Since this wouldn’t be possible in a real audition, that’s the whole point of NAURditions Night! Who says a girl can’t play a little boy role? Watch as Playbook Central Passenger, Precious Suarez, sings young Simba’s “I Just Can’t Wait to be King” from Lion King, and watch out for next week’s installment to see another Playbook Central Passenger to sing a much darker counterpart song from the same franchise…
📣 This specific scene was done last Saturday during the session themed “NAURDITIONS”. As a contrast to the usual Playbook Central sessions, instead of curating scenes for passengers to act out together, we ask them to bring songs to the meeting like an audition. The only requirement is that it has to be a piece on the don’t bring list, which pertains to certain songs and monologues that any self-respecting actor should never bring to an audition. And messing up is encouraged, if not expected.

🚂The Playbook Central is a series of light-hearted and lightly committed nights of readings, the casts for each piece are voluntary and spontaneous. The pieces are all thematically-aligned, cut, prepared beforehand to serve as an “All You Can Eat Buffet” of pieces for nervous or growing actors to sink their teeth into.
