In the 60 seconds between the end of his nightly ABC Radio talk show and the top of the hour, Tom Snyder would often talk over the satellite feed before he left. Sometimes addressing affiliates and board operators at local stations, sometimes just talking about whatever was on his mind. Sometimes telling off-color jokes, old stories or dishing on celebrities and broadcasters.
These segments were never intended to be aired, frequently ending with variations of "...if this ever gets on the air, we come to your homes!"
Apparently some of them did get on the air, as you can hear him issue a brief complaint one night at the 34:24 mark in this clip. The closing commentaries essentially ceased thereafter.

Tom was great, but I wonder how many board ops in the middle of the night actually listened to any of this or simply hit "click" as soon as the show ended.
