I don’t think it’s dying, I’ve seen these videos saying this for awhile! I’m 37 and just got into Minecraft 2 years ago and going strong. There are a lot of smps and friend groups going strong still with mc content. For example Solidarity channel is exploding rn and that smp is going strong. I don’t think it’s dying, maybe it’s just less kid focused or PvP focused. People are still discovering miencraft and enjoying old content and new content.
No matter how much you deny it as a person who has been playing from 1.7 it was at its peak at 1.16 same way PewDiePie and dream and other CZcamsrs revived it then it started going bland , same way after 1.16 it’s started to go bland again and a big update is needed to revive it

stuff like the trial chambers and ancient cities are cool but are just side quests. last updates and the best ones were ones that changed the game, eg 1.13, 1.16, 1.18
2:22 The 1.21 update can seem a little small, with basically only the trial chambers and crafter (which are both still incredible), but Mojang also made a lot of positive changes on commands and datapacks in 1.20.6 and 1.21, so personally as a datapack maker, I think it's one of the best updates of all time. For those who are wondering what those changes are, here's a quick summary : They added macros to datapack which allow us to make a lot of amazing things that were not possible before. They changed nbt's and added a component system which is better in my opinion. They added custom crafting with components, so you can now make a datapack with a custom recipe that gives you a custom item (with customModelData etc). And also about a year ago they added item displays, block displays and text displays which are really useful.

Minecraft aint dead, I've been getting back into it and playing a lot of solo and some multiplayer, may not be super popular as much, but I still value the nostalgia more than everything.
I'm someone who has watched thousands of hours of Minecraft CZcams over the past 4 years, but I didn't start actually playing until 2 years ago and I'm just a beginner to average player.... I honestly have been gravitating to the first time playing minecraft or more laid back let's plays as opposed to the 100+ day, skyblock, hardcore, etc series. But I also didn't watch when the videos used to be laid back and unedited, so I'm probably in the minority of wanting that experience now. I'm definitely playing and watching minecraft more than ever now though.
The only thing I can say that has fallen off for Minecraft videos is note block songs. People use to make insane note block videos compared to nowadays which is a lot of copy and paste of simple songs.
That is so annoying how people don't understand the core difference. What people dispise about modern Minecraft CZcams isn't the super edited, it's the lack of personnality that the creators have. A robot could do sb's videos and No One would notice. I watch sb because I like the content, but I despise most of his opinions. I am not nostalgic for nothing. It is just plain obvious that the core has changed
I think the new standard is great. Creators need to compete to edit well and make a good story. It brings Equity because only the deservant get big. Also, I personally think it gives even more opportunity to growing channels.
To be fair, most of the new highly edited video is for the new generation especially for those who has low attention span which most of the newer generation unfortunately does.
Minecraft videos today have better quality and content, The problem with them today is that some of the most popular ones are unoriginal, and if there is an original video it is often drowned out or stolen by other channels. Most videos back then were more original and hit differently than videos do today. However, this doesn't make them better than videos today.

In my opinion is that Mojang and Microsoft destroyed multiplayer during 1.19 era due to a certain feature mojang and microsoft have added. That why minecraft has fallen off. Single player is the only thing that keeps me playing the game once a year.

Kinda see why they'd say that, Legends like Techno(rip) and Dream carried Minecraft for Years but after Techno passed and Dream stopped uploading frequently its popularity plummeted which the end of the pandemic had a bit of smth to do with it and when horror became popular everybody did it which made it get boring real quick, Forgelabs manage to pull it off like Dream manage to pull off manhunts, i dont think its the game rlly but its the chemistry of the players like Dream and his Friends and Techno and his enemies have, RekRap manages to do it with almost everyone since the guy is friendly and funny and his last couple uploads were trending, then theres the content most stuff are too repetitive and unoriginal and even if its original it doesnt necessarily make it good or interesting
I would say that we are lucky for even getting an update every year, and if every update was something huge, then minecraft wouldnt feel the same in a couple of years and its better to just add little changes every year so the game doesnt change completely in a couple years
