Outdoor Vitals Fortius 1p tent. Is this just a Gossamer Gear copy or an upgrade???

Thanks to some amazing fortune, I was able to get my hands on the OV Fortius 1p tent to test. I have had my eye on this tent for a while, and I’ve really just thought it looked like a copy of the ever popular gossamer gear the one tent. I have another video on my channel already reviewing that tent which I will link below. If you’ve watched it, then you will know that I really do love that tent, but it does have a few issues, the main one being that with the new models they actually made them smaller, as well as it being quite the wind sail…
This tent appears to fix some of those issues, and actually looks to be way more than just a copy, but possibly a great upgrade option. Below are the links to both the Fortius tent and the gossamer gear tent for spec comparison, as well as my review of the GG tent for reference.

This looks like an exact copy of the original GG One made with the spinnaker fabric, only addition are the side panel tie-outs. I am still using that original One to this day, resealed it with thinned silicone and will keep using that shelter. Bought it second hand for 90 euro and weighs 22.7oz. with 6 stakes and polycro groundsheet included.

It is close, but does have some slight improvements over the GG tent, in my opinion. Of course that depends on your ultimate goal with the tent as well. Still love my GG the one!

Great video. I've been wanting to try some OV stuff. They seem like good dudes and genuinely want to make quality stuff . I prefer the tarptent notch is my go to treking pole tent. Just "upgraded" to the poly fly version. We get a lot of rain in Washington and not having sag is nice. It's a little tight on the sides, but it's super long (im 6'2) and fully double-walled at 28 oz.
