Earlier in the song I used the term "galvanistic," and galvanism is the concept, uh, the obsolete scientific theory that there is a kind of electricity flowing through our bloodstreams, and that was our life force. I used the term because I came across it in Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", and that book is sort of an exploration of the theme of creating a character or making up a person. So I used the term "galvanistic" to allude to that book as a sort of symbol of how I, like, created you as a character, by pretending that I know a lot more about you than I actually do, and also to refer to the fact that I've fall-fallen in love with the characters you've created in, uh, your body of work. This is the part of the song where I start to regret writing it

honestly the people that don't understand that car seat headrest loves to remake songs in totally different ways baffle me. he's been doing remakes since starving while living. i understand if it's not your cup of tea, but don't be surprised by such a change. will's flexibility is one of his greatest strengths as an artist and even if you don't like it, you should still be able to respect that

Technically he's been doing remakes as far back as 1 (Big Jacket originates from his previous band), and the current form of TF (the retconned "mirror to mirror") itself is a bunch of remakes, as it's the third version of most of those tracks. Will has always loved to do this kind of thing, where he'll take a track already released and change production elements or rerecord an instrument. It's what led to the guitar in the original My Boy being swapped out for a heavy bass.
That’s true! It always takes me a little bit to get used to the remakes but I end up loving them just as much and belting them just as loud in the car at the end
J Sutton I think with the original twin fantasy being edited a few times even though it was released is a little different than reproduction a whole song. It's more like he found a typo in his writing or didn't like the way a phrase was said so he made quick changes to the overall piece. Not to say you're wrong, I just wouldn't consider those to be their own songs that have been remade

Dental student here! This is what I learned about it in school:
Galvanism describes the electric current between two dissimilar metals and can result in an unusual sensation in a patients mouth.
An example to give would be if you had a a silver amalgam (A silver filling for your cavity) and a golden crown in your mouth, they both give you a shock if you bite down!
Another easier example to picture would be when you chew on a little bit of aluminum foil and it touches a gold crown or amalgam filling. :)

I think Twin Fantasy is my favourite album of all time in part because of the sound quality. Fits perfectly with the raw emotion and desperate sincerity
Troy Hartmann HTLT is already much better in terms of production than monomania or twin fantasy, so I think i could live without a re-record for that one.
Actually just listened to it with headphones for the first time and you're totally right. I'd been listening to a copy my friend gave me on cd in my car and it seemed much more lo-fi than it is.
True, sound quality effects thing. Like I would love Kinks' Muswell Hillbillies if the recording was better and that's what Will did with his album (taking a lo-fi recording to higher quality by redoing it).

This video is a whole new level of trip when you cross your eyes. When you align the images it does something that you could never do in a video editor. The frames overlap and your eye decides what's most important. When one side flickers, it feels like the input to one eye is going out. Hat domn.

This is a completely different Twin Fantasy. Not just in the sound quality increase, or Will's different singing style, or even changes to the instrumentation. Listen to the lyrics. Oh, and go to the bandcamp version, the song has a different ending monologue.
