  • 2022 Mazda CX-90 PHEV GS-L WINTER Road Test, Review, Night Drive and Walkaround
Welcome to my in-depth exploration of the 2024 Mazda CX-90 GS-L PHEV. With one of the most remarkable plug-in hybrid engines I've ever driven powering an all-new platform, the drive, handling, acceleration, and road manners of this machine are tough to beat for the money.
We'll also look at the effects of cold weather on range, charging and climate control functionality-- but don't worry, this hybrid version of the CX-90 has a few tricks up its sleeve.
Here's what we've got cooked up for you in this video!

great review, I've watched many CX90 reviews and did not see the detail you provided elsewhere.

This was an excellent review. I wonder if the 2025 model will improve the performance of the transmission. A lot of reviews say it can get jerky at times.

Very new transmission for Mazda and I have no concern about reliability because well, it’s Mazda, but they’ll definitely tweak the transmission behaviour as time goes on :)

The only complaint I have is that the lower trim CX-90's have a very obvious "base" model look compared to the outgoing CX-9. The plastic cladding is much larger and slabbier, and the 19" look small (i can't believe this is the case). I think maybe on other colours, like the Machine Grey, or the Silver, it would be less pronounced.
PHEV seems like its probably the way to go. I6 is ambitious but seems like a bit of an underachiever for what it is. I'm sure lots of room for improvement either way.

What do u lose when using regular gas?

As in your testing my CX-90 PHEV at temperatures around 0C gets about 30km per charge. I was getting about 40km per charge at 20C and above, as your 0C charge range experience is about the same at least I know it's not just me.

Nope, you definitely lose some when it's cold. The electric heater is a nice touch. I still wished for a bit more range but for where and how I drive this would save me a lot of fuel regardless.

@@JustinPritchard More range would definitely be nice but for my driving I am only putting gasoline in it about once a month (I charge every night and in the day if I can).
