I was invited by EC (hubs.li/Q02mmw1s0) to check out Malta and EC's school. Obviously, I had to take the opportunity and go on the streets to meet people with different backgrounds. Naturally, I tried guessing as many countries as possible. Whenever I didn't guess one right, they won money. Here's what happened.
Huge shoutout to EC (hubs.li/Q02mmw1s0) for inviting me to Malta. Check out their courses if you want to significantly improve your English skills and at the same time meet people from all around the world!

Thanks for visiting us on this beautiful island 🙌🇲🇹 It was a pleasure having you visit us!
The guy from pakistan was jokes😂He clearly didnt understand any English
When he said Lahore, did he think he was being asked which city he's from?
why do so many polyglots refuse to learn Hindi/Urdu but learn Latvian or Danish instead ?
@@belstar1128hah that's so true, I don't know why, but probably because similar culture, western mentality, religion. So it's easier to understand each other straight away because of that. And similar sense of humor too I guess.
When someone's mentality/culture is completely different to you in almost every way, then it's hard to make friends with them. They ask you questions like "why is your wife not on a leash" or something weird like that lol
@@louiserocks1 yea but they also often learn Chinese or even Arabic. i will say trying to learn Hindi most Indians don't get my hobbies. most of them only care about more mainstream things like sports and movies. compared to Europeans and Latinos were you got more hobby communities despite the low population. but i think its because of poverty but maybe not since this stuff is also popular in places like Ukraine or Venezuela. but not in south Korea
@@belstar1128For one they both use latin script, makes them so much easier to learn for those people whose native language uses latin script
How the final Maltese guy hacked the system, that was pure natural genius !
kinda sad though that he doesn't speak Maltese :(
@@lingualizer Per Wikipedia, more Maltese have a basic command of English (96%) than they do Maltese (90%)
@@lingualizer Perhaps he's not ethnic Maltese. Sort of like English South Africans who don't speak Afrikaans.
5:39 funniest part 😅
Thank you for taking me to Malta, and for sharing all the smiling people from all the diferent language and cultures.
I've found that in most situations we have for more in common than we have differences, and it's good that you show that to the world. 👍
It's great that you made it so you had to guess the country instead of the language. One the one hand this really helps you with things like filipino languages, but it also creates some fun scenarios like with the guy from Northern-Ireland or the English-speaking Maltese guy.
Some Maltese people speak English but not Maltese?
It's especially hard with Spanish, yu gotta guess out of like 50 countries lol
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm English is an official language in Malta. And in many studies is shown to be slightly more widely spoken than Maltese. It's very common if you go there, many signs are only in English. But this is also partially because Malta relies a lot on international tourism economically.
The second guy from Poland was so perfect: "We are on a trip with Mrs. Hannah and we are waiting for when she stops scratching her hallux"
Had to look up what a hallux is...
5:31 that was the most random thing I’ve ever heard anyone saying in Polish
What does it mean?
@@DavidZ4-gg3dmWe're on a trip with Mrs. Hania, and we're waiting for her to stop scratching herself on her hallux.
What the fuck is hallux? @@sharavy6851
3:47 również pozdrawiam twoich kolegów ze Złotowa 😉🙂
As soon as she said, “Ahoj” I knew it was Czech lol.
My guess was Slovak, since they also say "Ahoj"
I'm the opposite of Lingualizer: I can tell when a language isn't Armenian, but I could not guess most of the others.
Pakistani dude 😂
Love this channel
4:50 no way this was Italian...
she didn't even use her hands!
Ach und, it seems like the Pakistani is about as proficient in English as you are in Maltese 😜
come on, let's not always make gestures, enough with this stereotype. 🤦♂
Isn't it possible that not all Italians do that? Serious question.
@@Pidalin the serious answer is that I assume most Italians do not gesture wildly while talking
@@jashepoon and Germans don't speak like Hitler, which is also shocking 😀
1:53 that really sounded like Swedish to me, and nothing like the Maltese from the first guy, that really got me
You are a great guy 😄
as a person that tried learning latvian hearing latvian spoken like the last guy did is so satisfying
I have a tip to distinguish between Lithuanian and Latvian. If you hear a lot of -as, -ius, it's probably Lithuanian
Doesn't Lithuanian have more of the 'sh' sound? More than Latvian? At least that's the impression I have.
Eyyyy, don't give hints, I'm trying to meet this guy and win money someday hopefully 😂 Baltic languages still have hope if we not gonna say most known words and things completely giving us away
@@PauliusZeRo Hahaha you're right. But you can always speak in some kind of "Zemaitisko" Lithuanian (Samogitian) to confuse anyone :P
hi i like your channel
Egy őszinte választ várok, ezen a nyelven milyen szinten beszélsz? :D
I want an honest answer, at what level do you speak this language?
I tried to play along, but when I pause, I can see the answers as chapters names! :D
close your eyes and listen hehe
@@lingualizer I moved the window low enough, so that the answers were hidden, hehe
Γεια σου ρε Χρηστάρα!
Is there a chance that Latvian or Lithuanian will be available on DuoLingo any time soon?
yes, 1% chance
5:31 Jak Pani Hania się dowie o tym to będzie ciekawie! Czy ktoś może wysłać jej ten fragment!? :D Hahaahhaha
I wish I'had met you some day
Why do people even come if they donxt understand what they need to do??
good question haha
I watched it thrice and I still don't understand ehat the hell happened with the Pakistan dude 😂 One of the strangest interactions ever on this channel
Great video, very funny the man from Pakistan, he doesn't understand English. Wonderful video 😂😂😂
I’m going to Malta in august 24th
❤❤
That Maltese girl... 😍😍😍
LOL I wish I was there to participate
why did you unlist ur shorts
I do the same thing to confuse people “yes.”
3:27 This one’s Tagalog, I’m 80 percent sure.
5:50 bro broke the Matrix
it would be a lot harder if some Africans showed up since often their languages are spread out over multiple countries .
No Italian (with a big big smile like me 😁) told you what can be done with that hand? Maybe (one day) you will meet someone smiling like me. 👍
5:11 I'm from Ireland but not Northern Ireland yippee
6:17 I'm Latvian too, the more you know about a random person in a CZcams comments section
That Pakistani guy was from England as he was speaking English.
1:54 is the official unofficial representative of Maltese students
First guy was too easy haha
I can't wait to meet this guy some day. He's never going to guess my country as I'm from Asia and English is my native language 😂
Singapore?
i am Maltese, i think Maltese sounds a lot like Hebrew, just my thoughts (also I don't speak maltese but I am learning it soon)
Pakistani guy spoke Punjabi in Manjhi dialect and a little bit of Urdu.
Who else is a fan of Lingualizer?
2.09M people are
@@AleJ___so true!
Guessing language challenge with wouter
The pakistani killed me
Haha the guy from pakistan what a legend
The Pakistani guy was speaking Pubjabi language. But he didn't understand whatever you said LOL. Love from India :)
Ah yes, Milano in Pakistan!
They are supposed to speak English in Malta according to "experts" on the youtube. of course they speak Maltese.
Support comment :)
Czechs shouldn't start with „ahoj” 😆😆
The Pakistani guy just didn't speak English well like most people in the world, you were a bit rude here I think.
4:55 come on, it's offensive, that random gesture there... enough with this stereotype! 🤦♂
2 RAZY POLSKA W FILMIE, POLSKA GUROOOOOOM
Imagine if a Russian dude was speaking and this guy was like "Slava Ukraini" ._.
I would be curious what is racist ? Because a blunt statement on your channel is not enough to say what racism is.
The Pakistani was... 🥲 Got second hand embarrassment.
1:42 Pakistani guy doesn’t even know his country’s capital city, shame on him. It’s Islamabad, man. I’m an Indian knowing Pakistan’s capital city.
I think he didn't understand the question.
Слава Україні!
5:40 какво каза😮?! Българска работа😂
slava russia!
