There is an Islamic prophecy that says it will be given back to the Orthodox Christians, and that it was taken by Muslims who were misled by the anti-Christ. It should never have been taken in the first place. Of course notwithstanding prophecies, they can just hand it back, makes no sense to use it as a mosque.

One way to look at it. Sunni Islam is a reformation thats takes away devine lineage while Shia maintains a devine line. Going back to 8th and 9th century how many known Mahdi cults existed that eventually fizzled out or got absorbed into the many Islamic Schisms still in existence today. That could give an indication of the temperature on the ground.
Doing away with Mahdi movements either through religious leaders or political ones under a Quaranic Interpretation reformation would have given the Empire builders better control of ideology. The enter the Hadith and Sira to personify the Muhammad and also add some kingdom building propaganda.

    • @n.31
      @n.31 Před 5 měsíci

What are you talking about 😂 Muslims are either of two denominations: Sunni (87-90%, roughly 1.7 billion people) or Shia. Sunni means following the teachings of all prophets until Mohammed pbuh but worshipping only Allah. Shia are slightly different but we consider them as muslims too. They have taken the political ideology into the religion that they have to have a imam as their leader for their country and religion. They belief also in all the prophets.
It is like the christians are devided into christians, mormons, orthodox christians, evangelic, protestants, catholics who follow the pope and church.
So 90 %of the muslims do not follow the mosque or political leaders or what a imam has to say. We do not even confess our sins to him.
And what is up whit the mahdi syndrome 😂
      He is not our messiah/messih
The messiah is going to be Isa or jesus pbuh.
It is unavoidable that there will come a day that people will have no moral compass, corruption extends over its limits...it is even happening now. Even christianity says that this will happen. The muslims are being persucuted for decades now not only in palestine. Only in Afghanistan, iraq and pakistan they have killed over 1.3 million civillians and this is only a estimation. Not counted are the people who were unrecognizable due to bombing not found under the rubble, missing,....millions of muslims have died over the past 20 years let alone africa who are being slaugthered by so called militians but who are payed by you know who.
Mahdi will be the leader of the army from the muslims when they are gonna be persecuted even more. It has nothing to do with an ideology or the antichrist. As we see know the whole world governments are corrupt and do not have good intentions for humanity. It is only devide and conquer. And at the end it is going to be us also the christians and the real jews against these wicked people. That is unfortunately how it will go according to the predictions of our beloved prophet. Jesus is the messiah and will be sent by God.

From recent lexical analysis of the quranic text it appears that what is referred to as "muhammad" in the quran (which means "the praised one") is not a name but a title which refers to Jesus, as the prophet and messiah.
So early muslims in the quran (not yet called muslims but "mumineen" ie. " believers") were in fact anti-trinitarian christians who accepted Jesus as revered prophet and messiah but rejected his divine nature (this is why in the quran Jesus is always called "Issa ibn Meryam" ( عِيسَى إِبْنُ مَرْيَم ) ie. "Jesus son of Mary", but never "son of God")

I understand your claim but from a morphological standpoint, Emir (أمير) meaning leader or prince, is a derivitive of the root verb Amara (أَمَرَ) 'to command'. In Hebrew it would be spelled as אמיר meaning the top of something or a pinnacle.
In Arabic א is equivalent to أ. While ع, which is used in the names Omar (عمر) and Amr (عمرو), would be equivalent to the Hebrew ע‎. So it has a different semitic root than the word מר‎א.

I'm interested in working out whether Islam is something new an Arab prophet in a desert religion, or something quite familiar a Messianic religion, like Christianity and Islam. That the signature is of messianism and not "prophetism" is an important part of the jigsaw. Identifying the other messianic titles - that are less obvious - is also important. The bottom line is in the 7th century: did Islam begin due to an illiterate man in a desert or was it because they were expecting a messiah: the eividence points to the latter and the tradition is so strong for that, that it has left an imprint in the caliphate right up to modern times.

If I understand the argument correctly, you are saying that Muhammad, and the many variations of the name, are a messianic title; therefore, the historical rulers who received or adopted those names were setting themselves up as messianic figures. Okay, but why should we assume that they were presenting themselves as messianic, as opposed to simply reflecting their reverence for the person they considered their greatest prophet? If the rulers' use of the name is meant to convey messianic promise and meaning, what about the ordinary people who were also using that name? Am I missing something?

    It all makes sense now...
I always asked myself, why, if the Arabs were essentially Romans themselves, would they turn on Constantinople? Simple - because the Jews instigated them to do it! They couldn't sell Judaism to them as most of them were already Christian. They couldn't discount Jesus as he was held by them to be a prophet at the very least. So the next best thing they could do was create a syncretic faith that could unite Jews and Arabs against the Roman enemy of the Jews, without forcing the Arabs to compromise their love of Jesus. The Jews appeared to do rather well under Islamic rule - now we know why!

Economically, literally playing a game of last man standing. The benifits the Arabs were getting, in pay, pension, citizenship, land grands, titles and deeds for fighting were already deminished greatly, before the "Arab revolt". The major sects of Arab Christianity already undergone a scism with the Byzantine Church in the four hundreds. The loyalty of the Arabs ran just as deep as the pockets of the Byzantines. And those pockets were running dry. They would have rebelled, no matter what. They didn't require any instigation, to fight. The instigation only made sure Jerusalem, was the primary target. Otherwise they may have focused on an other city first.

Many thanks for your researches and videos, Mel.
I may have overlooked previous mention on the matter, but wonder what you make of Sebeos’ history, chapter 30 (said to be written in the 7th century; translation by Robert Bedrosian is available online, but his implied annotations are missing). In this chapter, we have, “….Twelve peoples [representing] all the tribes of the Jews assembled at the city of Edessa. When they saw that the Iranian troops had departed and left the city in peace, they [122] closed the gates and fortified themselves. They refused entry to troops of the Roman lordship. Thus Heraclius, emperor of the Byzantines, gave the order to besiege it. When [the Jews] realized that they could not militarily resist him, they promised to make peace. Opening the city gates, they went before him, and [Heraclius] ordered that they should go and stay in their own place. So they departed, taking the road through the desert to Tachkastan to the sons of Ishmael. [The Jews] called [the Arabs] to their aid and familiarized them with the relationship they had through the books of the [Old] Testament. Although [the Arabs] were convinced of their close relationship, they were unable to get a consensus from their multitude, for they were divided from each other by religion. *In that period a certain one of them, a man of the sons of Ishmael named Muhammad, a merchant, became prominent.* A sermon about the Way of Truth, supposedly at God's command, was revealed to them, and [Muhammad] taught them to recognize the God of Abraham, especially since he was informed and knowledgeable about Mosaic history. Because the command had [g104] come from On High, he ordered them all to assemble together and to unite in faith. Abandoning the reverence of vain things, they turned toward the living God, who had appeared to their father, Abraham. Muhammad legislated that they were not to [123] eat carrion, not to drink wine, not to speak falsehoods, and not to commit adultery. He said: ‘God promised that country to Abraham and to his son after him, for eternity. And what had been promised was fulfilled during that time when [God] loved Israel. Now, however, you are the sons of Abraham, and God shall fulfill the promise made to Abraham and his son on you. Only love the God of Abraham, and go and take the country which God gave to your father, Abraham. No one can successfully resist you in war, since God is with you’….”
Here a merchant by name of Muhammad appears to play a key role in persuading his fellow Tachkastan Hagarenes to join forces with the Jews from Edessa: one may get a sense of messianic enthusiasm, or certainly anticipation of great things to come, from the account. This Muhammad is not mentioned later but there is account of subsequent extensive military campaigns. The Ishmaelite king at the time is given as “Amrh ['Umar]”.
PS, I should add that the name that appears in the Armenian text is “Մահմէտ” (Mahmēt).

I believe i read that at least some of the believers who took Jerusalem expected the messiah to come down from heaven as a consequence of their conquest. When Jesus failed to come back, they needed to rationalise this. Hence, their leaders became the messiah. Can't remember where I read that.

It gets worse and worse. As I understand it, current thinking with that religion is that the Messiah will come when the last Jew has been killed.
Current Christian thinking about Jews appears to span a spectrum. The RCC view is that there is no need to evangelise Jews because they are already God's chosen people and that the covenant still applies. Orthodox teaching is that Orthodox Christians the authentic continuation of Temple Judaism and the Jews are invited to "The Feast" together with everyone else.

The name Eli (5941) is not related to Elijah. You are right, Eli עלי is the same as Ali علي
However, Eli begins with ayn and Elijah begins with alef. Eli not related to Elijah as it is in English.
"my God" in Psalm 22 in Aramaic is אלהי. Elijah can be spelled אליה. Perhaps the beginning א of the second אלהי made it sound like Elijah.

Respectfully you just rambled by the end. The Qur’an is an Ebionite-Nazarene book. This has been acknowledged by scholars and Muslims themselves many times over. I agree with the general premise because you’re correct but again respectfully it was just rambling by the end.
Isa Ibn Maryam is the Kingly Messiah according to Islamic tradition and will in the future be the Suffering Messiah as he comes back and dies. For now, as the Qur’an teaches Isa Ibn Maryam is King of the Nasara ie the Nasarenes. Muhammad saw himself as the final prophet before the coming of the Messiah.
After his death, his followers had to figure out. Whys the Messiah not coming? The final verse of the Qur’an gives us the answer.
110:1 When comes (the) Help (of) Allah and the Victory,
110:2 And you see the people entering into (the) religion (of) Allah (in) multitudes.
110:3 Then glorify with (the) praises (of) your Lord and ask His forgiveness. Indeed, He is Oft-Returning.
These three verses are the final verses revealed to Muhammad in order of revelation. It’s a marching order, conquer the world. Spread Islam so that the Messiah may return.
Synonymous with the Great Commission in Christianity. Except one very important difference, Muhammad rejected Christianity. He believed in Jesus but not as the “son of god” or “god himself” rather as the Anointed One, the promised Messiah.
To bring about the Anointed One he believed he and his followers must conquer the world. Read in context and with an open mind this is the most obvious conclusion.
Before I leave and to all, please any questions I’ve been fascinated by this topic for quite some time.
What’s the Injeel? I love this question. Read in context the Qur’an never! Uses the word “Christian” rather it uses Nasara. The Nasara Injeel referred to in the Qur’an is most likely a Jewish-Christian gospel mix of Gnostic and Nazarene texts. Something akin to a “sayings gospel” while Mark, Matthew, Luke and John are entirely rejected as heretical
Then also let me nip 4:157 in the butt, the crucifixion was an illusion. It “happened” in a sense that people saw it but you can’t kill the Word of God. So in the same sentence it didn’t happen. Jesus in Islam is essentially a human being empowered with the spirit of God. 2000 years later, fully alive and waiting for the order to return once the true followers of God (the Believers/Muslims) conquer the world.
Great video any questions please ask I have proof for all my claims.

Looking at the meanings of common names seems to be a very strange way of trying to prove your point. It is more likely that Muhammad was influenced by heretical Christians who were banished by the mainstream Christian community to live on the outskirts of the Byzantine empire, which then included Arabia. (It's interesting to note that one of the very first churches was built in Saudi Arabia, look up the Jubail church). Muhammad's first wife's cousin, Waraqa ibn Nawfal was a Christian Ebionite ascetic / priest and early supporter. The Ebionites Christology is very similar to Islam and even worse for Muhammad, when Waraqah died, it seemed so too did his revelation!

    Hi, Mel,
Great vid, VERY professional. Wondered if you might be interested in my current thinking:
The Qur'an refers to Jesus several times as the 'massih', whilst endorsing the gospel account of his crucifixion, resurrection and ascension (+ refuting Talmud references to the contrary). The Q also agrees with the gospels that Jesus will return as 'a portent of the Hour' and 'a witness against the people of scripture.'
Several 7-8C sources refer to the Qur'an author as the 'Mhmd' (the 'longed for one,' the title especially referencing the temple [per Song of Songs; Ezekiel), and clearly a messianic title. NB in the Q Jesus is presented prophesying Ahmad and in parallel with Mhmd. However, the Q author sees himself as a military leader that will conquer + purify Jerusalem, Allah's viceroy in the earth; v different to his depiction of Jesus.
The key, it seems to me, lies in the Jewish belief in two messiahs, the pure sacrificial Messiah ben Joseph and the powerful and regal Messian ben David who will conquer Jerusalem in preparation for the MbJ's return to it in triumph.
The Q author uses the title masih for the former (Jesus) whilst claiming the latter title (Mhmd) for himself. This explains why the Doctrina Iacobi describes the unnamed Saracen leader of a Saracen-Jewish alliance as preaching the imminent return of Jesus. (Obvs the Q author does not accept the traditional prophecy of the MbD lineage, since he proudly declares himself to be a descendant of Ishmael, but he was quite comfortable being creative in such matters, the Q implying that Jacob was a third son of Abraham, rather than Abraham's grandson through Isaac).
I suggest that after the Q author's mission ended in personal failure, the Q author dying before the Arab conquest of Jerusalem led by his rival, Umar, the Umayyads came to adopt the longstanding Christian view that Jesus is both the sacrificial and royal messiah in one. Hence, after 630s, the term Mhmd, used earlier for the Q author and Arab warrior prophet, comes to be used instead for Jesus (on coins, the DOTR inscription, etc).
Later, obvs, the Abbasids weave an elaborate but entirly invented story of Muhammad ibn Abdallah of Mecca, that confuses and conceals this complex history.

Every major and minor cult in the middle east follows the "fraternity" model, without exception, druze yazdis mandeans alawites assassins (ismailis) bahai...
There is the "human shield" majority who follow folk beliefs but are judged under pettifogging religious law, that has been crudely mashed in. The invading armies would have had instant tribal justice with zero incarceration (in contrast shia urban religious law goes into excruciating detail much more that even sunni)
Then there is a hermetically sealed off elite, who practice secret rites and beliefs and are often from closed bloodlines.
(The thugees of india were externally goddess durga worshipping nominal hindus, for instance and secret annual ritual bandits)
islam is tribal law, and lore, cut and shunted with hair splitting phariseeism.
sufi chiefs and sabbateans are of the same accord across time and space, even many of the laity in these inverted cults have picked up opposite core beliefs, as in reincarnation (druze) for instance in spite of murderous secrecy.
islam is a secret binary, and the majority of umma and elephant in the dark academics have no inkling.

Islam is not a messianic religion. Mohammad is the last, there is no more after that. Quran is the guide. You keep mxing up various concepts from different religions. Various people in Islamic history claimed to be "Mehdi", the guide or leader. That

YAWN. Don't play these stupid, childish word games here, peanut. THE Messiah is a specific, DIVINE figure in the Bible, not just any anointed person. "Cult" and "culture have different etymologies. "Culture comes from the Latin word ""cultura", meaning "cultivation". "Cult" comes from the Latin "cultus", denoting "worshipped/inhabited".

The point is the names of their Caliphs are both Davidic and Messianic in nature. Starting from the first "Muhammad". Also the actions of the first Caliphs i.e. erecting a place of worship on the Temple Mount indicates they understood the prophecy of the 3rd Temple and beginning of the apocalypse. When the apocalypse didn't happen, they switched to creating God's Kingdom on earth which is the caliphate.
The belief in the coming Messiah is common across all three religions.

From my recollection, according to the Standard Islamic Narrative, Muhammed was first known as Al Amin, the trustworthy. Although this is pronounced differently to 'Ameen'. Muslims however use the word Ameen, to end prayers, in a similar way to Christians use 'Ah Men'. I always found it quite strange that Muslims would call their sons Muhammed and Spanish people would call their sons Jesus. It seems counter intuitive

    • @mysotiras21
      @mysotiras21 Před 5 měsíci

Counter intuitive that "Jesus" is a given name in Spanish, since this is the earthly name of God Incarnate. To my knowledge, Spanish is the only language that does this. Not counterintuitive that "Muhammad" is so popular a name in Islam, since that is the name of Islam's mythical human founder.
