Mangalorean Jackfruit Patholi | Jackfruit Gatti | Jackfruit Kadubu | ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಡುಬು

This Mangalorean Steamed Jackfruit Cake is also called, Ponsa Patholi in Konkani, Pelakai Gatti in Tulu or Halasina Kadubu in Kannada.
Patholi is made with jackfruit, rice, jaggery and coconut which is spread over Teak leaf - folded and steamed.
There are 2 ways of preparing this Patholi. One the jaggery coconut ground together and steamed in a Teak leaf
Another method is preparing a coconut jaggery mix and stuffed in the batter prepared by jackfruit and rice on a teak leaf and steamed.
The aroma of the Teak leaf along with jackfruit gives an amazing taste to this dish.

Ingredients: This can make 6 Patholis.
For the Batter,
2 cups - Idli rice
1 cup - Grated coconut
1 Kg - Riped Jackfruit
Salt - as per taste
For the stuffing,
¾ cup Jaggery
¼ cup water
2 cups grated coconut
8 cardamom powdered
