If they weren't as good as braces or had too many drawbacks they would have been another failed invention.

      @Recoil816 Před rokem +11

@@saraedan8768 Well, bear with the length of this and I will tell you what to expect, being a normal person and not a CZcams reviewer.
The first tray was pretty uncomfortable... particularly taking them out and putting them back in. I found it helped to take them out sort of in the middle of your teeth or even from the front, not starting from the molars like the orthodontist will probably recommend. The worst part honestly is how insanely sensitive it makes your teeth. It made it rather difficult to eat, almost like my teeth were "sore", if that makes sense. It took 3 or 4 days for it to stop being quite so annoying. By day 5 or 6, I got very used to it and the pain was probably 90% dissipated. Then came the second tray. It was really tight at first, but it only took 2 days at most until I was used to it, and it stopped hurting much more quickly than the previous tray.
I just went and got the attachments put on last week. That process sucked, primarily because of the stupid thing they have your mouth held open with... damn thing was digging into my gums and cheeks really bad. Afterwards, my teeth felt awful. Not awful as in painful, but gross. The attachments feel like you have food stuck to your teeth--grainy, rough, just plain irritating. Then they had me put the 3rd tray on right afterwards. It was very tight, and particularly on one tooth I have that is slightly crooked and sticks out just a little past my front teeth, directly to the side of it. The tray was really putting pressure on that sucker, and it was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like putting the first tray in again, but worse, in my opinion. I was surprised at how tight they were. It took a few days of adjusting, but it's not bad at all now. Tonight is when I switch to my 4th tray (2nd with the attachments). I'm hoping it sort of follows suit with the first two before, and it won't be painful, but just tight. We'll see. Oh, and taking the trays out at this point becomes very annoying. Easily twice as difficult as before the attachments. It takes some practice and getting used to.
My advice is to floss and brush after every single thing you eat, go buy an extra toothbrush and scrub the trays with soap (hand soap will do) once a day to keep them from getting nasty tartar buildup... it happens quicker than you think it will and it is difficult to clean out if it is bad enough. Oh, and don't use toothpaste to scrub them. It leaves a white film on the trays almost instantly.
Anything else I didn't mention, ask and I'll explain as best I can with my limited knowledge. lol

I started with aligners but had to switch to braces because my very deep could not be treated with those.
So yes, aligners are less painful and the changes in your teeth position are so gradually spaced between each tray. However I was brushing my teeth like 5 or 6 times a day as I am a coffee drinker and it drove me nuts.
Now with regular braces the pain is usually only bad the first few days after an adjustment and sometimes wires poke and your mouth gets sore but I only need to thoroughly clean my teeth before I go to bed, in the mornings it’s just regular brushing.
It’s actually way easier to fit regular braces into my work field/daily routines and in my case my deep bite is best treated with them. (I have to wear rubber bands though and also need compliant use😆)

Depending on what your tooth and bite problems are the treatment length will vary.
Some patients treatment may only take 6 months while others may take well over 2 years

Brackets can be bonded to porcelain veneers. With Invisalign its usually not a problem. With braces, sometimes the veneers can get damaged when the braces are removed, so there is a chance you'll need to have them redone after your treatment is completed.

Do you think i can switch to Invisalign?

    • @PremierOrthodontics

We usually recommend giving braces 2 weeks to see if you can adapt. Most patients find that after 2 weeks they are no longer in much discomfort and they are able to continue treatment.

I thought I would try Invisalign a year before I retired. It was an awful experience. I am not disciplined and I messed up. My dentist was upset at me for not being more disciplined. Now my time is up. I will lose dental coverage in a month. But I have these things on my teeth and want them removed. Invisalign did not work for me because of me. I threw $$$ down the toilet. I’m not knocking Invisalign I’m saying do your homework first. I had no idea how it worked. Not a success story.

I didn’t qualify for invisilign but my Ortho said he can’t refuse me if I wanted it, but the outcome won’t be the best smile, I got 2 other opinions, same solution offered. I said ok and I’m 5months into metal braces
It is very discomforting at first, I wanted to cry after the 1st two adjustments. Sensitivity to cold drinks as well, but now I’m good. A few days after adjustments your pain tolerance increases and the jaw becomes less sensitive- less pain but you still get the some discomfort. I take some pain killers and I’m ok.
I’m seeing so much improvement in a few months of treatment. It’s worth it don’t worry.
      I eat almost everythg
      Pizza crust
      Chicken
      Snacks
Chips and I bite sometimes with my front teeth😂
I only snapped one bracket when I 1st got them. Life is good, I’m seeing the change , best decision ever

Please watch our other videos and visit our website. We discuss braces as much or more than Invisalign. In fact, 90% of our patients get braces.
Our goal is to provide information and let patients pick the option that works best for them.
95% of patients can be successfully treated with braces or Invisalign. There are about 5% of patients that one method may work better than another. This is why we encourage everyone to visit an orthodontist to find out which option works best for their teeth and bite, and also their lifestyle.
Invisalign treatment, like braces, takes years to master and we definitely wouldn’t call either treatment option easy.
Both options can work, and an experienced orthodontist can guide the decision on which may work best in specific circumstances.
But, like we mentioned before, 95% of patients can be successfully treated with either option and it is a personal choice in which option best fits your lifestyle.
Thanks again for watching. Hope you enjoy our videos and find them helpful.

Invisalign is like having a razor in your mouth, they cause insicions and sores. Many rough edges , specially if u are using elastics, they put sharp hooks on 2 teeth. its disgusting! they sell it like a walk in the park, buit its a pain! big pain! Plus they charge mroe than 6k for this garbage, when the cost is 500 dollars
