAFT , the kind that gets the “ I LIKE WHAT THIS TEAM DID COMMENTS BY THE EXPERTS BUT NOT AGAIN THIS YEAR.
We really needed Byron Murphy and Christian Haynes but Barner 😳🤷♂️ the guy from TCU looked much better
No Jayden Hicks, the Oregon Saftey Oladapo also looked like a Macdonald guy, No Austin Booker , no James Williams ( who I really thought they would pick late )
Pritchett sounds good, I could see him being a star eventually.,
Our Oline should be fairly solid now with all those guards 👍🏻
B
Who do you want to sign as a UDFA?
We got the kid from UW Jack Westover (TE). I think he could be a lot like SF's FB/HB Juszczyk
@JohnSmith-iq5gy ❤ Me some Jack over in The West but I don't that's gonna be happening though
Shoulda got jeremiah trotter instead of knight
I hope u guys report in season also…
Pritchett will be the returner
Better to grade drafts of the past...it is impossible to know who will be a star.
Should have brought a strong safety.
A for me
Favorite Seahawks draft Pick?
Dj James
Tyrice knight because, players from utep aren't usually drafting and\or that early in the draft
@@Icer-yc6zm that's a bad reason
I think Byron will start and Haynes will be the second string IMO
B+
if they don't start right away they will soon I'm sure
P.S. if you think that TE is Meh... you didnt see him manhandle the UW EDGES in the Natty Game... his blocking skills 👏 are the best in the draft and his hands ✋️ are like Parkinsons... add Parkinsons receiving skills wth Dissly blocking and thats what you got 😮 He'll take over for Brown befote the Seasons over. We also signed Westover, so you got Fant, Brown, Arden, and Westover... Ill take that 👍
I give it a C, i didnt like the TE and CBs(needed experienced Safties)..
DJ James is an Ex Duck(yuck) but hes a legit nickle corner for the Slot... great player actually and both the CBs will make the squad. Looks like Artie maybe on the way out...Bryant get's a shot at Safety and if he can't stick there he may have to be Let go next year bjt I believe Artie is Gone
Have a friend that bleeds Blue & Green? Share the video!
Hawks should have Murphy and Carter…
Should probably not wear a 49ers sweatshirt on a Seahawk segment 😉
colors don't matter
Can’t grade this draft an A, didn’t take any offense. We are still 2 years away
Except for all the O linemen we drafted😂😂😂😂
Over all draft grade B
Worst Seahawks draft pick?
None all filled needs
Jerrell just cause I don't know anything about him or Findlay
Byron Murphy, total bust
@@jaydee5447 no just no
@@barbatosprime You don’t think so?
Aaaaaa I’m a fan even if we suck o-17 I will bitch but end of the day my city my team. Always an A!

A is worthy
The math on this makes no sense to say that 3 out of 8 picks are C's but then the overall grade is an A.
Weighted grades my guy, not all picks are equal
Y
The total grade is A!!!
Having even a few C grades in your analysis of this draft class should not in anyway result in an over all A grade for the class. Don't get to close to the Kool-Aid they're serving at Seahawk headquarters. Just grade the B class as it is.
Weighted grades, not every pick is equal
A😊

WTH Seattle REACHED for Knight. They should have tried to trade up 4-5 spots and gotten Peyton Wilson. Scratching my head on this one. Lets draft 100 DB’s to compete w/a ton of ok DB’s (not witherspoon or love) in HOPES that the anxiety attack of having 200 competing will make one of em lvl up.. i get it. But its OLD. Hasnt worked very well for past 8 yrs. Try Drafting ready or close to ready . Besides few weird picks. Out first 2 were outstanding! Some decent ones on day 3.
