Somewhere along their family tree, someone did something to earn his wealth, and it was that persons wish to keep his wealth and pass it down to his family so that his lineage can be wealthy forever. If one were to do the math, one would deduce that it is quite impossible to obtain such levels of affluence by being a career politician. Alfred Jones Nothing is wrong with Jon Stewart. It is the people who watch him that have something wrong with them. I find him funny, but there is a very large majority of young people who get their news from him.... a comedian..... on comedy central. See the problem there? true, he does cover some current events, but not in a way that anyone could say they are informed. (And that is not even taking into account his political leanings and how people do not look at the subjects from both the political spectrums)
catmani2 I'll agree that Stewart shouldn't be the only news source young people get their news from, but if you were to just get your news from any one source, be it CNN, FOX, MSNBC, C-SPAN or NPR, they all have their own agendas and bias. Jon Stewart has some real interviewing chops and as he's held Presidential interviews (past & present alike) and as a (previous) top Forbes most influential man, I would highly disagree if you were to say he wasn't just as much, if not more so, a "real" or credible news source. I think the larger issue is if viewers can pick apart the satire, identify political leanings and discern fact from fiction from any news source to use it to make informed decisions and opinions.
And, most of his viewers(sadly voters) cannot discern the difference. The very same folks who by watching Tina Fey, are still convinced that Sarah Palin said "I can see Russia from my porch."
