As always, I love the worlds and stories you create for your dolls, and I love that you share them with us. I especially love your expansion of the historical worlds like this one - the two friend groups that are connected by Hannah is awesome. Your Gabriella is SO cute, you were not wrong to say you have a beautiful one in your Sonali video. Between yours and Kristie's Gabriella, I remain tempted by her. (I also loved Gabriella's books.) I ADORE the rollerblading set - that was actually one of the outfits I owned when I was a kid in the 90s. I had one doll, a #17 that I got in 1995 when I was 7, and a few outfits - basically whatever went on sale, lol, so I ended up with a lot of sports stuff despite not being a sports person. The rollerblading set is one of the few "sports" sets that has such amazing versatility and is fun regardless of era, even if it does scream 90s with those shorts and oversized shirt. I'm so glad you were able to get it! Such a great addition to your collection, and your 127 looks like she's having a great time. (Love that she is named after Brandi and Foxy!) Also, the game that showed up in one of the screens for the computer was a software game, not an online game! I owned that, too - it was called American Girl Premiere, and you got to write scripts and have the characters act them out. I LOVED that game, spent hours playing it. My one disappointment was that everything was era-locked, so Molly couldn't hang out with Felicity or anything like that. I remember being devastated that I couldn't have them play together. Now I'm an adult with fun money and you'd better believe I have all the historicals and they hang out together! Thank you for sharing.
@@eliseelliot Elise! You must’ve been typing this as I was replying to the last batch of comments 🥴 Thank you! Gabriela wasn’t on my list anywhere until I saw this particular doll. Do you still have the rollerblade outift? It’s amazing some are still floating around in such great condition!! In the game, were some of the girls alone, or did they have made up characters with them? Seems like the whole point of the game would be to play with them all together!
I love the creativity you put into your collection! It’s so different from how I see mine. My dolls are all just kind of MY little buddies rather than having their own distinct worlds 😂. I love hearing other collectors’ backstory and lore for their dolls. Buffy was huge to me back then, too! That show honestly meant the world to me and I’ll always look back on it fondly. I haven’t watched it in so long, maybe I should give it a rewatch. I love the twins, I was so excited when they came out because I was 13 in 1999. My interests were more like Isabel’s, I loved the spice girls and the clueless aesthetic (clueless is still my favorite movie) but my personality is more like Nicki’s- very anxious, lol.
@@strangelyliteral I think they start out as my friends when I first get them - then they find each other and become too cool to hang out with me 🤣🤣 Yes you need to rewatch Buffy!! Especially if you can find someone to watch it with who hasn’t seen it before. And all those bands at the time: aqua, vengsboys, all saints. It’s fun that you can relate to them both in different ways
OMG YES!! The Rollerblading outfit was my absolute favorite AGoT outfit as a little boy, it was one of the first outfit's I bought for my Logan doll but the tee has yellow, what looks like sweat stains all over the back of it, *womp womp* but I use the skates all the time, also I'm planning on getting my next video up today!
@@Alixthecollector oh good! Keep that momentum going! I remember it being kind of challenging at first, like I had to force myself. Not sure why I wanted to something when that was the feeling behind it 🤣
@DisBlaine Right!! Okay, that's really reassuring to hear! I was partly putting it off because a few items i needed were in a tote in the basement, and I didn't want to hunt for it, and partly because of the amount of stuff I have to delete on my phone in order to make a video 🙃😂😂 It's a lot of mental prep for me personally, but I've been enjoying it so much as far!
@@Alixthecollector it alwayyyyys takes a lot of prep. And dude… I bought a new phone last month with more GB because I was sick of deleting things and offloading apps and only being able to record single takes. Making videos is an expensive hobby 🤣
@@DisBlaine literally!! Nice!! Nicki and Isabel are on my Christmas agenda for this year lol I'm also obsessed with your Oniqua* doll, every time you feature her I want to make a custom one like her for myself, I was a bit younger in the 90s, actually the same age as the twins but yeah, I have to agree that most of the twins stuff is earlier 90s, and their bedroom sets remind me of the early 2000s. Also, there's a huge chance that if I get a new doll when I go to the Chicago store on the 24th it'll be a Tiana to have as a more modern character after seeing her in the Year 2000 outfit 😍
@@Alixthecollector ahhh okay, so you’re the right age to know if they’re accurate. But maybe mileage varies from region to region. Some have chimed in that they’re correct. Tiana makes a great modern character!! Her hair is so easy to style because it’s a texture that holds its shape (can’t remember if I mentioned that in the video). And if you want to do a similar hairstyle, I stole 2 butterfly clips from Makena to complete this look. And trust me, curling her hair is a breeze! I did back in late February (I think) and it hasn’t deflated a bit
@DisBlaine Yeah, I've heard a lot about how it's probably a regional thing, I'm as Midwest as you can get lol so obviously Chicago and Seattle probably had different styles for the time, the biggest trip up for me was their names! I didn't know a single Isabel back then, but I do have a second cousin named Nicki who is a few months younger than me, and we were in the same class for half of 4th grade lol And oh, that's really good to hear! That definitely puts another point in favor of getting her, even though I'm at the 3 new dolls for the year... but let's get real... taurus will power 😂
Nicki and Isabel mess with my brain because in 1999 I was a freshman in high school but to me AG’s are like…10 years old? So to me they look like little girls in teenager clothes, but also, that’s not what I wore as a teenager in 1999. The game that popped up on the computer looks a lot like a CD ROM game called The American Girl Premiere where you could create plays with the AG characters and it was AMAZING, and basically the first video editing software I used. Never apologize for your backstories! I feel weird about it sometimes too but on AGIG some collectors have such detailed stories going on, it’s like Melrose Place (Now there’s a 90’s reference!) Also: I had BTVS posters in my room wall to wall and LOVED her. I would go through all my magazines and my friends’ magazines and cut out ANY pic of her or anyone from the cast. I was forever bringing Sarah Michelle Geller‘s photo to the mall when I got my hair cut and saying make me look like this 😂 Not joking like two days ago I bought a pleather biker jacket because it looks like Buffy’s 🩷 and interesting that you mention relating to her journey in the show, because I did too but when Buffy got to college It was just too far ahead from me and I couldn’t relate to to her grown-up issues 😂 I was definitely more of a kid longer than most of my peers.
@@Kelly_Molly_Sarah haha yes, they don’t dress like kids - none I knew at that time! But I don’t mind aging them up in my collection. I think that’s the game! But I never played so a couple people in the comments had to explain it to me 🥴 I’m sure I could’ve looked into it ahead of time but I looked at these for the first time recording this 🤪 I think we all make elaborate stories for our dolls because AG put the idea in our heads they should have sagas lo! I used to decorate my room with Buffy stuff too! Looking back I didn’t love the designs of the merch but I loved the show so much I didn’t care at the time. Hopefully you could look back on the show later and relate! It really helped me transition (begrudgingly) into adulthood
@@DisBlaine I really should give it another watch. I had the biggest crush on Xander. I wonder if because I’m almost 40 now I will like Giles instead 😂
AG is so confusing with these dolls and their collection when it comes to "historical accuracy." That computer desk set is very much 2000s. I graduated HS in 2005 and I didn't have my own personal computer until I was in HS and it looked exactly like this. When I was actually around the age of 9-10 we only had a family computer, literally like what...Windows 95? That good ol' teal wallpaper and maybe 5 computer games (that didn't come with the computer.) And as you said at the start of the video, their clothing is nothing like 1999/2000. I really want to recreate my own "authentic" 90s childhood mini me doll. But I do like the computer desk (too bad it isn't really reflective of that time in my life.) Love the roller blade outfit the most, it is indeed very 90s (I had some myself but was too chicken to actually use them outside!) I do appreciate that you do kind of create little stories for your dolls instead of just collecting them. Thanks for sharing!
@@Amber-se7qq that’s a good point. I really couldn’t comment on the historical accuracy of the computer-I never had one 🤣 But yes even a bit later, anyone I knew with a computer it was a family computer, not just for the kids. @@starryeyeschick wanna know something embarrassing? The author herself commented below letting me know who Blossom was named after ☠️ That means she probably heard all the stories I gave my dolls, basically deleting hers (siggghhhhh)
@@DisBlaine oh well, I’m sure she understands. I renamed my twins, but the authors didn’t even name them anyway.
You must’ve been typing this as I was replying to the last batch of comments 🥴
Thank you! Gabriela wasn’t on my list anywhere until I saw this particular doll. Maybe they all look this cute in person lol.
Having one doll is the sweetest! It’s the perfect scenario for a kid. How many do you have now? I don’t think I’ve asked that before.
@@strangelyliteral I think they start out as my friends when I first get them - then they find each other and become too cool to hang out with me 🤣🤣
Yes you need to rewatch Buffy!! Especially if you can find someone to watch it with who hasn’t seen it before. Whenever I make a close friend, I make them watch it to see if we really can be friends (based on how much they enjoy it).
Oh yeah Isabel definitely would’ve been into the spice girls.
I was partly putting it off because a few items i needed were in a tote in the basement, and I didn't want to hunt for it, and partly because of the amount of stuff I have to delete on my phone in order to make a video 🙃😂😂
It's a lot of mental prep for me personally, but I've been enjoying it so much as far!
I started preparing at 10:20p.m, its 1:47a.m and I'm just now getting it uploaded 🤪🥲
And YES I'm literally looking into getting a new phone as well because I'm over the single take and getting distracted by the countdown, and then I start mumbling because my minds like 'oh shi, oh shi, oh shi,' and I lose my train of thought and it's all very unfortunate, so yeah I'll probably be upgrading in the next couple weeks too hah
Seriously these dolls are bleeding us dry lmfaooo
OMG 127s hair😮😮😮
@@kerrysmiles it wasn’t my original intention but it will suffice… for now 🤪
I didn't know a single Isabel back then, but I do have a second cousin named Nicki who is a few months younger than me, and we were in the same class for half of 4th grade lol
And oh, that's really good to hear! That definitely puts another point in favor of getting her, even though I'm at the 3 new dolls for the year... but let's get real... taurus will power 😂
I love story time 😂❤
@@luvlyleo2836 yyyeah I probably should’ve put “storytime” in the title. False advertising lol
I feel weird about it sometimes too but on AGIG some collectors have such detailed stories going on, it’s like Melrose Place (Now there’s a 90’s reference!)
Also: I had BTVS posters in my room wall to wall and LOVED her.
But I never played so a couple people in the comments had to explain it to me 🥴 I’m sure I could’ve looked into it ahead of time but I looked at these for the first time recording this 🤪
I think we all make elaborate stories for our dolls because AG put the idea in our heads they should have sagas lo!
I really couldn’t comment on the historical accuracy of the computer-I never had one 🤣
But yes even a bit later, anyone I knew with a computer it was a family computer, not just for the kids.
Yes your best bet is to create your own 90s doll. You only rolledbladed at home??? I tried it when I was older, but I couldn’t figure out how to move in them 🥴🤣
Oh I tried to get that rollerblading outfit but it was too far and she wouldn’t ship. I’m glad you got it!
@@leebenoit5474 oh no way! Are you near Toronto? I was able to drive down on my lunch and pick this up.
@@DisBlaine I’m in Northern Ontario.
Blossom is named after the Powerpuff Girl in the story. 😊
@@starryeyeschick wanna know something embarrassing? The author herself commented below letting me know who Blossom was named after ☠️
That means she probably heard all the stories I gave my dolls, basically deleting hers (siggghhhhh)
@@DisBlaine oh well, I’m sure she understands. I renamed my twins, but the authors didn’t even name them anyway. AG did that and couldn’t even wait to obtain the new copyrights so that’s why we have recycled names. Isabel is not a very 90s name, either. AG could’ve given Claudie a year of being the new girl and named the twins better.
Hi!😃how are you? Thanks for sharing! I love your stories!❤️ I like how you make all your groups of dolls and their stories too! I love how you did Bailey's hairstyle!! Do you think you will get the new Rapunzel doll too! I think I will get her! She's so cute! Take care and stay safe!❤️
@@robinkrueger5977 hi Robin! 👋🏼 I’m surprised Bailey’s hair was so easy to do! Her hair is slightly textured, so it holds its style really well.
I’m thinking about Rapunzel. I ordered Elsa, who’s already another blond MG mold, so I’m trying to decide if I have a place for her 🤔
@@DisBlaine oh cool! I will have to try that hairstyle too! I think you probably do have a place for her!🤔😄 I can't wait to see you unbox your frozen dolls! They are both so cute!❤️❄️

@@timjonestimjones ummm don’t be mad, but I had to look that up. Is the story similar to what I gave these dolls? If I found the right movie, it’s about sisters who switch places… but I never saw it 💔
@DisBlaine yes, exactly. Your twins triggered the memory. They showed that movie on the Disney Channel, and it was quite risqué for the time. WATCH IT lol
