A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of those that have come across this video and an even BIGGER THANK YOU to those of you that have subscribed, more to come on this car very soon, work will begin, or shall I say, tlc will begin!
These Satrias are getting rare even here in Malaysia, really.
Oh really? That’s for watching all the way from the Protons home country! More to come!
Havent seen any sort of Proton for a LONG time.
should take it to FOTU.
Oh really? Thanks for watching and that would be a good idea, always wanted to attend but haven’t yet!
Perfect to show at Rustival as well.
@@01jvb yep, good idea!
Well, there's something I've never seen or heard of before. That looks like a lot of fun. Nice find. Cheers.
Oh really? You have learn something here then he he.
It's a nice example and I love the colour and the alloys, this model did really well in rallying and I think that you have scored a winner, I'd be really happy if I had it.
Lovely words Adam thank you! Yes, I like the look of it, can imagine it being a rally car! I’m happy with it when I saw it for the first time and I was relieved, better than I expected really! Thanks again Adam. Will do more videos on this one!
It’s got less rust than my 2006 Ford fiesta loving the colour looks like the car has been well looked after 😊👍
Yes I LOVE the shade of blue, beaut colour! Yes not too bad on the rust side of things! Thanks for watching.
Lovely car. I hope you keep it original as it is, and not modify it.
That’s the idea, original, but some day modify lol…not sure my plans for this one yet, but thanks for watching! More to come!
Congratulations on the car, I hope that it works out well!
Thanks a lot Josh, hope she doesn’t need too much…thanks for watching, more to come!
bonnet stay is across front panel
Yeah my Dad found it for me in the end….oops!
@@Driven247 yes, I spotted it in the video & I was shouting to you 'it's in front of you across the slam panel' but you couldn't hear me lol
We owned a Proton Persona which caught fire after 5 weeks. It was written off but we bought it back off the insurance and fixed it. The flexi aircon pipe had chaffed through and sprayed oil over the exhaust manifold causing the fire. Replaced the pipe and a cable loom. Had the bonnet resprayed and the car never let us down n the following SEVEN YEARS we owned it. It should be a good car, but you might find it steams up with condensation in the winter. The rear light seals are not the best. Nice one!
Sorry to hear about your Proton experience but glad it was plain sailing afterwards and thanks for the advice. Thanks for watching.
Now I can’t wait to see its journey with you. It’s got to be modified as it would just look insane! 😮
Thanks a lot Sian, a few said the same as you, modify it lol!
Thanks for watching, more to come very soon!
A quck vehicle check shows this Proton as having 2 previous keepers and the mileage appears to be genuine. Don't forget to SORN it as soon as you get the V5C. The V5C is NOT proof of ownership. It is just whoever is legally responsible for the vehicle (ie - sombody for the police to go after). With most cars, the Registered Keeper is also the legal owner. A clean, a full service and new brakes should see it well on the way to an MoT pass. It should also be eligible for clasic car insurance.
Well spotted yes, knew the previous owner bits but thanks for checking the car out, doesn’t bother me! Yeah you got it, gunna get some bits done as she’s booked in for an MOT very soon! Thanks for watching! Will tax the car soon anyways I hope if she passes…
What website did you use to check how many previous owners?
lovely motor , rare little thing. not many protons left
Thank you and you are right! Thanks for watching.
Oh I love it. I used to have one of these - Satria 1.3 Li on a 53 plate. It was the car I told the story about on one of your live's years ago that catapulted its stereo out of the dashboard into my passenger's lap when I hit a pot hole at speed.
They are not very fast, not greatly economical but have plenty of character and indicators on the right! I remember mine ran a bit lumpy at one point but a new coil pack sorted it. Aside from that it didn't let me down in the year and a half I had it.
Despite being Malaysian, it's a Mitsubishi Colt (Proton bought the old design and tooling) so that's JDM in my book.
Looking forward to following this one
I can’t forget that story can I? Made me chuckle!
I’m planning on going live before the weekend actually, keep an eye…
Yeah, knew they pretty much the same as a Colt, the Proton just looks cool and wide at the back!
Thanks Alan.
@@Driven247 I agree. I always loved the shape of the Proton Satria/ Persona Compact and always thought those alloys really suited it too. Reminds me of the AMC Pacer in Wayne's World and the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody moment.
I loved my wee Satria and have always contemplated another. I do check Ebay every so often and have been tempted. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with yours
Nice to meet you Amber 😊 Nice proton in a lovely blue colour 💙 decent motors I once had a 1.4LX (I think 🤔) only problem was a corroded earth wire but otherwise it went smoothly! Nice video look forward to seeing your ventures.... Best of luck 🤞👍
Hello, thanks for the lovely comments. Nice hearing about others that have owned Protons!
She will get some much needed tlc for sure, will film more very soon! Thanks for watching.
These are excellent little things - great buy!
Thank you James, glad you think so!
My ex was given a 1 year old Persona by her Dad that she hated. I thought it was a fantastic car, we went everywhere in that car and it did everything we threw at it without a single issue. Hugely underrated cars and utterly reliable. Have fun with it.
That’s great to hear, thanks for sharing. They are a cool looking car too! Thanks for watching!
Looks very good! I remember when my local Proton dealers, were advertising these in the local press for around £8-9,000 pre registered.
Good luck! Hopefully won't be a hard job to get this roadworthy.
Thanks for telling me there new price, hoping she won’t need too much work! Thanks for watching.
I do remember the satria gti you had. If i remember right, it was a 1.8 litre, with lotus handling pack on it.
Thats nice likes. Lovely shade of blue. Low miles and minimal rust. Got a peach there likes. Well done. 👌
Yeah shouldn’t have sold that GTI, ah! But this one is kinda cool as you say too. Thanks matey!
@Driven247 we all sell cars that we should have kept. I am bad for that also. 🤭
But yeah this blue one is lovely, would be interesting to see what comes next with it. 😁
We had the Mitsubishi version in the same colour! They are nice cars - hope you get on ok with it!
Oh the same colour? So the Colt you had? Thanks for watching!
@@Driven247 that's the one!
@@robertngreen6 I like them too.
It looks in a Good Condition and I do like the colour. It seems to be a very good buy to me.🧸
LOVE the colour and the car is pretty cool! Thanks Jamie.
Nice save! Pretty cool csr really, and super are now.
Looks like the bonnet stay is right on the front ... On the slam panel.
Yeah found it in the end, silly me! Yeah, she’s been saved now, so she should be too, she’s worth it! Thanks Chris.
Hi I’m a 1st time viewer and subscriber. I’ve bought about 10 cars from Sliverlake auctions in early 2000s and I’ve never been disappointed b4. They even do parts and there own vans do the deliveries so no damaged parts.
You got a little gem of a car. I think the reason you have spare indicator in the boot is there’s not many of these cars around so last owner picked it up when he had the chance. Good Luck 👍👍
Oh really? I was bidding on behalf of my parents on their the other day but they lost out…luckily as they have too many cars already lol!
Now I know that website is a thing, I’ll defiantly be on there more often!
Yeah you might be right, I was thinking the same, maybe previous owner saw it and thought they’d buy it for the sake of it, pretty cool for me!
Thanks for coming by and subscribing, means a lot, more videos to come on this Proton!
Hi, sorry to bother yous, just wondering do you have to be a paid membership of silverlake to purchase vehicle from that conpany? also can the vehicle be delivered to you ? Just subscibed to your channel and and enjoy watching your content
@@loyalty786 no, not bothering me, all good.
Yes you have to be a paid member, like I said in the video, my membership got accepted just in time! All meant to be I suppose.
Yes again, I paid for delivery and came to my house.
The auction isn’t just for Silverlake vehicles but other scrap yards are there also with bits to sell!
Thanks for watching, will film more soon on this one!
My cousin is a very good mechanic and loved these back in mid 2000s the colts especially he had two toghether at one point and neither would run due to electric issues immobileser
Ah man, that’s annoying! Thanks for watching Callum!
That's cool Amber. I realy like it.
Thank you, I kinda do too. Thanks for watching, more to come!
Is a rare colour for sure, a couple of years before that one was made i worked briefly at Proton in Bristol, they where all yellow 😂 and they had Blaupunkt flip front stereos
As much as I love this colour, I do love yellow! Interesting to hear…thanks for watching! More on this car to come.
Best of luck getting parts for a proton. The bonnet stay is the bit at the very front of the car and the belts that u don’t know are the alternator belt and the power steering bels and the cam belt is behind the grey cover. We used to have a proton savvy come to us and see trying to get parts for that was an absolute nightmare.
Don't they share parts with mitsubishi?
Thanks Rory, found the bonnet prop in the end, silly me and yes aware I said the belts the wrong way around but thanks for pointing that out!
I work for a motor factors, your right, not many parts listed but sure some will crossover and will get hold of some bits I need soon! Thank you!
@@philtowle4683 you could be right, very similar cars!
You can get parts for them in codworth Barnsley south Yorkshire
Oh interesting, thanks for that Rob and thanks for watching!
Looks like that was kept in Grandads garage !
Would love to track down the previous owner or their family! I think your right, elderly owner, left it sat in a garage probably.
Fab car ❤ carry on with all the mods
Thank you! See where this one goes.
A nice find ❤
Thank you!
Good video good luck 😊
Thanks, might need some of that he he!
Spiffy! Congrats!
Ha ha, thanks!
Amber…like your dad, you are nuts😂😂, keep doing what you do😘
Not as nuts I’d like to think as he is on a different level! Ha ha!
very nice car indeed...awesome ❤❤❤
@@qisyaizzia5045 thank you! More to come very soon!
Do a vehicle score and it will tell how long the lust person has had it and it free 👍👍👍
I actually did that before buying the car…like I checked for free, can’t remember now though what it said…think it was a good few years! Thanks James!
I had one identically. Badged a a persona compact. Also had a GTi very underrated car.
Oh really? Same colour! Yeah the GTI is an epic car, wish I still had mine! Thanks for watching.
@@Driven247 yeah same colour. Colour concept.
@@barryjackson8512 why do you say colour concept? That a range of them or something?
@@Driven247 I think mine was a dealer special edition.
@@barryjackson8512 oh that’s cool. How would I know if mine was or not?
My mum had one in red
Ooo, would look good in red too!
What scrap auction was that on
Think it’s just called Salvage Market…thanks for watching Peter.
My guess when you said it was going to be scrapped, I bet it's a ULEZ car scrapage scheme one
Maybe, I was thinking more of an elderly owner, passed away, family wanted to get rid, that’s the feeling I’m getting…thanks for watching Nick.
@@Driven247 Maybe & that could be why the service history wasn't with it as it couldn't be found
@@nickb5391yeah you could be right.
I've never heard of the proton, o thought it was a 2000s mitsubishi colt, looks cooler, lovely colour 👌and instrument cluster is class
Yeah, they pretty much the same cars I believe! Yeah clusters pretty cool actually!
@@Driven247 Ah, okay 🙂, what a gem I love it, will be cool to see trips out on this
@@novicetheaf hoping it will drive to its mot soon…I don’t have a clue lol!
@@Driven247 🤞🙂
A very good looking Proton and l do like blue cars a great colour also rare you never revealed how actually it cost you and 46000 miles and l would say that the cam belt is original because they would have been changed at 100000 miles and it is 24 years old and for a 24 year old car the condition is excellent and you had a Proton GTI wich l used to see driving around many years ago but l do see a couple of Protons driving around after all Malaysia isn't that far from Australia
@@lesklower7281 no haven’t said purchase price yet your right lol. Yes I love blue and have another blue car too!
With a good clean up, hope she comes up well.
Check out my other Proton video too if you haven’t already where we look at the cambelt…
More to come so stick around and thanks for watching this one.
proton is a Malaysian car company, now they own by chinese from china company name Geely..
Knew the first bit, didn’t know the second bit. Thanks for watching!
Do a car vertical that should give info about owners
All good, had logbook through since and will mention that in the next Proton video!
looks ok
Certainly does thankfully!
I think Sarah Crabtree (Ex Bangers & Cash) is looking for a Proton for her daughter
Oh really! Hmmm, thanks and thanks for watching!
i bought your sticker 247 cant wait have it on my abarth im down south east so you see me hey i join ur community by way be cool go to meet with you people
Yes I saw James thank you, bare with, been off work with an injury lately! What Abarth do you have? Thanks for watching this one!
I’ve got a Abarth 595 Turismo soft top in grey
@@jamesamass529 oh very nice! You need to join the BAD Abarth club that’s down South, I go to all of their meets!
@@Driven247 okay great thank you I look into that

Thanks Stevie!
@@Driven247 You are more than welcome
@@stevie007 thank you.
Was that Ayres of Fareham!! We always use to call them pubic hairs of fareham
Yes it is! Well spotted and that’s actually the area the car was collected from as I mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching.
Its called a Satira pronounced Sateera not Satcha
But it’s spelt SATRIA and that’s how I say it…but thanks for watching!
Well I did see other makes of proton around years ago but not that one it must of been a old one owner before it sold on its very clean old car I would clean it up service it and use it as a every day car don't let sit rusting but you're getting your dad's problem with collecting cars I bet people who just to live around get upset with him it's ok having loads of cars but a roof over your head is more important
Thanks Peter and my parents have lived at theirs for years, neighbours are older and they know Dad is the way he is LOL, no harm done.
As you hopefully know, I am more sensible with my Dad, as much as I’d love to own loads of cars (maybe one day) for now, I simply don’t have that big of a space to put more!
I no your not like you dad but don't get like him having loads of projects sitting around just stick to a couple of cars which you want and enjoy spending time and money on the proton use as a cheap daily run around do a few cheap modified things on like a back box on maybe lower it and a few little bits it will be a cheap car to run around it and use your fiat or 2 can't remember for weekend blast around and at shows if you sell it make sure it goes to a good home where someone would use it and enjoy it and not just sell it on if it wasn't for me getting close to getting a place I would of been interested just to do wat I said but it depends on what you would be asking for it as you know I like my ford just can't afford one and not for a while as I've got to start all over again when I get a place but was a good buy 👍
@@petergrinnell2500 thanks Peter, unfortunately I have no need for a second car nor my Abarth technically as I have use of a company van. Will see how it all goes! Would love to mod it, but for now, keep as is and give it some tlc and hopefully that’s all good!
