Ye its a good idea, cause like you really don't need to leak so much information about yourself cause maybe hackers would get their hands on an Id in the future. However, you could still have a mute button where you could mute those whom are toxic. But in general roblox isn't for kids anymore cause some people are entirely sexual in this game or they would just harass people using their own voices.
The reason why they probably changed it to this is because they well, Want it that so as many people can access VC because of their "metaverse" plan, Also because its generally annoying because theres some people that don't have any ID's or something thats 13+ from what i've heard.

You have to put on the highest communication. Go to Privacy and change all the settings to the highest point. Since I'm from Asia, it isn't available in Africa, Europe etc. I recommend waiting for all the people that aren't from the United States. You also have to go to Security and turn on the Authenticator. Makes it a higher chance to get voice chat. And then I recommend waiting for a few days if you are in the United States. If your in another contitents or countries again, please do note it's not available to get voice chat without an ID outside of the United States.

This is genuinely so unsafe and it really cements the idea that Roblox does not care about its players. There are all types of people out there and if you're going to give everyone a voice chat the minimum should be 16 or maybe 17 esp after all the times when dangerous events happened to kids Roblox was revealed. It’s the parents responsibility to watch over their children online, not Roblox’s. Exactly the reason why those privacy settings exist. Not having voice chat is not going to protect kids from seeing inappropriate things; people are already always bypassing on chat.
I’m 16 too and I really disagree. There are tons of other games with unverified voice chats/talking lobbies. Kids are bound to find dumb shit. Plus, roblox obviously doesn’t care about its players, it’s a game company. It’s up to parents whether or not they want to supervise their kid.

so basically whats happening here is roblox is slowly updating their site for some users and not for others so that if something breaks they can easily roll back the update and have not everybody have the site broken. this is called a roll up update. if you, like me, werent in the first wave then we will be waiting a while to get it

Before you use VC read this quote from the Privacy Policy "When you request or agree to voice based services from Roblox. With your consent, we may collect, process and store your voice recording to provide services and to increase the safety of our voice related services. We may use your voice recording for purposes such as training and improving our filter technology to increase the safety on our platform, except that we will not engage in these activities with private server voice chat recordings of EEA users" This means EVERYTHING you say in vc can be recorded for moderation and "safety" Only exception is European Economic Area players in a private server otherwise you should be very careful what you say

This is such a horrible idea man.
You already have little kids stealing their mom's ID to get voice chat.. But to make it accessible to kids without even an ID for themself is dangerous. 95% of the voice chat users I'd hear are creepy old men who say disgusting things, but now you're going to allow little 13 year olds to be talking with them? With little to no moderation? Literally get rid of the chat filter at this point because that kid can get manipulated into sending in their phone number, address, etc!
so basically whats happening here is roblox is slowly updating their site for some users and not for others so that if something breaks they can easily roll back the update and have not everybody have the site broken. this is called a roll up update. if you, like me, werent in the first wave then we will be waiting a while to get it

I hope they do that feature cause im 13+ but my family doesnt agree to give my passport or id to an app cause they say its too dangerous and risky even tho i showed them .. I want roblox voice chat so it would be cool
I wouldn't do it with an ID since it is really risky and anything you say on roblox can be recorded and linked back to you
Before you use VC read this quote from the Privacy Policy
"When you request or agree to voice based
services from Roblox. With your consent, we
may collect, process and store your voice
recording to provide services and to increase
the safety of our voice related services. We
may use your voice recording for purposes
such as training and improving our filter
technology to increase the safety on our
platform, except that we will not engage in
these activities with private server voice chat
recordings of EEA users"
This means EVERYTHING you say in vc can be recorded for moderation and "safety"
Only exception is European Economic Area players in a private server otherwise you should be very careful what you say

They’re giving out free voice chat without an id because it never loaded or just errored for everyone

actually, once you verify your account i can either take a few day, weeks, or maybe even months, it just depends really.
