Hey! Designer of that Polar Express set you showed here! Thanks for the shout out! I put a lot of work into the design, so thanks for sharing it! Currently close to 7k as we speak!
the Mallard NEEDS to be a winner 100% its super duper cool! and it would be awesome to have in a lego city along other cool old LEGO trans like the crocodile locomotive the JB-35 i LOVE! the designer was extremely clever, using a big steering wheel piece to get the front to look very nice I have a 90% feeling LEGO won't pick it but i would VERY much like the Union Pacific Big Boy to be a LEGO ideas set. its HUGE! which means, it has a lot of power, attaching a lot of carriages to it that carry logs or high valued cargo would be awesome for a LEGO city to carry the freight around traffic free.
I would love it if Mallard got made into a set. It’s probably my all time favourite steam loco, and if Lego officially made one I would immediately go and buy it.
Heya - Designer of the mallard here - thanks! Best way of getting it into a set is getting it to 10k first, then fingers crossed Lego review team think its time for another train (this would have to be next year given the rate of reviews - and will need to see if orient express retires or not). Spread the word!
Thank you! As the designer of the Mallard my fingers remain crossed, but i need a lot more support to reach 5k quickly if it has any hope of reaching 10k. Can't seem to get a staff pick to save my life.
I think Lego is making a big mistake to not make the polar express with it's recent growing Popularity and the Recent Official announcement of polar express 2 They would have no issue With producing and selling that set
I know, I kind Of wish another company would take over the right, If bachmann had their hands On the licensing they would tool it to look exactly like the movie
American 4-4-O's have always been My favorite type of steam locomotive it's very sad that Lego has not produced 1 yet They're always painted in such beautiful colors that you just don't see today With gold to red to blue to silver to black to pretty much almost any color and detail
im from porto and we have badcly the same trams as lisbon and i must point out a big noticable error in the tram: the back lights. thes trams are designed to be turned from one side to another buy tath i mean u id grab a cable turn the ting on top and the "phantograph" would be turned for witch reasons loghts on both sides are the same. aneays theur are slme other things but i still like the set and idk if its like tath in Lisbon and i hope ut makes it
With the Orient Express having recently been released (and train projects coming out through the BrickLink program as well as train-adjacent sets like the new City Tram), its unlikely LEGO are going to approve another train in Ideas anytime soon.
Unfortunately, with a lot of these previously failed submissions, the point of failure most likely comes down to licensing - many larger entities, such as Union Pacific (the owners and operators of the Big Boy) or the owners of the Polar Express IP, tend to be more stingy with licensing than one would expect, and honestly, I expect that UP and the Polar Express are probably currently more focused on their licensing agreements with Lionel and other makers of toy/model trains than they are on branching out into other hobbies with regards to licensing agreements. Some entities are even leaving the licensing game altogether - international shipping giant Maersk, for example, will not be officially licensing any new models of their equipment for the foreseeable future, leaving anyone who wants models of Maersk containers, etcetera, to basically create their own one-offs for personal use. My point is, don't give up on trying to get LEGO to ask for licensing agreements with other corporations, but don't expect those other corporations to enter into such agreements - the corporate world is simply way more complex than any of us laypeople expect it to be.
Does anyone know how to buy the General Store off BrickLink series 1? Says there are still some to purchase but crowdfund period is over. I have recently started following Lego. I like the ones created by llucky.
I highly doubt any of these will come the fruition as the sales number of the Orient express train isn't doing too well. It's not where even near the popularity of the Saturn V or the Wall-E

Nice design mate 👍
Hi. Well done on the support you’ve gained so far. Thanks for joining in here, and for your design - really cool 👌
Wish you luck, you definitely need it.
Wish you luck, should have just left the polar express name off it.
DUUUUUDE IT’S A WORK OF ART AND I NEEDD IT
the Mallard NEEDS to be a winner 100% its super duper cool! and it would be awesome to have in a lego city along other cool old LEGO trans like the crocodile locomotive

Once again, great content. The Steel Mill gets my vote.
We need Mallard.
Agreed. Should be a set.

Steel mill is really great - everybody's Lego city needs an industrial zone, right?
I think so 👍
Adding direct links to these sets in the description would be a huge help.
Great selection! The Mallard and the railway keeper house need to become sets! Actually, they all do.
All great aren’t they
Get around it! Would love to see all of these make the cut 🚂
We need the Polar Express with *more* cars! At least five.
Steel Mill my clear favourite. Polar express looks a little bland but would be cool motorised around your Christmas Tree
I highly doubt the 1800s train and bridge set will get chosen because it's too close to the logging railway set in the Bricklink Designer Series Two.
I agree they are similar. Plus the series 4 train, too. However, with its smaller size it does make easier to display. Maybe that gives it a chance.
9:37 the only problem is that Lionel holds the rights for models of the polar express. So it unlikely.
I think Lego is making a big mistake to not make the polar express with it's recent growing Popularity and the Recent Official announcement of polar express 2 They would have no issue With producing and selling that set
Lionel holds the rights to make models of it.
I know, I kind Of wish another company would take over the right, If bachmann had their hands On the licensing they would tool it to look exactly like the movie
I have a feeling Lego is going to screw up the designs like they did with the orient Express
9:02 We do not need a Tom Hanks Minifig!
0:34 I smell a Spencer remake!!!
You smell what?
@@bussesandtrains1218 the mallard build, replace the blue with white, add a custom Spencer name plate, and boom, Spencer the private engine
The "lineside cottage" needs a n interior redecorating. All the building is for is switching signals / points
American 4-4-O's have always been My favorite type of steam locomotive it's very sad that Lego has not produced 1 yet They're always painted in such beautiful colors that you just don't see today With gold to red to blue to silver to black to pretty much almost any color and detail
Colours are stunning, lovely trains
See, I built many, they never got the support aside from the Genoa, which was rejected. Even after a rebuild and re-color.
I support all of them dude
Cool
Kinda cool they had the train from satisfactory on the list of trains
That steel mill is so cool! When have we had something simmilar?
No, need it, so good
I hope Lego realizes one of the Lego train ideas😊
Fingers crossed
Add the Steel Mill
JUST VOTE FOR ALL THE TRAINS!!!

I think Real Rack Railway is in Prague, Czech Republic. Train/Trolley on the Petřín Hill ...
This one is based on a line in Switzerland, the Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn.
Does anyone know how to buy the General Store off BrickLink series 1? Says there are still some to purchase but crowdfund period is over. I have recently started following Lego. I like the ones created by llucky.
You can’t the time limit is up. You will have to buy off the secondary market (at a premium…)
Where's Thomas?
5:52
Thomas the tank engine
aw man i ned to be 13+ to use lego ideas D:
How does Kate have two kids... Is she even married...
It's actually pretty easy to have multiple children and not be married! Hope this helps :)
Personally not a fan of the Polar Express one. It's simply too bland looking and the coaches are very square.
I highly doubt any of these will come the fruition as the sales number of the Orient express train isn't doing too well. It's not where even near the popularity of the Saturn V or the Wall-E
Not gonna lie, I don't care for the valve gear on the JB-35
I think it has become a waist of effort to support any idea, after Lego decided to mess up the Orient Express design.
