@@GoldenGrimmettProductions yeah,,,,, Larry knew he was king, I don't think he could have missed on purpose. BB was Larry's first language so to speak.
Dominique really shows his class when he retells this story. He himself was Herculean in that game, yet he’s gracious as can be in giving props to Larry. I know a lot of people comment about Larry as not being that “athletic”, but to me he is poetry in motion for a big man in that era.

Great story & reaction! 'Nique was so underrated as a player. That was mainly due to Bird overshadowing him in the playoffs and how cutthroat the Eastern Conf was in that era.
Nique was one of my favorite dunkers/players of all time super underrated

Watched it live on TV and Dominique was on fire throughout the entire game. Larry came alive in the 4th and buried the Hawks but Wilkins showed why he was unstoppable once his jump shot was clicking. A taller version of MJ really, and fully deserving of his "human highlight reel" nickname. Ended up in the shadows of Bird and Dr J, but one of the truly great small forwards to ever play.
Probably the greatest 4th quarter in NBA playoff history. It was one on five full court basketball. The crazy thing is that Bird had some sort of bronchial infection that made it difficult to breathe. And inhaling was hurting his lungs. Along with two bad achilles heels. Dominique had the signature moment in his career. Something he'll always be proud of. He was amazing.
I didn't realize he had a bronchial infection on top of the fact that his Achilles were starting to give him problems. The GOAT of mental and physical toughness. Bar none.
Another example of Bird overshadowing great players with his genius.

I just found out that Bird had bronchial pneumonia in this game. I mean - we know about the back. And Ainge mentioned that both his heels were suffering from the bone spurs / achilles tendons.
🤯. He earned every penny they paid him.
Dominique was such a worthy opponent.
I like that Bird gave him that recognition there too. A quiet bit of "un" trash talk. 🙂

Bird was a phenomenon! Lol. Most guys would have sat out or they would've told everyone why they didn't play so well. Not Bird he never made excuses for anything! Blows my mind!
Nobody prepared better than Larry Legend. This may have been the best game I've ever seen. There's been a bunch of them. That game four Lakers in '84 was good. The game with the pacers was good when he cracked his cheek, but this may have been the best one
Larry is just like Tom Brady. They may not have been playing their best during the game, but when your team needed you, they could just call on their greatness to carry their team in the biggest spots and carry their team to victory!
