It was so nice seeing your old house again. Moving out does come with some nostalgia. But as you said, your life has gotten even better now with Keegan so there really isn't any sadness about leaving. And it's still yours and Lucy's. What a great investment.

Oh fun. I'm so glad to be a part of your therapy team 😅. It was lovely to see your home again, Joel. And I'm so glad you got the chance to do this, it's really nice to be able to say goodbye in a good way as you transition this to a rental. Also glad your rented didn't take your matters, as I've just had a renter move out who is costing me a lot in repairs and replacements. Yay for getting to watch more and hopefully get to see Lucy again too. Thank you again for sharing so much with us.

This was a great nostalgic video and loved seeing little Ava 🥰. Actually seeing little Ava inspired me to get another dog. I lost mine about 5 years ago and haven't wanted to replace her. I'm now getting two 9 week old Cavapoo puppies this Tuesday! This vlog reminded me I'm about to lose all my freedom, no more going to the bathroom alone ! 🙃
I'm impressed. Hope to see Lucy in the next video. Miss her.

Life is all about change and growth. You have grown so much in the past two years. I felt almost as nostalgic as you appeared to be in the video as you walked through the house.
This vlog was entertaining and inspirational. You’re moving in with your life as I am. We had different experiences in 2023. In 2024 I am focused on me and my surroundings. In 2023 I was traveling a lot and I think it was a way to avoid dealing with things close to home. I hope I can sustain this focus throughout the year. Stay well.👍🙏😎

I hope renting the house goes well for you and Lucy. It would be nice to pay it off and have a bit of income from it once it’s paid off.
Look into short term rentals to tourists. You are then able to use the home whenever its available.

Great video! Taking the bed apart looked like a major pain! Great example of what I like about my folding bed....it was a pain to put together, but next time I move, I don't have to disassemble it...I can leave it folded, and carry it to the truck on a dolly (a platform on a roller or on wheels or casters for moving heavy objects, not sure if the British call it that). Then I have a Japanese style futon (made in San Francisco) that folds up, and I can attach a strap, and carry it to the truck by hand 🙂
I laughed so hard at your confusion about the mattress, when you blogged about getting rid of it in one of your past vlogs when you moved out. 😂 I love you, Joel!
I learned via a friend that there's botox for headaches and it's totally a medical procedure! And she has trouble getting people to understand it's not cosmetic or for vanity. It was great to see the house one last time and I agree with you regarding putting money into the house that you get from renters!
Thank you for this comment! My 18 year old daughter gets headaches on average every 2 weeks, lasting a couple of days. We've had her eyes checked, taken her to the dentist to see about TMJ or teeth grinding, and we can't figure it out. I've never heard about Botox helping headaches. I'll definitely look into it!
@@shawnmarie459 No problem! My friend has been going through testing, herself, and through research learned about the botox. I can't remember how much she said it costs, but she was so desperate for relief and willing to try it.

Joel I grew up in a triplex and rented the other 2. This was the rough rule. Jan to March or so plays the house taxes and all our utilities for the year. Tenets pay for their out. You get to use all the money though summer. The fall money was saved for improvements. Every summer you use last years savings. Some years you skip a few summer to pay for a large expensive job like a few new windows. If the math does not work then you adjust the rent.
I so miss Waitrose since moving back to Wakefield. I now stock up when I visit girlfriends in Newbury.
Love these types of videos, Joel. My introduction to your channel was when you just purchased this house (in that video you gave a tour of your prior rental). Too bad you didn't have a "boot sale" in your front yard to sell the leftover household items. FYI: You might need to get a longer t-shirt, just sayin'.

As you get older, any extra light causes glare and a distraction when driving, even in the car. Wait until you hit your 50s! 😮
50 person here. 👋 My eyes have been horrid since childhood. 😅 Seriously, though, I've learned that yellow tinted glasses are great for night driving. They cut the glare and help fight fatigue.

Joel, you need to leave a towel and paper towels in the car, that way if one of you are eating you can cover the area, like the seat Ava got the whipped cream on.

This is, though, one of those lifetime transition points, and most of us I'm sure can relate. Certainly crusty 56 year old divorced, belately out of the closet, guys like myself can. I expect to have one more major move ahead in my life, like you, northward, but American style, lol. I have to get out of this RED state/Bible Belt regressive Louisiana and get myself to solidly Blue-state(but still affordable) Illinois.
I used to prefer the Southern climate, but following years of gradually hotter summers, last summer's killer heat wave was a wake up call.

Hey Joel, couldn’t you just have slept in Lucy’s bed for a couple nights since Lucy was leaving the bed anyway? Glad you powered through the clear up and clear out. I was also wondering why when you were trying to buy the house up north that selling this property to give you extra equity to put towards the purchase?
My Dad used to tell us kids it's against the law to talk in the car while driving in town. We believed it! Lol
Not trying to be a Daren, but having the light on in the interior means your doing something that is taking away from being 100% Focused on driving, which is only fair to other drivers because one wrong move and it can cause alot of damage. I drive for a living and the last thing I want to do is cause anyone else harm, but that is just me. Drive safe :)

Portable Appliance Testing. Anything electrical and portable. So toaster, microwave, kettle, TV etc

I get why you're so self-conscious about wearing your spectacles, but you have no reason to be. All I want is that you're safe...plus it looks good. I've been wearing specs for more than 20 years, and contacts aren't really an option, laser is a bit expensive. I always shop around for the perfect frame, then decide where I will have my eyes tested... with a frame I love, as it will be part of my face for at least 2 years... Wear them with pride, you look great either way. To be honest, I feel a bit naked without my specs, plus I used to be able to pull it off an go out without them, not anymore. 😂❤
