My guys told me someone actually put out a Drippy Corn video that was spot on, and I had to come and see for myself.
Good job PGT! You included the entire tek, there werent any parts missing. Even though you didnt use the vermiculite, you at least talked about it. So, kudos brother. Ive only seen a couple other Drippy Corn videos, and they were always missing parts of the actual tek, you included it all.
Also, youre the only one to give credit to @Stunnin21 for creating the Drippy Cork Tek!. I appreciate not only the shoutout to him, but to me as well 😁 I had very little to do with the creation of the tek (helped with the sterilization run time, adapted it to feed corn, and now in the process of adapting it to an instapot tek) but I appreciate the time and effort to include us on your video. I dont know that Stunnin21 does CZcams, he is mainly an IG guy, but I will make sure to send him a link to this video.
Keep on keeping on my guy 🤘
Edit: a few notes for the viewers.
1) Its not about infusing the corn with your glucose supplement, merely coating the kernels.
2) It is recommended that you use whatever glucose source you are already using in your LC and agar. Its about providing the mycelium with a familiar food source, which eliminates its adaptation phase to the grain, and hastens colonization. We call this the "jump off".
3) The amount to add to your kernels during the forced hydration phase is 1/4 cup per 4lbs of grain
4) The grains only need to dry for about 30min. You dont want them dry, you actually want them a bit wetter than you would want with other grain teks.
5) The implementation of vermiculite is a key part to this tek, and why you want your grains somewhat wet when you jar/bag them. Although the vermiculite does help regulate the moisture in your jars/bags, one of its main purposes is to retain moisture for the mycelium to utilize during its colonization. This helps keep your grains hydrated for the spawn to bulk phase, as the mycelium robs moisture from the vermiculite instead of from the grains, making your "jump off" from the grains to the sub hastened as well, since the grains are sufficiently hydrated and already primed to be the food source for colonizing the fruiting block "cake".
6) The sterilization phase is a 2.5hr run, not 90min. The elongated sterilization run guarantees all the endospores are dead and your grains to be 100% sterilized. If done properly you will likely never get another tam at the grain phase, as long as your inoculant is clean. This tek, by far, has the lowest rate of contamination of any grain tek Ive tried, and Ive tried damned near all of them.
7) I wouldnt suggest deer corn, rather feed corn. Deer corn has toxins in it that does not make them ideal for this application, deer corn contain Aspergillus Flavus & Aspergillus parisiticus which produce a toxin called Aflatoxin. So, feed corn, not deer corn.
8) If you happen to use feed corn (which I highly recommend, since a 50lb bag goes for about $10), there is one modification to the tek to accommodate for this change. Feed corn is an open ended grain as opposed to popcorn. When youre performing the forced hydration phase, instead of PCing for 20min, just bring the PC up to 15psi, and then kill the heat and let depressurize naturally. Do not run it for 20min. This will still sufficiently hydrate your kernels, but will not make them mushy. Thats is it, thats the only difference for this tek in using feed corn as opposed to popcorn.
I thought a few things seemed off
@@A_Time_To_Dance i noticed that as well. at least beard got it covered
🤣
Could we have the vermiculite ratios?
@@JSammys there is not ratio per se. You just add enough to your jars or bags to make a thin layer across the bottom of your container before adding your grains. Hope this helps, and Happy Cultivating!
The teacher is back ❤
I remember when PGT was first making videos people in the community were talking bad about adding corn syrup to your popcorn now it’s a whole tek 😂 gotta luv it
Teacher, teacher!!! We missed you over the vacations!
I am trying this today. Brand new to mycology and am loving every minute of it. Thank you for all the information. You are giving this guy trying to find his way in this adventure a foot hold. You are so greatly appreciated.
Thx for the shout-out teacher. You are the GOAT!❤❤
Growing mushies is such a fun little hobby.
Hells yes! Came from The Cultibation Crew Discord server to say we appreciate you for giving credit to both Stunnin and Beard! Were hooked on Drippy Corn over there, been the best grain tek weve come across so far.

I knew I wasn't crazy adding a tablespoon of Karo syrup in when hydrating my corn.
Glad to know I wasn't just trippin when I tried this lol first time ever using corn I decided to mix in a lil corn syrup and no lie it was almost twice as fast as my other jars. I'd probably try this with every grain I prep myself
DUDE!! My spawn is EXPLODING using this drippy tek. Popcorn is my new fave grain spawn. Thank you so much.
Now if I could find a cheap substitute for Master's Mix my life would be complete.
Awe yeah! You mentioned The Beard 🥳
Im more happy that he mentioned Stunnin21, but it was nice to hear my name too!! 💪

Yes new vid . love your content. I got into mycology cuz of or content.keep up the good work. You and 90 are my favorite.
I just made some drippy corn and inoculated it today with PE LC. Praying i see fast colonization like yours. Thanks for a explaining this in a simple easy to follow way. ❤
Update: My jars have been doing awesome. After one week they are about 25% colonized and that’s with a PE liquid culture and only using about 2 ccs in each quart jar. Very happy with this tek. Just started making 4 more quart jars to inoculate with another strain. 😊
Trying this tonight. Wish me luck! Thank you PGT. Your goated as always
Thanx for dropping back in on CZcams. 🎉
Do the same thing with a big pot. Once steam starts cover the pot and start the timer for 120 minutes. That's how I did it before I got a PC.
Here from Cultibation Crew to show support! Nice that you dropped Beards name, woot woot! Shoutout to the man Stunnin21!!

9 days of fully colonized is insane.
Will try this tomorrow. Thank you PGT.
Thank you for always making it simple and easy for us mush love
Whoever created Maize are the best people in the history of the universe. love popcorn.
I add a few traeger pellets to my jars for excess moisture. Works really well.
I cant describe the level of succes you acheaved its very impresive considering where you came from, i wont forget about you wherever life leads me i always remember the persons i talked to we once were similar now so far apart, congrats u're the champignon
I'm that guy that never really watched ur videos but let me tell you... i often think to you i withnessed ur humble early beginnings on youtube and to this day u're obviously very inspiring to me eventhough i couldn't acheave what you do, u dug deeper than i was able to in mushroom cultivation, i've had many issues along the journey but it stays something that's in my heart for sure , i'm glad i got to chat with you back in the day because as i said, u're an inspiring person, ur succes on youtube you deserved it, i told you to never stop with it years back (on discord) and you didn't stop with it i'm glad you didn't because look at your succes now you can and shall be proud of urself let me tell you i wish u could help me get my head out of the water some day cuz i'm close to drowning i've always had a desperate behavior in the past i want it to change but where i am i feel like i'm still disabled eventhough i can walk
I appreciate your response. We all face struggles and challenges in life, and it's the journey towards being better is what makes it worth the effort. There will be good times and bad times, but we all must go through it to achieve what we want. Take it one day at a time my friend.
Just tried this corn syrup but on brown rice followed your steps from the broke Boi tek and added this 😂👍 thank you for the content
I was thinking of doing this. How’s it going with the brown rice?
Right how did it go I'm trying this soon ???
@@CarolinaBoiz overall no faster colonization on rice, still about 3 weeks to colonize. Make sure to let dry over night because if had a few that retained too much moisture and rotted
My favorite teacher
welcome back. topic discussion idea. what to do when colonization just stops for no reason

I believe it should be three or four tablespoons of corn syrup, unless I’m missing something. Most shot glasses are 1.5oz, some are 2. Two tablespoons equal one ounce I believe.
Has anyone tried drippy rice?
Yep works just fine but it’s basically calling to match the carbohydrate from your spores or lc so honey/cornsyrup/dextrose would work to coat
Heck yeah. The tek works amazingly, can confirm after only 5 days. Thx PGT
Can’t wait to give this a try! I have been trying to decide what grain to switch to for weeks when you put this vid out, voila!!!
Oh my stars! I can’t wait to try this! Bravo PGT!😁❤️💋🙀
Love the content! I’m going through my first few flushes right now and the process has been amazing! 13 monotubs and so far no contams 🙌🏽🤩
Dude I love u this video is gold!!
HELL YEAH BROTHER KEEP ON KEEPING ON
I've been doing this for years with dextrose (corn sugar). This is not new! I swear I didn't know I could have been in the mushroom growing hall of fame
New oven? NICEEE
물엿을 사용하는게 반갑네요~ 많이배우고 있습니다. 감사합니다
I have been thinking of doing a liquid culture of the Tampanisis something that makes the blue truffle, and knocking up granola bars using the 90 second uncle Ben tek! Snip a corner shoot enough culture to saturate and grow in one step and when it's done you just eat it like it was ment to be!
Mr PGT!
Great to see you again, congrats on everything! Hello to Mrs PGT!
good to see you in the wild brother
Slink!!!
This is game changer .I will try with honey and gypsum! 🤠
Hey we missed you, upload more pls ❤️❤️
My popcorn sucks so I'm gonn try this now.
bro read my mind, been needing a popcorn tek vid
Hey thanks for that video. Have you ever tried using corn syrup with brown rice or another type of grain, instead of using popcorn? I'm going to try brown rice cooked for 10 mins with corn syrup.
Come to think of it, that gives me an idea. You could do an Ultimate 'Drippy' Grain Experiment for Mycology.😁 To see what spawns and fruits first, and then compare total yields.
We are so back
Hey Philly GT can you do a video on brown rice with pressure cooker
Very nice, I gave this a try and really like it👍

I do this everytime, but I also use like 1/3 cup of coffee
The Legend HIMSELF!!
Glad to see you online again. I would be interested in the comparison of drippy corn and other grains.
Sorry for the noob question, but once the jar is fully inoculated, do you just grab a spoon, dig it out, and add to bulk substrate? Cheers
Is it possible with honey as well?
Philly…Shake ur jars ! 🍄 ☮️
Foolproof methods as always. You just have to follow instructions.
So, if my mycelium came from LC made with honey, could I substitute corn syrup with honey?
Yessir that’s the idea
wonder if adding corn syrup to your grain prep, would you get similar faster culturing ??
hell yeah pgt returns
Mush love PGT appreciate all the shared knowledge through the past couple years. I've come along way, and I thank you.
I wonder if this would work for rye grain as well?
Popcorn seems to be pretty resistant to contaminants, I only run 12 psi for 15 min and have never had any contam issues
Awesome instructional vid. Has anyone tried this with liquid culture inoculation?
Yeah, I used a LC syringe with Blue Oyster and it took off quick. I’d say about 10-12 days for 100% colonization.
Thanks for the video! wish I saw this yesterday I just prepared corn😅. Would this method work with a different type of grain? also would it work with honey/agave syrup instead of corn syrup?
Would be really interested if you tested Organic vs non-organic spawn. Wonder if there could be any chemical pesticide/herbicide/fungicide etc in or on the grain that could subtly inhibit the fungi growth. Obviously organic is much more expensive. But it’d be interesting to see.
Within gardening/farming, many find that non-organic wheat straw can have herbicide contamination which greatly inhibits crop growth the first year or two after it’s applied as a soil mulch.
Have you ever thought about this or tried using organic grains?
Thanks for your videos!
After watching this,, I know I have been over cooking my dam popcorn. Lol
Any advice on using bulk corn, like for cattle?
He’s back!!
Do you think you’d be able to do this with brown rice?
That's the drippy brown rice tek
Nice!
Oh im forsure gonna try dumping some honey on my uncle bens 🤣 love what u all do guys good shit
How about canned creamed corn? It's got water, sugar and grain, and it's been pressure cooked so it should be sterile. Might have to drain off some of the fluid first.
I’m assuming LC would be the same process?
Can you substitute honey for corn syrup?
I'm gonna try it with brown rice. I shouldn't have to pressure cook because of rice absorbs.
when i do this my corn always turns brown iv noticed when it stayed yellow it colonized quicker
So good, sweet! (Corn) Thanks! Do you know if corn 🌽 does well for pan cyan grain spawnin?
Would this work with rice and other grains too or only popcorn???
Good question! I'm going to try rice syrup on rice.
Yeah it does it’s trying to match the carbohydrate in your liquid culture you inoculate with so they transition quicker
Can someone tell me where do I get a legit source of culture for golden teacher ?
Can I use honey instead of corn syrup? Corn syrup is hard to find where I live.
One of the things to look into is what carbohydrate is in your lc and try to match that
I will try
What about drippy millet? Kari water , NSNS millet?
Can you do drippy oats too? I assume this works with any grain. Correct?
Appreciated!
I followed your wood substrate video and my pressure cooker melted a couple of holes in both. bags on my first attempt, I got the substrate into un pasturized bags due to the holes but should I not inoculate it and wait do. you think to see If it contaminates? What a mess. thank you btw Im from Philly too.
Definitely love this technique I appreciate your information hopefully this will make my tidal wave even more Amazing
let me try wild bird seed
