    @AndrewMOJObook Před 2 lety +26

    I bought a 2012 ppv Memorial Day 2022.
By July 1st had the DoD Delete done, AFM detuned, Rotofab CAI,
and Texas Speed LS7 lifters with a Stage 1 cam installed.
Cosmetically I got the headlights undulled, window tint, and new tires on the OEM steel wheels,
had it detailed properly to remove the remnants of the word "POLICE" from the hood and clean it up.
Yes, parts will be scarce, and expensive.
I'm not a car guy but when I discovered that in removing the bull bar,
while it was doing police pursuit
    (or whatever)
    the New Jersey Police
(or whomever) broke the skid plate and front fascia where the steel bolts attached to the plastic.
It was hanging with a 3mm gap on the driver's side and 1mm on the passenger side.
    (Unacceptable)
    To correct this
I braided 10 bungee cords adding one at a time, and now the whole front end is secured to the frame, with flat bungees and solid.
There's no gap remaining on either side, and none of the cords are overly stressed and each is supporting the others.
It had 95,000 miles on it.
It is a blast to drive but I haven't had it over 65 mph yet.
    Shelbykiller(tm) dynotuned it for street.
I know how powerful and fast it is, but I'm in no hurry to get anywhere and 0-60 is exhilarating enough.
It's a retired cop car, I'm Retired Army.
I don't have money to waste on it but I have never enjoyed any car more.
As an homage to it's Holden heritage I made the Chevrolet bowtie on the grill red with a bottle of $1.99 nail polish
-since bungee cords are visible I'm not vain about minutiae.
It wouldn't even occur to me to do burnouts, drift, or race it, but I'm on a fixed income.
It was my 60th birthday present to myself and I expect it to last the rest of my life.
Shelbykiller Performance LLC in Oklahoma City did all my engine work.
    I like it a lot.
I traded my 1980 Eldorado for the PPV.
    (& 60 month loan)
My other daily driver is a 1981 Fox body T-Bird with the 302.
Possible future mods are a manual transmission, headers, and exhaust upgrades.
    Possibly.
    For now, it's just fine.

Rest assured, the Australian caprice's are tonnes better than this. It's to the point where none of the issues that he has mentioned exist in our car. Except for the weight but hey, it's a luxury sedan and cruiser. Great video though nonetheless. It's sucks to see how America always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to holden vehicles. Someone needs a whambulance. A cop car ! Police get in and out hundreds of times a day possibly thru multiple shifts! Seats built to take vests, guns, gun belts. And you get a chevy person to unlock the infotainment. The only thing you said that was true is parts, it's an australpion car that is no longer made! try finding parts for any foreign car that is no longer in production! Try to find an LS powered car that starts with 355HP for less than 6K sometimes and cop brakes, shocks a reverse gear that does 38 MPH and who knows what else! Guy whines about a car he's doing 30 second burnouts in and can drive it all day! You take care of a car like this and it will run a very long time and the value is going to increase. It's a rare car, you don't have to beat the shill out of it! It is a heavy car because it's the only Police car ever built as a Police car! Go buy a cavalier and quit your whining!
