I was afraid he would end up losing some teeth to the steering wheel on a bump. At the same time I was so happy seeing him have fun. My dad let me do a burnout in his truck at Lincoln's age, and I still remember that. I'm sure Linc will remember this ride for the rest of his life.

This is the right way to look at it. I've watched long enough now to see Lincoln grow out of his "fear of loud noises" phase. Seeing him beaming as he steered a giant race truck around the pasture really got to me. Mere will get over it, after all you know they can afford it.

Speaking as a grouchy ol' grandpa, I don't think I've ever seen a more delightful interaction between dad and son as when you two were bombing around the pasture in that ridiculous truck. On the basis of that alone, I'm all for the truck. If more dads and sons had fun together in silly but constructive pursuits the world would be a better place when these same sons assumed their adult roles.
