By the way, did anyone notice, how at 3:24, not only the Eye of Terror itself is closed, but the entire structure of the very spacetime, where this gigantic bleeding wound of reality once existed, returns back to normal, non-warped three-dimensional Euclidean topology? Looks like Necron technology can truly fix what Formless Horror has done to the galaxy, not merely patch it over. More than anything else, this game frames the main crisis the Imperium is in. You have powerful ships and capable commanders, certainly. But your fleets are forced to protect several subsectors from numerous threats, with more cropping up again and again. Sure, you need to liberate that planet under attack by orks in the Chinchare subsector, but tyranids are attempting to get a foothold in Agripinaa. Forget those pirates in Medusa, there are necrons blazing a path towards Cadia and you still have dark eldar raiders to deal with.
The Imperium is mighty, but it's size can become a real handicap in the end.

Which as we probably all know both events basically screwed over the entire galaxy to the point where the emperor had to reveal himself and save the imperium. Then before he could fully rebuild humanity and stop relying on unreliable warp drives he got screwed over by Horus and here we are. With humanity screwed every which way using second hand equipment leftover from the age of technology.

Anyone else miss the way the previous game could justifiably fit into the lore? Where are we supposed to go with this? Plus it kind of makes Admiral Spire into a joke. In the first game, he was a relatively relatable leader who held compassion for his underlings and the common people he was sworn to protect. Who was also capable of taking a more nuanced view of universe in the pursuit of his duties. While ALSO being painfully aware of the kind of universe he’s in and sacrifices that would be demanded of someone like him. He was a really multifaceted character. So much so that it felt earned when he rose from captain of a single ship to Savior of the Gothic Sector.
In this game he’s just another Gary Stu with plot armor thicker than the Phalanx. Like he had a freaking PRIMARCH simping over him and handing over his flagship over to him no question, and killed the Warmaster of Chaos! He’s not an interesting character with a well earned victory under his belt by the end of the game. He’s a freaking meme! Practically the Cato Sicarius of the Imperial Navy!😒

by using the specialized psychic power of a selectively evolved Hive Ship, they manipulate the gravity fields to achieve faster-than-light travel. The massive Warp presence of the Tyranid Hive Mind, however, manifests itself in that realm through the Shadow in the Warp phenomenon.

Have you ever read the old Star Wars legends books, The New Jedi Order? Dealing with the Yuuzhan Vong? The YV had these organic engines called dovin basals that would lock on a distant world and pull the craft with it. It's basically the same with the Tyranid; Hive ships manipulate local space time and latch onto stars, both distant and near, to propel themselves through space. Also, contrary to popular belief, they ARE capable of FTL travel, it's just not through the warp, and their method of travel breaks down when near a large celestial body.
