      Don't call me 'Sir' please :).
      Yes, I assume that you can easily give most of your time to preparation as you are in college. 10 months is more than enough for google preparation.
      I will create a separate video on the preparation side.
      But for starters, make sure your DSA fundamentals are clear. Start participating in online coding competitions on codeforces or some other online judge. You can also cover interview-bit as well. They have got some good questions.
      Also, cracking the coding interview book is quite a recommendation.

    Congrats on the offer! Can you please shar what would be the best way to prepare for the android stuff?

    • @100GB
      @100GB  Před 3 lety +2

      I would say the best way to prepare for android is to get a lot of significant experience. If you are applying for android specific role @ google, you might expect 1 android interview which will most likely be an android app design round where you will be asked to design (& code some parts) of an android app.
      You can only do it correctly in an interview if you have developed 3-4 apps and put on play store. Mentioning "play-store" because the apps should be production quality so that you have a deeper understanding of why you did what you did.
      So, build apps & try to reason every new technology you use in the app. For example, if you are using kotlin, co-routines, hilt, other jetpack components; you should be well versed with the reasons of using these. You should know what would happen if you don't use these.

       @100 GB Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. I've been an android dev for more than 7 years and have developed multiple apps that are on the play store and have millions of users, should not have a problem in this round, but we will see (fingers crossed)

Am I thinking this correct? Should I try to switch back to native Android app development keeping in mind that my goal would be to get into a FAANG?

      1. I don't have a count. But almost all questions from Cracking the coding interview Book and some contests on codeforces. What I will suggest is that if you feel you lack in certain topics. Just pick that problem set ini geeks for geeks and sweep it entirely - like I did for dynamic programming.
      2. For rapid fire questions: DSA only!

      Have you tried reaching out to google recruiters with publicly available emails on linkedin? This seemed to work for me. You could just write an email introducing yourself, your skillset etc and asking if there are any positions they could possibly refer you for. Try to be as polite as possible in the email. Recruiters love that and are pretty receptive for the most part to that.

      Hi S Tech.
      Please don't make 'getting a job at google' your life. It is a goal worth chasing but shouldn't be the ultimate goal.
      Try to be a good software engineer and everything else is almost secondary. For now, I would say focus on your JEE/NEET entrance. Well, college shouldn't really matter but the sad reality is that it does matter a lot. If not for the tag, it helps a lot in one's personal development because the kind of exposure & environment (peers) you get in the top tier colleges you won't get it anywhere else.
