WTF?? I was going to buy a sample pair of trunks, then they tried adding THIRTEEN QUID shipping! It's a pair of undercrackers, not a paving slab!!.... I cancelled the order. Simon, have a word with them!!
There might be a market for the ones you got on atm Simon. It's 2023, and theres alot of phreaks out there
The ads with used ones are for the only fans.
This is meant as a joke, but there probably enough crazy fans out there to make it viable.
I'd like to add that Sheath also make underwear for Ladies. My better half loves them

Historical sites destroyed during warfare is bad enough, but the intentional destruction of these places just makes me sad and angry all at once.
Especially when done in the name of religion.
Still going on.
@@Pushing_PixelsConsidering that both Christians and Europeans have done they share of that they don't have reason to act like they are better than middle eastern muslims.
Exactly, pains me to say this but countless such architectural pieces were deliberate destroyed during the medical period in India, some if which include the Somnath Temple, Nalanda University and irreparable damage to countless other temples.
@@Mecha82 Well, better in the sense that they went through the Enlightenment Period; developed a more robust and diverse approach to philosophy; created secular, pluralist, democratic societies, and aren't still stuck in a medieval mindset. Of course, there's extremists in all religions, and there are probably Christians who would like to destroy stuff they think is heretical. But they generally aren't going around killing everybody who contradicts them or criticizes them, or apostates, or just people of other religions because jihad, and they usually don't get to run whole countries, so better in that way too.
The destruction of Palmyra is truly truly devastating, the history lost was so unique and priceless
No mention of the Allies( British) bombing of the ancient city of Pompeii.
The Allies dropped about 400 bombs on Pompeii.....apparently afraid that 2,000 year old Romans would rise from their graves and attack the Allied forces.
I know nothing can replace the splendor of the original Parthenon, but there’s a full-scale replica that was actually directly cast from the original pillars located in Nashville, Tennessee. It even has a full-scale replica of the statue of Athena inside. It’s definitely a cool thing to see in Nashville and I highly recommend checking it out!
What's this place called?
I was just thinking I could do with a holiday, where might I find this place?
It’s called “The Parthenon”😂 just google Parthenon Nashville and you can’t miss it.
Might as well take others history when you lack your own.
@@janinebarry2694 Aww someone has an inferiority complex.
My husband and I went on a tour through Belgium over the summer and stopped in Ypres. We went to many graveyards, memorials, and the remnants of a trench. The most moving was the Last Post ceremony still held in Ypres daily. The gate was undergoing restoration, so I'd like to go back some day
Just saw the Parthenon this summer. Absolutely stunning and so much bigger than I thought it was. A hell of a hike up to it too makes you really feel like you earn the sight
Our Archaeo. Society did a magnetometer survey of the site of a long barrow here in the UK. The barrow was still visible in the 1930s but was bulldozed during the construction of a D Day fighter base for the USAAF. At the time, one of the local historians asked the Officer in charge if he was really going to destroy the barrow, to which he replied "Don't worry, we'll put it back after the war!"
The Parthenon was literally the most beautiful building ever, so somebody filled it with gunpowder, and it went bang.
Nah Indian temples are the most beautiful by far.
@@jonnywatts2970nah Notre Dame Cathedral blows them both out of the water.
@OP
You obviously don't understand what literally means...
It was probably the most water proof. Gotta keep that powder dry.
@@YusufGinnahyou literally don't understand what obviously means.
The ones wich saddened me the most were the destruction of the Fossils of the Aegyptosaurus and the Pleasure Palace Boats of Caligula during WW2, such a waste 😕
Wasn't there a near-complete (and the only one) skeleton of a Spinosaurus somewhere in Egypt too? I don't know about the location, but the fossil that was almost complete, I know was blown to smithereens during WWII by the Germans (Axis Powers).
I was very sad to find out many castles weren't crumbled by time, but destroyed by warfare in relatively modern times. 500+ yr old structures gone, turned into unrestorable piles of rubble
Well, in all fairness warfare is what castles were designed for
All castles should have been blown up before they were finished. A Monarchy of any kind should be dismantled piece by piece. That goes the same for any church or religious site, the church tricks simple minded people out of their $, the Monarchy flat out steals it.
Interestingly, Hasting Castle in Sussex in England, was not destroyed by cannons during the English Civil War. It had large parts, fall off the cliff it stands on, into the sea, during the late middle ages, during a large storm. Which is why it's a ruin.
People suck
It's really the "modern" part that's the worst. Castles were built for warfare in an era that has long passed into memory, yet some people, by negligence, recklessness, or anger, refuse to let that memory live on. Grand structures built to last forever, turned to dust by idiots who see their own foolish ambitions as superseding the last remnants of the cultures of the past.
It's sad what people do to other people.
Several of Japan's most famous castles were rebuilt from scratch after being totally destroyed in WWII
That’s why they forgot they were attacked by nonblack people ? 🤔⁉️
Same like Dresden, I like that they tried to rebuild it and didnt plastered it over with commie blocks.
Pearl Harbor also was rebuilt after was bombed by non whites
The fuck are you saying
Not unlike Warsaw Cathedral which was bombed by the Germans.
That was a German flag Simon not a Dutch flag lol.
Dutch, Deutch, Simon doesn't know the difference.
DUTCHLAND
DUTCHLAND, DUTCHLAND, SPEAK IN IRISH
I DON'T THINK YOU COMPREHEND
THIS IS REALLY OUR LANDS _FLAGGE_
AND WE COME FROM THIS BACKGROUND:
SPEAK IN IRISH, WRITE IN GERMAN
CALL OURSELVES DUTCH, BEING AUSTRIAN
(DUTCHLAND, DUTCHLAND WE'RE CONFLICTED
BUT WE STILL HAVE AN ANTHEM) x2
I was wondering if anyone else caught that 😂
@@freedomgoddessis that meant to make sense?
I love how the video, being out for 7 minutes, already has comments congratulating it on how good it was. An 18 minute video.
thats tech of the day for you we watch things so much and so often , we watch it at light speed .... or youtube's algorithm is dying a slow death and nothing you see is as it seems or represents reality in anyway . youtube has been dying a slow death for a long time now this is just more proof of that.
Lol lots of people have it on 2x speed, I guess
Patreon
Nah - some of us tick it to ensure we don’t watch it again!
clairvoyants
In expanding its iron ore mine in Western Pilbara, Rio Tinto blasted the Juukan Gorge 1 and 2 - Aboriginal rock shelters dating back 46,000 years. These sites had deep historical and cultural significance. And they were authorised to do so. Different kind of war, different kind of ruin. Significant history and culture still lost forever
My grandfather was in the battle of Monte Cassino and saw the church being bombed. He was a lineman in the Signal Corp and was shot twice in the right shoulder and arm.
My husband's father was at Monte Cassino, too. He operated a flamethrower and managed to not be injured.
How do you lose a 38 foot statue? You don't. You destroy it.
was it a statue of a centipede or something?
Statue of Athena. 38 feet tall gold plated. Never seen again after being moved . I bet it “fell off the truck “ near some kings palace or the Vatican somewhere
@@MusicalRaichu 😂😂 good one!
Lost underneath the cushion of the sofa so it was…
Probably looted during the Crusader sack of Constantinople, assuming the Byzantines hadn't already destroyed it.
I remember hearing about Palmyra’s destruction on the news and was horrified. Seeing the pictures again now, and learning more about what those lying, cowardly, duplicitous b@st*rds did to it, I admit I audibly gasped several times while watching this video. Just horrible. And these same “people” did the same thing to Nineveh, Babylon, and other sites in Iraq and Syria, places of great cultural and historical significance…I hope archaeologists can repair those places, too.
One of my favorite subjects, there are so many things we’ve lost due to sometimes senseless and necessary violence and we’ve got to make sure to try our hardest to not let them vanish from history..
1:07 lol simon… that’s the German flag… 🇳🇱 the dutch and the ol’ VOC mentalitie
The 'Dutch' flag on time stamp 1.06 is the German one ;-)
Well…at some dark point in history the Netherlands had been part of Germany for a while…or the 3rd Reich. So, technically… 🤷♂️ but yeah, the flag is still wrong 😉
So that statue of Athena went missing in Constantinople during the crusades, has anyone thought of just checking in the British museums basement? Might be worth a check.
Try the Vatican Vaults first
Let's see. Ah, here's the ark of the covenant, and the holy grail. Goddamn brits.
@@pikachuchujelly7628 Fools. Bureaucratic fools.
There is a full sized reconstruction of the Parthenon in Nashville, Tenn, USA
The Nashville 100% scale model is made from concrete, and has a full sized model of the statue of Athena clad in 8 pounds of gold.
I wrote about Palmyrene destruction I think two years ago for an assignment. I was really impressed with their distinct style and was sad to hear so much had been destroyed. Luckily some of it has been digitized and scanned at of U of M
Thank you Sideprojects team
most of warsaw after ww 2, although most of it was rebuild still there are some places that doesn't exist now, for example the Saxon Palace
Yeah, unfortunately the communist government at the time wasn't interested in palaces; more concrete
@1:06 DUTCH?! That's a German flag! Rookie mistake, editor, rookie mistake.
A mistake that basically invalidates everything in the rest of the video. If they do their research at this level (even getting a flag completely wrong) then the rest of the video must also be full of errors.
@@Junyothat’s a bit harsh, the rest of the video was pretty much spot on
@@Junyohis editor for this one video could speak multiple languages and have simply accidentally spelt “Dutch” as “Deutsch” which would have brought up a German flag. Fyi Simon has more than 1 editor and writer.
@@Junyo i am german and i didn't find that mistake very funny, but nonetheless, black_hand is right, the one that put the german flag in the video is the editor, it is no.3 in the chain and he/she has nothing to do with the research/script.
Somewhere, on one of the channels there is an old video in which Simon explains their workflow.
@Junyo you're not the sharpest tool. Visual editing is the very last step of a video. Tossing in tiny details like a flag is the last step within the visual editing. This is the standard for almost every single channel on the internet.
Seems about what i'd expect from humanity, yes.
this makes me so fkin angry, like those ancient sites in iraq which were destroyed.
Thanks Simon, appreciated. 👍
This video will physically make me unbelievably angry idk if I can watch it. There is no bigger crime than destroying the history of ourselves
The recovery and subsequent WW2 destruction of Roman Emperor Caligula’s ships in lake Nemi makes for fascinating reading.
You are an orphan for a reason...
@@Hypogeal-Foundation - Thank you for replying to my comment regarding Caligula’s ships.
The reason is because both my parents were killed.
Anyway, what’s that got to to with my comment and the topic of the video? Please explain in detail. (Bearing in mind that CZcams states that comments should be ‘polite and on-topic’).
I look forward to reading your detailed explanation of how your reply relates to the subject. (CZcams moderators may also be interested in your initial reply, I’ll let them know).
Wow his pronunciation during nalanda bit was just outstanding 😂😂😂
I was quite amazed by his pronunciation of 'Lakenhal' being so accurate, very un-Simon-like 😂
Don't forget that the temple in Jerusaleum was destroyed by Roman soldiers
Before that, the Babylonians destroyed it.
Awesome! I suggested this idea on the isis video released four days ago. Im sure its been in the works before then, but quite literally the video Ive been waiting for! Love it!
1:06: "the dutch"
**shows german flag**
Awesome 😂👍
How many channels is Simon on? There has to be clones of him in a wear house that just talk for hours just recording script after script until the editor finds CZcams gold. This sounds like the start to a good movie. The editor running the Simon’s would be an evil empire using CZcams ad revenue to pay for their world domination.
Please someone make this, I would watch it thanks
Good information 😊😊
Imagine fighting a war to get a country addicted to drugs.
Ya, the UK has been the worst thing to ever happen. Even today it's just garbage that thinks it's gold
I kind of wish the world had been able to fund the full restoration of the Syrian site. If possible rebuild it to what buildings were like before they became ruins .. if for no other reason than to give on huge middle finger to isis.
Daesh, do not call them ISIS. ISIS is a Kemet Goddess that represents Healing and Magic.
I'm surprised that the destruction of the Great Library of Alexandria didn't make the cut
I wish success to those willing and able to restore these sites
nice video!
I got distracted by Simons yellow sock 😂
why is this channel SO LOUD good god
At least there is a replica Parthenon, complete with giant Athena, in Nashville, TN!
Great vid Simon it’s so sad seeing all the destroyed history was looking for a video that compiled destroyed historical monuments and other historical things it’s a punch in the gut like melting down old silver coins
Surprised you didn't include the library of Alexandria. When it was burned, we don't even know what knowledge we lost.
1:07 while "the Dutch" have used those colours in flags before, I'm pretty sure thats the modern German flag - the Austrian flag (one of the factories) was at the time horizontal black and yellow - but not a tri colour.
Mount Casino should be in this list
With nuclear weapons and sea level rise from global warming, I don't expect a lot of the historical fabric of the world to survive beyond the next couple of hundred years.. Makes you proud to be a human.
"The British, French and Dutch...."
Shows the Union Jack, the French flag, and...... a modern German flag......
I would really love to see a movie about the Opium Wars.
Franklin ' Drug Money' Roosevelt was the grandson of Delano.
Delano made a fortune shipping Opium from Afgan to China during the Opium Wars.
Sooo...Roosevelt was the grandson of the worlds greatest Opium runners.
15:30 - This 1 especially 🙁
Such a big loss
you didnt even mention there is a 1 to 1 replica of the Parthenon in Nashville Tennessee built in 1897. they even have a 42 foot statue of Athena
Let’s fucking go I needed to find something to watch immediately
I love syria 🇸🇾 and its history. Its so beautiful but sad. But ill tell you the people are so nice and emotionally strong
I think the burning of Persepolis by Alexander was a huge loss
And Troy by the Greeks
It was one of my relatives, a Swedish field marshal and mercenary, von Königsmarck, who commanded the army who laid siege to Athens and managed to blow up Parthenon.☺
To note, it was the French troops who looted the Summer Palace and the British partially destroyed it after the Chinese had taken some hostages. It was further destroyed by the Chinese.
0:30: 💣 Warfare has resulted in the destruction of many priceless ancient sites around the world.
3:54: 🏰 The Western Powers attacked the Qing Dynasty and burned down the Old Summer Palace, looting ancient treasures and artifacts.
7:33: 📚 The video discusses the rise and fall of the Khwarazmian Empire in Central Asia and its impact on the Nalanda University.

15:30: 🏛 The ancient city of Palmyra in Syria is a rich archaeological site with artifacts dating back to the Neolithic period.
Recap by Tammy AI
1:06 would be nice if you could...
Interesting historical fact ; the sender of the British Navy, during the Opium Wars, was the notriously jingoistic British Foreign Minister Lord Palmerston, later Prime Minister, whom the cat, from the Foriegn Office, who was bested by Larry the Downing Street cat, was named after.
The loss of Nalanda Mahavihara is one of the largest loss to ancient indian academics.
There are also some records that khiljis forces were defeated by King Prithu who came from what is today the State of Assam.
Thanks to fate Pantheon ain't been subject to boom boom
Always love watching your channels, keep up the good work.
1:06 when the voice says Dutch but the screen shows Deutsch 😂
1:07 is german flag and not dutch boys. We are your neighbors 😅
Ypres is named in another book. Ypres, Love. Lolz
I thought you would mention Cassino in WW2
i cannot tell if Simon is the worlds greatest trololol or a complete genius so i choose both :D
well done sir, well done
The destruction of Palmyra ticks me off the most, the others they happened long ago and could almost be forgiven to ignorance. Palmyra though, was just religious lunacy taken to eleven.
Chinese "Junks"
Not "Junkers" 🤷 This is the second Simon video that I've heard this in
They might as well have been called hunks of junk considering how poorly they did.
Well, the allies also shelled Ypres.
Isis destroyed something that was older than their damn religion like WTF. Palmyra and the Parthenon were beautiful structures that we can't get back.
I'm sure that was to provoke anger so the other side would fight. I'm assuming your talking about the structure that was built into the side of the hill. I get if it was a accident but that was deliberate.
Oh no, not unlike what the Americans did in Iraq and Afghanistan(!)
@taiyabmahmood8274 still banging on about that. That's so 1980s. Might as well be complaining about Hitler. It's only been 90 years since he was voted in, but hay. Let's keep complaining about something that happened nearly 100 years ago.
Was that the Dutch flag or the current German flag?
What have I missed? Where is the Casual Criminalist? I'm having withdrawals. 😭😵💫😭

Palmyra wasn’t destroyed by warfare but with sheer stupidity similar to giant Buddha statue in Afghanistan.
Why are the snow flurries added to the footage?
You forgot about the kanishka stupa and taxila university bruhhhhhh
Christians destroying the temple of Artemis not only once but twice is such a travesty
Ubisoft did a great job reconstructing the Parthenon in AC Odyssey

sorry maybe I missed it but did you mention the ever so ancient Budda statues which were pulverised in Afghanistan about 20 years ago?
He already made a video mentioning that one.
Change the Dutch flag in your "summer palace" item, you show the German one.
Never trust the treaties
The British destroyed the Benin wall which was 3 times longer than the Chinese wall.
Ypres... I didn't know it was pronounded "EePray." I always thought it was YipeRees.
