first time in a while that ive seen someone actually do the self same trial without stripping first, definitely a fun use of the slayer (breaking the light aside) im so sad theyre getting rid of the leaf of faith trial autopath in patch 7 lmao, i wouldnt fault solo runners for taking a hireling or something for it cuz ive had it bug out on me so many times also nice pun in the description hehe oh also also, congrats on 3k subs!
Takes away the fun to strip down imo. It's not a hard fight as it is. That trial is kinda rough. Someone wrote about using feather fall and jump past the first elevator, if that's doable then it's possible to skip. Haha glad you noticed! :D Thank you very much! It's pretty wild to be honest \o/
Connor is such a gigachad, hahaha, my man may not be the backbone of the group, but he's one section of the spine holding it upright. I'm usually nice and save Mayrina and give her the wand, but I think next time I'll keep it for myself... Also, I was today years old when I learned about the autopath to the end of the Leap trial. I remember spending a lengthy amount of time doing it on my first playthrough...
He is so frigging good to have! Just a great all around sack of angry meat. You 100% should keep the wand next time. The autopath is so so convenient. Going to be scary for real when that is patched out.
@@FriendlyLich Faith Leap Trial is my biggest anxiety in the game. Worse than boss battles. 😅 Even though I've done it so often that I can do it without stepping off the path. (I don't know if anyone wants it, but I'll leave what works for me below if anyone does.) I pop a potion of vaulting, go into turn based mode, change to top down camera angle, and try to keep the screen straight. I have a screenshot of the floor map on my phone to reference where the path is. When I don't need to jump, I dash and click heels for extra movement. For most of the path, I judge where I am in relation to the edges of platforms and the statues. That's why I use top down camera. There are currently two places where the path seems to be bugged. I could just be bad at gauging where the path is, but if I walk into those places, no matter which way I move next--even straight back the way I came--I "fall off" the path. The first place is in the corner of the path directly in front of the sacrificial bowl at the start. The second place is at the end of the path, which it zigzags and connects to the final platform. The zigzag area is just hard, but the bugged area is where the path is supposed to connect to the platform. I jump from before the zigzag onto the last platform with the umbral gem. I don't know if anyone else has trouble with those spots, but it might be something to look out for. Other than that: fly and misty step are instant death. I think they used to work, but not now. Stay off platforms with the statues and out of the clouds of darkness. I don't know if those are supposed to hurt you, but the statues keep zapping me if I step on the platforms.
It is true...Patch 7 they are removing the Knock/One Gem cheese & the autopathing for Leap of Faith *CRIES* For Soft-Step I always use and invis pot and take the far right pathway straight back to the gate. You have to hit 1 button on the wall and you're there! You're such a "wholesome" strimmer, you didn't strip nekkid for Self-Same hehehehehe instead you gave us a Slayer! XD

I take it that you usually use the autopathing as well? :D Haha thank you. I do try my best !🖤 I love the Slayer form but it's not very awesome so I try to find uses for it.
You can Fly/Jump with Featherlfall through the stairs, where the Displacer Beast flees after seeing you, to the door, making it a Zero Gem Cheese with Knock. I suppose after Patch 7 we'll have to make do with 3 Gems without Knock. But atleast that means you can skip the Leap of Faith Trail if you want to.(Unless this somehow also got "fixed")
Some bugs deserve to stay :). Though I think maybe with a strength potion and enhanced leap one could maybe jump directly to the end? Or maybe gas form? Or a wild shaped druid in bird form? Probably will need to try when the patch hits 😹. It is not sooo difficult after a few tries, just a lot of stupid pixel bitching in the last few inches. I would not be surprised if some mod would enable some trick for the trials 😹. Interesting idea to use the slayer form in the second trial - just sad that next to nothing actually hit, but that's the rng for you ...
I read somewhere that trying to jump/fly over it will instantly kill you so I'm a bit worried about trying that out. Will have to experiment with it that's for sure. It would really stink to lose a run here. Hehe I was hoping for a bit more from the Slayer there but I mainly used it to conserve spell slots and resources. Just a bit awkward landing on that light source 😅
That went smoothly, jumping the light aside. :) So you really can use knock on the door to the Shadowfell? I'd heard that, but I've never tried it. I don't know if it's because I play on Steam Deck and use a controller, but I've never gotten that Faith Leap bypass to work.
