Tropical Storm Ampil approaches Japan

- Tropical Storm Ampil is nearing typhoon status and then a rapid intensification phase is expected to occur few hours afterwards, reaching high-end Category 3 status (could be stronger). Japan's eastern coast is expected to receive some impacts from the storm and a potential threat for storm surge, flooding and high rainfall accumulations are on the table.

I can tell it looks like a category 1 typhoon.
Really hoping it won't destroy the power grids. Daily highs of 41C without AC is a nightmare
I live in South Florida and when Irma hit we lost power for about 3-4 days. Not having AC was easily the worst part of the whole ordeal.
I really hope Ampil doesn’t become Faxai part 2…
Sadly but Ampil's track is kind of close to Japan but i think it will only be a Cat 3, maybe not Faxai. But Tokage's destructive twin and if this happens its mom (Bopha) will be proud.

It already looks like a high-end Category 1, the eye forming is one support, idk why the agencies hasn't upgraded Ampil yet
