Arizona Mule Deer Hunt

- In this Episode we head down to the dry desert hills of Arizona in search of a monster mule deer. This was our first trip to Arizona to hunt mule deer and we had our work cut out for us! We came close but ended up short. This was a great adventure and an experience. We will definitely return to Arizona to hunt mule deer again!

So glad you made this video. Im so tired of deer hunting videos from back east where numerous bucks pass in front of their tree stand every morning, and they pass most of them up. As an Arizona native hunter I always think, you idiots should try and hunt here! Its super tough! Your video showed the brutal reality. My daughter and I will be in 19A this October for the rifle hunt. Hope to run into you on your next Arizona adventure.

Right? That’s not hunting, it’s shooting. Try hiking in 10,000 elevation in Colorado hunting.
@AZ Desert Prepper I feel you man.. I hunt down south in AZ and I see a lot of bucks and get them at least to 150 yards usually 100 but they get spooked around then.. if I hunted with a rifle I would never go home without a deer. I still haven’t got a deer in AZ with a bow. I’m probably a small portion of the population that thinks hunting laws should be changed to shotgun slugs and bows. It’s too easy with a rifle you can shoot 400 yards.
It’s literally 50 times harder out here. Though.. if i was rifle hunting out here I’d have a deer Everytime I’ve been out.. but a bow on the west coast is the hardest type of hunting there is.

Good video keep at it guys even the locals as myself struggle to get them in the rut, personally i go after coues and have had success but had taken me years to launch an arrow but still love the anticipation of every new year to get out and yes i have taken off my boots to stalk lol

Take a 55gal outdoor tash bag with you next time for the javelina throw it in that will help with the getting the stink on everything. Then hang it from a tree and skin it whole a good butcher will get more meat off it that way? I get typically 35 to 40lbs of chorizo of mine every year. Fun critters to hunt! Great video! And good az otc buck you guys were chasing!

Cool video, ain't easy to hunt deer with a bow in Az. So out of Stater's it ain't worth it to travel many miles 😂, easy with a rifle though, but no guarantees of seeing any deer.
What area did you end up hunting? I’m in Arizona and just bought a bow since that’s all you can do OTC but I don’t know what areas are any good
lol how bad did your pack and clothes stink after packing out that Javelina like that?
I learned the hard way too...
I always debone my javelina right where they lay.
Or at the very least cut out those cent glands wich kinda helps but the hide is normally covered in stink too.

Might want to check regs for this year. Because of videos like this Arizona is taking away a lot of these over the counter hunts for mule deer. Many are turning into a draw.

Instead they went to a harvest quota program and limiting non residents to 10% of the tag allotment.

Just curious: Where was the nearest city? Weren't there some cow elk in this vid? I am not well versed on hunting, but I thought elk would not live in a drier climate like Mule deer can. Thanks.
Actually mule deer and elk a lot of times share very similar habitat

Last year I saw a huge mulie buck at the Colorado River near Blythe, CA and then later in the same day a bull elk that was about the size of a donkey was right in the middle of the road near Payson, Arizona. AND OF COURSE, I DIDN'T GET A PIC OF EITHER!! Great vid...thanks for posting.
Like the wide open spaces and hunting these mule deer. White tail hunting back east with the freeway noise in the background just gets old. Feel sorry for those guys who have to hunt their back yard pets.

@@WesternObsessionsTV yeah it is what it is. California Dreaming as turn into Commiefornia Night Marie. Unfortunately California Fish & Game are corrupt Government Officials.. it my understand that the head of California Fish & Game is a member of PETA. It’s hard to get Ammo in California because of the back ground checks. I got my hunting licenses back in 2003 but I had not gone hunting yet but when I move i will do a lot of it. Money has been the problem plus living in California does not make it easy.
