The equipment I use and a basic recording setup. (Amazon Prime Day)

- With Amazon Prime Day here, as I was shopping myself I figured I'd record a video sharing my thoughts on a basic recording setup as well as sharing a list with the gear that I use, most of which can be found on Amazon! These are not specific Prime Day items, but some of them have special offers! There will later be videos where I in detail go through all of my equipment and my setup, but at least this can be a helpful source for you guys if you already plan on investing in something.
Here is the starter setup list I put together for you guys, for inspiration!
www.amazon.com/shop/maxadrums...
I was at first debating whether I should do this video or not - I'm not here to sell you things or make you buy things. But I do believe the information can be valuable, and as many of you ask my opinion, I decided to make this video for you guys! Don't buy something you can't afford, and make sure to investigate before going through with a purchase.
Check out the items in my list, but before adding them to your order, I suggest you search for the same product name on amazon yourself as well. The tool for putting these lists together is not very user-friendly when it comes to picking the best deal and sometimes there are multiple offers for one product. Also, do some additional research!
I'd like to point out that if you purchase anything within 24 hours from using my link, I will benefit from it, no matter what you purchase, at no additional cost for you. I feel this is something you should know even if it doesn't affect you.
My equipment list below has been updated along with links to places where you can find more information as well as purchase these items!

An in-depth equipment, setup, and recording series will be coming later this year! But I figured some of you guys might be going for deals today, so here are the things I use, and my thoughts on a basic setup in case you are.
Maximiliam Andersson I need to get more equipment :p
Haha, maybe!
@@maxadrums Do you remember me playing the drums? Please watch my channel, I play the drums.
Thanks for the video! You really don’t need a lot to start- you just need to START!
That is SO true!
Thank you Max.
Very welcome my friend!
Great video Maximiliam!
Glad it's appreciated! Thank you.
This channel is fantastic!!💯✌🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥thanks for all the awesome content💯👍
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words, and you're welcome!
Great video, very helpful! I have the Pyle microphone you recommended-for the price, it's amazing.
I have a hard time seeing it being beat at that price point!
Great info brother Max! 🥰
Amira!! Thank you so much :)
Great tip on the Pyle mic, I hope someday I'm gonna be able to have a studio again. Great vid Max, thank you!
I hope you will too, Jonathan! Thanks!
great video. i got a set of pyle mic and yes for the price they are realy good
Cool! And yeah, they absolutely are!
Cool video Max way to pass on your information!!
I gladly share everything I know, haha! Glad it's appreciated!
Hopefully someday.. I can have all that stuff like yours😄
If that's what you want, I hope so too! :)
I've been watching your videos non stop. Can you do a spoonman cover? I'd love to see your version of it. Keep rockin' 🤘
That's so fantastic to hear, haha! Thank you. And yeah, that's a great suggestion for the future!
This is a great video Max, you just gave me the idea to do one myself of what I use for my minus ones, equipment is expensive, no doubt about it, especially if you want to emulate a real recording studio audio quality, all I have acquired to date it is extremely expensive to me, yet, it is not quite what the pros (money-able-folks) use. Funny thing is when I was into gigs and playing I never had that much expenses as far as equipment, nothing compared to now that I only play to put stuff in you tube. So once I finish rebuilding my wife's car engine which I am a prisoner now from, i will make a video of the latest things; I have an Stereo Matched pair of AKG C214 for overheads still wrapped in its case, never opened, and also have an Audiotechnica AE2500 for the bass drum which I mounted into a Kelly Shu System, never used either, to try too there is a new 22" Sabian Session Ride Cymbal from Todd Sucherman that I bought merely to collect it because I think only 250 of these will be produced but I still can not get over the sound of current Ride 22" Paragon; the Session Ride comes close but not better in my opinion and it is twice the price! All that could be in a video of the equipment used! Thanks for the video and for your drumming; you are spectacular!
First of all thank you, and thank you for the conversation! And please do make one, I'd love to see it myself, hehe.
Stoked for you to get to try out all of the new stuff. The C214's are definitely incredible and probably my favorite pair of OH mic's between most $100 condensers up to the c414's. It's been a while since I used them though, but they're great! No personal experience with the AE2500, but I love kelly shu systems, hehe.
Hope it all goes well and give me an update later!
@@maxadrums Will do Max!
Yeaa men there is a lot of budget mics on market and sounds very well for the price , I used pdkm7 of pyle pro and it works good. You are a great drummer thats the important 70 %....
There sure are! And hey thank you very much!
I use that same Pyle mic on my bottom snare every day. Great little mic!
That's awesome! Nice :)
I just started with a 2 mic setup (shure SM7b on the kick and an AT2020 as an overhead)
such a great way to introduce yourself to micing drums!
Those are both fantastic mics for sure. That's a solid setup! Any large diaphragm + dynamic is absolutely awesome to start out with.
Man, that's some serious dedication, the camera gear alone costs thousands. I hope you're making money off of your covers.
I don't make any money off of my covers whatsoever! However, through doing covers I've been discovered by people who now take lessons with me or use my transcription services, so in that way it pays off! I haven't invested in all of this gear solely for youtube, and it's also been gear that I've accumulated over the past 15 years, hehe.
@@maxadrums Interesting.
That's what you get with copyrighted material, hehe!
@@maxadrums Yeah, most of the covers I do, they don't pay either. Sometimes really old songs on lower labels that have gone under do. Rare tracks.
Can you tell when will you add 6/8 by blink 182? I cant wait hahaha
Haha, I'm not sure at the moment! :) Sorry!
You forgot your dw 9000 kick pedal 🤓
Haha, whoopsie! And the rest of the hardware, pretty much!
The exact stuff I use on my kit. Lol. I can't complain about it until I get some Earthworks mics.
Haha, oh really!? That's awesome. Care to elaborate? What mics goes where and what interface on your end? hehe.
@@maxadrums Lol. Of course. I'll just have to make my own little video going through the DIY budget rig. Hahahaha.
Haha do it!
Great video mate, defo great mic’s and setup for someone just starting out🤘🏻🥁👌🏻
Thanks, Alan! Yeah for sure! Another way would be to go with a Zoom mic or so, but I think it's great to get used to recording via mics/interfaces/mixing etc! Much more educational and flexible than for instance a Zoom!
Can you upload a video of the 2 mic setup?
Sure thing! I actually bought two for exactly that reason but it hasn't happened yet - so this will get me the kick to do it! Thanks!
