  • Written around 1730, with the assistance from C. P. E. Bach who wrote the trumpet, oboe, and timpani parts, and Johann Ludwig Krebs who wrote the second violin and viola parts. It is argued that the original version was intended to consist of just strings and continuo. It is a beautiful and thought provoking piece.

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this piece!!!!!!! It IS TOTALLY MONUMENTAL due to the FACT THAT IT IS a work of TOTAL GENIUS!!!!!!!! In fact I first fell in love with it when I was a wee girl. Julie Gill, Glasgow, Scotland.

      It remembers the divulgation program of Piero Angela, a legend.
      He was an Italian TV since the 50s I think and he died 2 years ago

    The first time I had the pleasure of listening to this mesmerizing beauty I was a kid in 2014. I heard it while playing the intro section of The Evil Within. The Sadist was cutting up a body while this was playing.
