I was so saddened at the last episode of the Avengers when Emma left Steed. I believe that tear in his eye was genuine
According to Patrick, Diana's touching words were not scripted and he said he went into his dressing room and cried. Yeah, they were real tears 😢. They were very close.
It was they both cried ! However Diana, was not treated well nor paid well ! That is why she left !. Patrick's book, BLIND IN ONE EAR, goes into it a bit without telling the full 100 percent of the story.
he was also in a bond film playing bonds chauffeur. and a columbo playing the ships captain.

Patrick you now have both Honor and recently Diana who have left us to join you. So may you "always keep your bowler in times of stress and keep a watch out for those diabolical masterminds ".

Just finished his book, BLIND IN ONE EAR, yes that is the title. You do not know the man until you read his wild wild book. Quite a strange story, not at all what you would have expected.
That book and some extra research, I learned the real reason Diana Rigg, left the AVENGER show after only two seasons, 57 episodes. Their work day started at 5 AM to 7:30 PM, 15 and one half hour days, to make the Avengers.
