That was a great video. I wish I knew this 35 years ago when i started. I had to figure this all out myself. This is a really valuable video. Thank you for sharing!

Oh I bet! It's so easy to research how to do things nowadays with the internet. There is still something to be said for figuring things out yourself though! So much trial and error goes into creating glass art.

This was so informative, thank you! I especially like the "safety pin" hook for reinforcement. It's more fun and satisfying to make these kinds of things than to buy them :)

I really like the idea of the "safety pin" hook. At first I was wondering why one would use those when you could use simple jump rings, but soldering jump rings to your projects is SUPER difficult (at least for me), as I feel like I need 3 hands to do it, and then when you get one side just perfect and try to solder the other side, sometimes it likes to solder right back off your project! By soldering into the seams, that's extremely easy, which you can then go back and solder that "loop" without having to worry about it falling off!

Made j. r. for jewelry but use recycled chain/necklaces for glass. Great tutorial btw...

If you watch this video at about 7 minutes 30 seconds, you'll see me attaching wire hooks to my suncatcher that's framed in hobby came.

Great video! I am new to glass. Do you have any advice on alternatives to suction cup for sun catchers? I have heard that they can be unreliable but not sure how else to display sun catchers without permanently fixing to the window frame.

Thanks! So yes, suction cups are terrible, unless you're checking them everyday. My neighbor used a suction cup to hang a piece I made in their window, and I watched the suction cup fail twice before I recommended they get something like this amzn.to/3FzrzL0 . Nothing beats a permanent hook, but these seem to be holding up really well.
