Honestly, there’s nobody else in music let alone Hip Hop that I want to see make a bigger comeback than Rule. He was the soundtrack to much of my middle and high school years ( I’m in my mid-30’s by the way). I hate how everybody turned on him when Curtis entered the mainstream; late 2002, early 2003.
I ain’t gonna lie and pretend like all of Ja’s content was great because he did put out mediocre albums here and there. And his lyricism was not always the best but overall the dude has talent and made a lot of hit records not only for himself but for other artists as a ghostwriter. Rule’s catalog is immense!
He deserves another chance in Hip Hop and I’m rooting for him.

I admire most of Ja’s work but I’ve never seen any of his albums ever mentioned in conversation or on a list of the greatest Hip Hop albums ever. None of Rule’s albums are flawless that’s why I don’t regard any of them as classics. Real classics to me are not just the albums celebrated by a certain artist hardcore fan base but embraced by all.
I listened to THE LAST TEMPTATION a few years back and my opinion hasn’t changed. I still feel the same way about it now as I did in 2006 when I originally bought the cd. It’s still bad.
