I've gone through many, many episodes at random. Kaya ALWAYS brings up pedophiles and it's starting to creep into "closet pedo" territory.
Kamikoto, as well as Established Titles (probably the one that got cut), are commercial advertising scams. The creator of both businesses is a Norwegian business man operating out of Hong Kong who has made a bunch companies of the same quality. Look up “Established Titles scam” and the top result will be a good explanation.

assuming this has been a non-stop week to week show, this episode marks about 6 years. CONGRATULATIONS
The worst part about Scarlet and Violet is that, while I’m playing it, it’s genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had with the series in years. The zones are fun to explore, customization is cool, the Pokémon are interesting to use in battle and catch, gym battles and other story-based events are actually kinda challenging if you don’t funnel all your EXP into one set party, and the characters are actually well written and likable. But all of this is tremendously offset by how poorly the game performs and how buggy it is. Instead of 1 step forward and two steps back, I’d say it’s closer to 3 steps forward and 4 steps back. I’m having heaps of more fun with this than I ever did with SwSh, but if you can’t look past the bugs and glitches and stuff like that then it’s an awful game
Nah people need to start giving some credit man. The music was phenomenal the whole way through, actually like-able characters, actually cranked up the difficulty and they made the game open world for gods sake. The performance is terrible but besides that and the awful battle animations I’d say this game is like 5 steps forward 2 steps back.

@@bobbyzeitgeist1842 that’s what I feel like too honestly, for me my copy of the game has been relatively stable with some slowdown but not much to detract from the experience. A testament to how much I like the new systems put in place are that it allowed me to very easily spot and catch a shiny Skiddo (I named her Mayo and she’s as cute as a button) because you can see every Pokémon on the overworld. I’m also enjoying discovering things that my friends who are ahead of me in the game haven’t seen and probably would not see if I hadn’t told them, like all the interactions you can have with professors at the Academy, the results of which I still don’t know and can’t wait to find out. I’m lucky in that I’m able to enjoy the game at those 3 steps forward, but I completely understand and even support the views of those that refuse to buy the game because of how poorly it runs.

7:05 I completely agree, and the funny thing is. Fans HAVE made a great Pokémon game, it was on ROBLOX of all places. Called "Pokémon: Brick bronze" where it had great story, great community building new routes and new shinies/christmas events. It did so well, that Nintendo used a cease and desist on them.
That game was GREAT. Like I see why they took it down, but it still sucked.

Pokémon fans are buying this crap. All the kids I know are playing Fortnite or something. When do you hear kids saying I play Pokémon?
I absolutely love the franchise, love it to death, I just really wish they did better. GameFreak seems to never take feedback and they don't give themselves time to breathe. I don't need a major release every single year. If you're gonna make it a speedy release give it an extra two years to fully develop it. Scarlet and Violet were on the brink of being truly good games but it's overshadowed by a super rushed development and lack of passion or care.
Honestly the games are the worst part of it. The tcg has been fine for the most part (I don’t play it, just collect for the art), the animes go hard and the side games when they come out are absolute bangers. Honestly it’s a shame the spin-offs don’t get more love. Poke tournament was dope.

*Moist critical is in the game and that's amazing
*The bugs are fun to watch
*They made everyone realize how much visually and technically better Xenoblade chronicles is in comparison. Finally Monolith Soft is gaining the recognition they've always deserved

The mention about fan games being better reminded me of another one of S/V's issues.
It's 'open world'... Except nothing has level scaling. So you'll still end up following some type of determined path, because otherwise you'll end up getting your ass kicked.
Compare to Pokemon ROWE, where everything is level scaled. The more badges you have, the higher things scale up. Wild encounters, trainers, gym leaders. And once level scaling goes past where a pokemon can evolve, you'll have a chance to start encountering it's evolved form instead.
All that in a GBA based game.
That Coca Cola analogy was honestly so spot-on. Personally, I’m not super against the game, as watching streams of it is pretty relaxing, but I one-hundred percent recognize the flaws and am so glad that the streamers I watch do, too. It is really broken. I do appreciate the changes that allow the multiplayer, which works well with the whole breeding mechanic so that you can work with others to get the other starters. Definitely just an incentive to get friend groups to buy it together so that they can complete the Pokédex, but it’s still kind of cool. Other than that, it’s very bland and broken. If they refined and fixed the issues, I’d think it would be a pretty good game, but definitely nowhere near God of War Ragnorak; not even close.

It's like playing an early build with some finished assets here and there. You know which parts are unfinished and what is finished with good observation. Now the game is playable, but doesn't mean the game feels like it's polished.
I'm also tired of the opposite where if you had any fun, you're just a Nintendo shill who's a blight on the gaming industry.
It's possible to both have fun with the game and acknowledge the glaring flaws it has. Was it good for this game to release in such a state? Hell no. It definitely needed more time to get polished. The story and gameplay were at least fun for the most part, and I'm not ashamed at all to say that I'd gladly play S/V in its half-baked state over Sw/Sh any day of the week.

I think we could have done with Legends Arceus releasing this November and having S/V wait until November of 2023. The problems being GF rushing to get the holiday sales and their conservative and counter-intuitive work culture.
It is fun I admit, but it needs to be criticized for the horrible performance. For anyone who has played, the huge lake area is a freaking mess with framerates, like holy crap I feel like I'm playing an online mmo with a terrible internet connection.

A voice acted, co-op pokemon game with a bigger emphases on double battles has been a pipe dream of mines since i was a kid playing XD:GoD and how fresh a spin that series was for pokemon.
Not to mention the battle frontier facilities, minigames, and just more updates to keep people coming back.
I mean holy shit just re-release colosseum and XD with voice acting and I'm sold.

Like many, I'll always love the pokemon franchise. It just hurts to no end, seeing how the 5 best selling games in the franchise are the last four, which were all utter garbage, then Red/Blue. Once I saw that Scarlet and Violet was the biggest console exclusive launch of all time, I knew Game Freak no longer has the incentive, drive, nor care in the world to make good games.
Edit: yall need to stop defending these games. Performance issues aside, the story is trash, except for the last hour. The world is empty and over half of the pokedex is missing. 2/3 of Paldea is the same biome, grassland, and the soundtrack is abysmal compared to everything Go Ichinose did. And no, I don't think Red/Blue are good either. But at least they really pushed the GameBoy to its limit and showed genuine passion through making the game.

The level scaling in the non linear open world being set in stone is mid game design, how can a rom hack for crystal called crystal clear have the same concept of challenging gyms in whatever order you want and have proper level scaling depending on who you beat.
Can you define the fun without mentioning the classic formula? Is it because it's your first time experiencing open world in Pokémon? Making sandwiches? What makes it fun to you?

In my defense, I liked Pokemon Shield because I haven't played Pokemon before then since the Diamond/Pearl era. Meaning I haven't touched Pokemon since 2007, so getting a new Pokemon game on a new Switch console was exciting to me at the time. But it's been a few years since then, I've since completed the game and the dlc, and not touching Violet even though I was going to get that one. You guys are right, I imagined how Pokemon games were going to be like 20 years from when I was playing it on the GBA, and yes, they have gotten worse, I hope GameFreak cares one day...

Are the bugs bad, absolutely. They're inexcusable. But you can't write off the shear amazingness of the game because it has its problems
The way I think of this new pokemon is that it's the best game as far as actual gameplay and personal enjoyment goes, but the state of the game makes it unfortunately super undefendable anyways. It's fine if someone says they like the game but you REALLY can't say that the framerate issues and practically missing animations "aren't important" or "expected" well over 30 years into the franchise.

Why would they? This recent game not just outsold, but DOUBLED God of War's sales, in just 3 days. They don't need to do anything different tbh. And they wouldn't be able to pull off a cutesy pixel art game for the Switch like they dod with the DS. People have higher expectations for the Switch and pixel art just doesn't sell as well as 3D, sadly. There's also the fact that they are extremely incompetent in terms of optimizing and coding in general. I'm sure we've all seen how this game cries in existential horror the minute you have too many models walking around on the N64 floor. This isn't just a time crunch thing too, look it up, they have made baffling decisions like having multiple Lillie models of different sizes for different cutscenes instead of just reusing one and them being incapable of porting over certain Sword and Shield customization options, rendering the customization in this new game basically nonexistent.

Pokémon is the ultimate fucking monkeys paw, because fans like me FINALLY got our wish of somewhat changing up the formula, making it open world, having actually decently written characters, but it’s released in a pre-alpha state. It’ll never change, we can’t have both and it sucks.
Ahh the boys are back
This is the first Pokémon game I’ve played and genuinely enjoyed since I was a kid. It is completely unacceptable for the state of game on release though. Game freak and Pokémon need to employ more testers and performance teams. The studio needs to grow and recruit a little more talented people. Hopefully they learn there lesson and try harder.
We _are_ the testers. That’s what the Pokemon Community refuses to understand. Day One-ers and people who preorder games are a big part of this problem because GF has no incentive to make the game halfway decent on launch when they’ve already made their money back in spades long before the community realizes the game doesn’t even run properly. Then they look to the player base to provide the bug reports; this practice is obviously _much_ cheaper than hiring beta testers.
This isn’t exclusive to Pokemon. Many developers are taking advantage of this, especially nowadays with the growing number of people who seem to accept games not being fully operational Day One as a fact of life, which is BS. Games pre-digital era were never perfect and there are always exceptions to the rules, but most of them were, in fact, published in their entirety on Day One.

The boys don't realize that Pokémon already has a subscription service. It's called Pokémon Home, and it holds your transferred Pokémon hostage if they aren't compatible with other games you want to trade them to. You can't even transfer them back to their original games. It's basically sanctioned ransomware.
Edit 2: The original edit said that your pokemon got deleted if you stopped paying for the service, but apparently I was just misinformed about that. My bad, I'll give them a bit of credit there.

Did you experience that yourself or did you get info second-hand? Because when I lost my credit card & got it replaced, I forgot to change the card & Home subscription service was cancelled but when I re-activated it, my Pokemon were still there.

RuneScape is almost literally an endless grind fest, but it’s also somehow an absolute classic.
Family couldn't afford nintendo consoles when I was a kid so I only started playing pokemon on 3ds and switch starting from Moon then sword and arceus. The shift in quality from moon, which people apparently hate a lot while I quite like lol, to pokemon sword is so disheartening. I love the trainers, they're interesting characters, but it's not enough to cover up the hot mess that is the story and boring gameplay.
I think the critique here is pretty accurate. I was on the fence about buying the game, ended up biting the bullet. I am happy the direction the game is going, and the storyline was surprisingly interesting, and I am still having a good time in the post game doing raids, building a competitive team etc. That being said, it is far from a finished game. The graphics, performance, lack of depth in general is downright embarrassing and pathetic, from the largest selling media franchise (Pokémon) ever. There is no incentive to make a better product because they will continue to break records every release. I don't think we'll ever see a game that will be marginally impressive.
And you are the reason they keep making shit pokémon games. You were on the fence but you bought it anyways just like every other pokémon fan.

I think if they added some sort of nuzlocking options at the start (like random encounters, random moves, etc, etc , removed the EV system to the end of the game for competitive players, had a more challenging main game and battled the gym leaders in any order; levels scaled to match your Pokémon, and obviously hitting a decent fps. Then they already have something fun
I would love to see Charlie play a romhack like Radical Red or Inclement Emerald. Not sure if it'd be his thing but I think a Pokemon fan game that's actually challenging and has a wide roster of Pokemon would be entertaining to watch, and entertaining for Charlie to play.

I believe the reason the new pokemon game is selling so well is because they changed the format. In the new one you don't have to stick to the linear path of fighting the gym leaders and become the champion. You can choose your own playstyle. At least that's what the trailer was suggesting.
