Some of us race cars. We race coconuts🥥 . Some of us go to Disneyland🎢. We go and work the land. All are good in their time and one day we will race cars and go to Disneyland. But for now, this is the life we live and although it’s not always easy, it’s quite simple and blessed. Welcome to our Fiji and thanks for joining us on the journey we take as the Waka Family.

What a peaceful place this is! It must have been the best decision for you as a couple to move back home and raise your kids away from the hassle and bustle of the big city and all the toxicity that comes with it. The water looks so clean and inviting, especially in this scorching western heat.

One thing I envy about kids is that they could go everywhere w/o shoes with no fear. That was me when I was about the boys age too, but now it is very stressful to go barefoot. grrrr

Appreciate the talanoa over leaving the village. My Dad and uncles from our village and surrounding villages left Fiji in the 80's all looking for opportunity and none of them were able to return and start those business to enhance the village. I hope to return one day to fulfill that part of the legacy with my cousins.
