Tip for a dishwasher: position your plates, bowls, etc. upside down so they don't collect water. Don't worry, they'll still get clean! Hope you're enjoying your new apartment :)

So happy you're loving your apartment! A tip for the dishwasher is to have the bowls facing down, instead of up! That way if they catch water they can drain out before the drying setting starts!

Pro tip: the milk frother you have can make «cold froth», so its perfect for iced coffee and matcha.

I absolutely love how you show (almost?) every single thing you buy, where you put your things, things you learn, things that you feel excited about. Like it really makes me empathise a lot more with you are your process, and I feel like I live your excitement with you, and I love it.
Get yourself a nice plant! It’s amazing how much having a living thing, even a plant, with you can help with the loneliness and it will help keep the space from feeling stale! (In my experience with living alone, having plants has always helped keep spaces lively)
Wash your bowls opening down so that they won’t fill with water! And yes- right when they’re done they will be hot!
“It feels like a hotel room with all my stuff in it” I FELT that lol when I moved out I felt like I was at a weird camp or staying out of town for like the first whole week !!

When I moved out of my house at 18 I was also clueless with most adulting things including grocery runs lol. I’m 23 now and I have found the best way to do grocery runs is plan out your meals and then write down a list of all the ingredients you need. I usually include staples like snacks, fruit, drinks, quick meals (salads, frozen dishes) and bam you have a whole fridge full of food for the next week or so!
So glad you got your new place and can’t wait to see how you decorate it!
My opinions on GG: I’m also a hardcore OG gossip girl stan but I’ve watched the new one too
I think that there are areas of the show which are obviously very similar to the original but overall it is just like a completely different show both plot wise and when it comes to vibes.
I completely agree. I think if you go into it expecting it to be the same show you’ll he disappointed but it’s definitely a good show in general

Tip: If ur dishwasher has just finished leave it open for a bit so it can cool down. Also the excess water is bc ur supposed to put ur bowls upside down (don’t worry they will get clean) :p
i’m so proud and excited for you being out on your own. i felt the meltdowns which kinda brought me comfort to see (sounds weird) because when i moved away for college all i ever saw was everyone happy & ready to move out but it was so hard on me so seeing someone else feel like me after leaving home for the first time makes me feel not so alone! This video is so comforting to me. This summer i’m moving away and transferring to college out of state. I’m so excited but so emotional and I felt silly. Seeing you (who’s older than me) is like seeing a big sister move first which brings me so much comfort. If you can do it I can do it. Getting excited about appliances is the epitome of adulting. Having so much fun watching you in this journey. In my first apartment we made tacos the first night then realized I had no knives to cut the lettuce and tomatoes. I ended up using scissors. Lol.

Yes Ava!! I just moved in to my own place on my own and also felt very overwhelmed / sentimental! It gets easier and soon you’ll feel really at home! I’d say once you’ve had friends / family over a couple of times that really helps and once you know where everything is too 🌞🌞

I live near you. Great, great location, except at night. Even though it's a pedestrian heavy area, we avoid walking the neighborhood after dark. And you called it, you will tire of the sirens and other city noises in time but just keep your sliding door closed and it's okay. Thanks for a peek inside that building.

I remember the first time I moved out for college. I spent the first night alone because the friend I was sharing the apartment with hadn't moved in yet and I just remember it feeling so surreal and out of place. It felt sooooo weird. Getting out of the apartment and sticking to things I was used to helped a lot.

I’ve been out on my own for 10 years now and I still call my dad for help with stuff. It’s the best! Lol Also if you’ve never tried a meal delivery service like hello fresh or blue apron, I think that’s a great starting out point when you first move out to learn and practice. Love the moving videos! When my husband and I moved out on our own for the first time we moved my stuff into our apartment a month before we actually moved in and I didn't have any furniture but I stayed a few days a week at the apartment and I cooked for myself used thick blankets on the floor to nap and I cleaned everything and organized things into corners of each room until we got our furniture.
