    Great update! I love the trench walling.. I think all the parts work really well together and the rocks sticking out certainly add to the effect. I think snapping the sticks makes it look like it was a tree or something that got battered by artillery fire and then it's been used to build the trench walling. The arty gun does look great, Very nice of him to make that for you. Cheers

      Thanks ever so much Michael! Glad you like it! Very pleased with how it turned out :) Now just to do the rest of them. Really does give it a worn look. I'm over the moon with the Artillery Battery! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, as I had been looking for one for months. Honestly thought no one would make them. Will certainly give him a shout if I need anyone items for the layout :)

      Thanks Laurie! Glad you think so! Still a long way to go yet :) Certainly is a very clever but simple system :) Hopefully I can't mess it up ;)

    Looking superb. Really like the trench walls. I also like what you have done with the points. Looking like it might be ready for next season.

    Great update of your 009 gauge Trench Railway layout mate, you done very good job of the road and level crossing as well the trenching ; ) I look forward when you take the Trench Railway to model railway show some time early next year and I may think of buying 009 gauge loco soon so that can run it on your layout at those exhibition. You know I said that I;m going to the East Lancashire Railway this weekend, I'm may think of somewhere else instead for this weekend and I thought off going to the Churnet Valley Railway for their 25th Anniversary Gala on the weekend after.

    Great progress being made. Really looking brilliant certainly sets the scene well. The trench boards are spot on from what i remember of my visit to trenches in passendale. Also have you heard of the group restoring the war office hunslet loco up at apedale certainly worth a look online i think when i looked they did mention something about some commission models not sure of scale but could be another perfect loco for you.

    I would offer you some pictures of the remains/ruins from a ww2 battery in france (GrandCamp Maisy) but its a ww2 trench and area so don't think they would be relevant / useful.
    Anyway fantastic update mate! Plenty has been done but plenty is still yet to be done :) Its coming along superbly :D

    love the way you've done your points nice and simple if only I could convince my friend to do the same thing instead of trying to fit point motors to a layout that is 20 years old.

    • @SDJR7F88
      @SDJR7F88  Před 7 lety +1

      Thanks Jacob. It certainly is a effective and simple way of operating points. Never know, you might be able to change his mind :)

      Thanks Adi! Glad you like the progress. Sadly not much work on the 26xx of late, been working 6 days a week and my free time is taken up by this layout. Though hopefully I'll get around to finishing it at some point. They layout has given me more of a reason to try and paint it in a WW1 livery when complete ;)
