- The Batanga Cocktail was created in 1961 in the town of Tequila, Mexico. Don Javier Geldago created the Batanga at the bat he ownes/batrends called the Capilla Cantina. It is similar tou the Cuba Libre in the fact that it is coke, lime juice and tequila instead of rum. But what setsit apart is the salt on the rim. The salt can be added to the drink itself. Simple easy and well balamnced it is definitely worth making. Try it out, and let me know what you think.

Almost every time I watch one of your videos I try the cocktail. It gives me something to look forward to after work.
Thank you, I'm glad you like them. WHat's been you favorite so far?
@@boozeontherocksThat’s a tough question. It just depends on my mood
Nice and easy drink. Have a great week. Don't forget to stir it with the same knife, not ice.
lol.... but I like to stir it with my ice.
@@boozeontherockshey David can you make the cocktail that’s dropped in the song caribou Lou by tech n9ne

Love these simple made drinks 🍸
Thank you Sheryl, Simple is best.
Definitely one of my favorites as an old guy 😂😂😂
It's pretty good I must admit.
Really good cocktail, the wife loves tequila, so she will love this one. Nice one David🍸🍹
Thank you. I'm glad she likes it.
Don Javier was the owner and bartender of the place for at least six decades , isn't it!?!? 😮
It is kind of a Margarita meets a Cuba libre....Batanga is the kind best mix of both drinks. 👍
Simple , quick and definitely delicious... Love it👋👋👋
Cocktail perfect for on a hot summer's day. 💗
You are right Liana! And its a great drink too.
Great video, fast and simple. Thank you David
Your very welcome Eric. I hope you like it.
🎉Awesome!
Thank you Katherine.
Only heard about this 6 months ago, but it quickly became one of my favourite highballs 😃 Tequila and Coke sounds weird, but tastes great
I agrre, Its better than it sounds.
It's very surprising that tequila can be mix with some juice or cola! Always a pleasure to see your videos. Have a nice week😊
Thank you, have a great week as well.
So delicious and one of my very first tequila drinks! You can try it with the Coconut flavored tequila, too.
That sounds like a great idea.
Now i know the name of the coke and tequila drink!!
It is a good drink :)
It’s crazy that this cocktail has been around for so long but never made it up to the states until now. I have yet to try it, but it’s on my list. I heard that using the Jarritos Mexican cola and a dash of two of angostura is a great way to change up the platform. Cheers!
That is a great idea to try.
Sounds terrific!!
Thank you Christine, Its quite good.
Check out Steve the Bartender's riff on a Cameron's Kick!! - a split base of scotch and Irish whiskey!! - that is right up my alley for a delicious cocktail! My tastes/preferences have changed and I am focusing on scotch, Irish whiskey and occasionally a terrific Bourbon or Rye in cocktails. For the most part I have a cocktail with my fave spirits or a delicious dram or two of a single malt scotch or an Irish whiskey. Love them - pricey as I am collecting and scotch prices are going up by the day but it's worth it! Cheers!
@@christinecamley Hi Christine, I did watch it its really cood. This is the one I did. czcams.com/video/WdvoT5ym2rc/video.html Both are fantastic.
After the day I had I need something stronger like everclear lol JK anywho that looks awesome great video my friend really enjoyed it...thx for sharing 😊
Your welcome Sharrie :)
What's the difference between Mexican Coke and regular Coke?
Good question. American Coke is made with High Fructose sugar and Mexican Coke is made with Sugar Cane. Thae gives a more natural flavour to the coke.
Dave, is the Batanga basically a Cuba Libre just with tequila and a salt rim? Either way I got some Olmeca on hand so I'm gonna try it right away 🤔
Yes, its basically the same. Either way, let me know which one you prefer most.
@@boozeontherocks so I did the Batanga and I must say it's nice, but nothing more. I really do prefer the Cuba Libre but I'm more of a rum guy than a tequila guy🤷
@@RPT02GR That's fair
Apparently this all the hype these days
I guess will have to try it
HI Nick, let me know what you think.
Oooo it’s a Mexi-libre…. LoL
That it is Paul :)
A nice alternative to rum and coke
Absolutely, it is very easy to drink.
DAVID!!! This looks like an interesting sip!!! I'll def give this a go!!! CHEERS brother!!!
