I prefer the Ecotech series stream pumps. If you're going to spend that much money, you may as well get the best. The flow templates, mobius app design, and being the standardized industrial/commercial brand of the Reefing industry. I also like the magnetic driven props as opposed to an internal powered motor that has a cable constantly submerged.
I have both, Nero is much quieter. Mp40 are a couple years old but you can hear the impellers surging.
The Ecotech, while very clean looking are completely lacking in directability.
I personally don't value all the flow templates, they just seem to be there to convince "value".

The Nero 7 is $300.
Too expensive.
