Warning Personal Opinion:
James Marriott May be a comic, a card, but his diversity obviously stretches further than his respectful YT Comedy. James Marriott’s new single Calling seems to feel more mature than his last single. This Alternative Indie sphere seems to suit his voice quite naturally. Feeling like a track that is somewhere between Teen Blush and maybe The Arctic Monkeys or The Stone Roses, I find that if Marriott ventured further down this rabbit hole he could probably become a serious artist. Along the lines of Mac Demarco, being a natural within comedy and music, James don’t stop this. Actually keep exploring it. There is a market for natural Alternative music. Where you excel is your distinctive songwriting, where you need work is in your production. Alternative music like yours would lend itself very nicely to the production cues of Pavement, or Damon Albarn. Calling is less Pop Punk than “Him” and more attention is paid to guitars than on Slow Down. He’s getting better, we should be in for something exciting if this is just an conception of a musical career.
