EUROCITIES AWARD 2013 LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana je prejela nagrado organizacije Eurocities za prijavljen projekt »Providing safety and equal opportunities in traffic for children & people with disabilities«, s katerim povečujemo možnosti in zagotavljamo storitve za varno in enakopravno vključenost otrok in oseb z različnimi oviranostmi v promet. S tem sta nagrajeni storitvi LPP "Prevoz na klic", ki omogoča prevoz oseb z oviranosti z mestnimi avtobusi na zahtevo, ter Portal vzgoje in izobraževanja MOL, ki izboljšuje varnost na poteh v šolo. Oba ukrepa smo razvili v projektu CIVITAS Elan (www.civitasljubljana.si; www.civitas.eu), ki ga je od leta 2008 do 2012 sofinancirala Evropska unija, koordinirala pa Mestna občina Ljubljana.

The Eurocities organization awarded the City of Ljubljana at the annual conference, Eurocities 2013 Ghent for the project “Providing Safety and Equal Opportunities in Traffic for Children & People with Disabilities” in the “Smart Living” category.
The award represents the acknowledgement of our endeavours to improve the quality of life of our citizens, namely the most vulnerable groups, and gives an additional spur for the future.
The project entitled “Providing Safety and Equal Opportunities in Traffic for Children & People with Disabilities” exemplifies a good practice of collaboration between the city authorities and its citizens via the application of digital technologies. It encompasses "Demand - responsive transport for persons with disabilities" provided by the Ljubljana Passenger Transport and the education and schooling programme offering the depiction of safe routes to school maintained and updated by the Pre-School Education and Schooling Department of the MOL City Administration
