Mate had same issue with my yammy 20 prime the bulb pull a couple times disconnect the fuel line from the motor till it starts then plug it back in will run mint every time no dramas

Iâm seems like the motor wasnât taking in fuel and took a tiny bit then wouldnât continue drinking it and thatâs why it died other solutions probably low spark or main jet has got some grime in there
If say you have/had an air leak somewhere in the fuel system

After seeing that puff of smoke im wondering if the Carby floats are stuck and it's flooding the cly when it's not running , if it does it again try starting it up why U have the throttle wide open to clear out the cly of fuel

My old 2003 yammy 15 hp starts first pop. The only time I had problems like this just like this actually I had water in my fuel. I drained the fuel compressor and brake cleaner to clean tank carbi and fuel lines. She is still first pop to this day.
No crabs doesn't matter mate, there'll be other days, Gus is a real character and my daughter said he's gorgeous, hope motor issues are fixed brother, goodluck fishing đ·đ

I bought a 2 stoke 55hp for a carton with electric start and tilt and trim lol. So anything is possible

I got rid of my 2-strokes. I now run TOHATSU 4-strokes. Quiet, fuel efficient and they ALWAYS start up and run. I do use 100LL Aviation fuel in them(advantage of being a pilot). A 9.8hp on the 14' tin fishing boat. The 2 strokes may of had a small edge of in the performance area, but the 4 stokes get double the fuel economy.

try loosening the air breather on your tank ..... just sayin losen when gettin in the boat tighten when gettin out ....Runs then stops wont rev all the symptoms' of a the diapram fuel pump on the way out . Only use 98 aswell do not use E10 make the diaphragm go crispy
Yeah I always use 98, and the breather was open. Once it ran for a while it was sweet for the rest of the day
