Man I went here so many times as a kid. Never went on the coasters, can't stand high speeds and such but I loved the funhouse and the games not to mention the food and the atmosphere in general is just cozy. It's strangely heartwarming hearing such a glowing review of a childhood staple for me
They have really made a lot out of the available area and nothing looks like a bad compromise. The new expansion is very beautiful and will even step up the game in the coaster thrill department.
I love that they got a Giant Flying Carpet ride. The sound it makes as it goes down is amazing. I love it when it pauses on top before flipping direction. Weird Al would approve.
This could possibly be the best boardwalk style/seaside park in the world if you're only comparing it to parks like the ones on the Jersey Shore or the California coaster and not ones like Cedar Point.
I love the atmosphere too! My grandparents which live near Stockholm usually go there just to take an ice cream and walk around the park without riding anything, shame that the prices have gone up so much though
The concerts have great artists and you can get a season pass for 395 kr that lets you get into the park any time you want. This summers (2024) lineup includes: Alice Cooper, Keane, Bruce Dickinson, The Offspring, Ellen Kraus, Heart, Hellacopters, Dropkick Murphys, Deep Purple, Mando Diao, Alphaville and Dizzy. There are lots of smaller - often Swedish - artists too.
Welcome back..about 2 years from now😅 they are gonna extend and make it even better with boardwalks etc!👍💯🌹 For 2024 season..you got new entry pays and offer wristband or single ride tickets ..thats like it exactly before the covid pandemy resteictions👍
Also a good thing to know. They increase the public transport during events. I went to see My chemical romance and there were more trams and bus departures after the show. The wait time for the boats also decreased. I managed to get home before midnight
All the names were impossible to understand if you didn't have subtitles, but not easy when you don't know how Swedish is pronounced or how the Swedish letters ÅÄÖ sound. I haven't been to Gröna Lund since I was a child, so it was interesting to see what the park looks like today. Very good work.
@@CanobieCoaster Don't be sorry. As a Swede, it sounded a bit comical, but you did the best you could. I wouldn't have done it better if I tried to pronounce names in a language I don't know. Keep doing what you're doing, mispronounced names just add charm.
Reminds me of the scenario "Dinky Park" from RCT where you were given a small park and have to fit in as many rides as you can without being able to buy extra land for your park
I compare it to Canobie Lake Park--if you nestled Gröna Lund into the L formed by the Yankee Cannonball, it would extend about as far south as Canobie's entrance gate.
Gröna Lund used to have a water ride, although it was later removed to fit in more better rides. Who knows, they might add one later in the future. Gröna Lund have had many interesting rides in the past.
A small correction. One can drive out to the park without any permits. Finding parking however is not trivial. Especially in the future when the park has expanded out into their parking lot. A parking lot that they have wanted to expand out into for decades, eventually the city decided to say yes. The park has gotten a lot more roller coasters in recent years. Jetline were effectively their oldest one, and sadly it won't open again as it will be taken down this winter. Hopefully it gets replaced with something of similar ride duration. Since that were part of the appeal with Jetline, it took a fair bit of time to ride, and given the number of trains it operated at once it churned through the queue at a decent pace. Also, I personally see it as a missed opportunity that Monster doesn't go through Insane, but maybe that were impossible, if only Insane had slightly bigger holes in it. Given how most of the other coasters intermingles with each other, it would have been interesting to see.
I find insane to be the most fun ride in Gröna Lund. I have the gold card so I am there atleast once every two weeks. To have the best ride on insane you have to have a big weight difference.
I read that the accident was due to a faulty part from the manufacture. It was not visible during installation and inspection. Poor quality control probably. Sad!
That is a bit inaccurate, not every swede lives in stockholm and has access to grönalund 7 times per summer. It takes like 5 hours on train to get to stockholm where I live in sweden, so at most once per year if we decide to go to grönalund is maximum that we can do.
Forgot to mention something earlier. That is, the fact that you also have to take into account that most people still have jobs in summer and doesn’t have time to go there in the first place. So many factors, like location and time that makes it impossible for the average swede across the entire country to visit grönalund 7 times per summer.
If you're onsite and have early entry, you need to arrive very early to beat the crowds. I find it most efficient to get in line for Hagrid's right before park close.
the red coaster kvasten on gröna lund is called broom in english and vilda musen is called wild mouse so pls use english words when you are talking about the rides cause its sounds wierd when you try to pronounce it in swedish since you arent a swedish talking person i think🙂
its not grOna lund. How can you not even put in a minimal amount of effort when making an entire video? The letter Ö is not O. Everything about the video is otherwise good but why not even bother trying with the name?
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah, don’t be sorry. Whoever made that comment is a complete tool. We’re generally not arrogant enough to demand that visitors should know the intricacies of our specific alphabet, lol. / Swede
Gronalund is an unsafe death park. Period. Maintained rides don’t derail and kill prople. It’s just yet another park owned by corporate greed that cuts corners for profits and does not care about guest safety.
I was sad to hear about the accident. I haven't felt unsafe there and I'm sure the park/government will make sure something like that doesn't happen again.
The last time someone died at Gröna lund was in 2015 and it wasn't even a ride, guy climbed a railing and jumped 5m instead of taking the stairs. Awfully safe for a death park considering jetline has been standing since 1988 and we know it was manufacturing error that caused the accident, the part that broke was only a month or to into its lifespan.

I'm excited for the expansion.
This is definitely one of my biggest international bucket list parks
It's an awesome park.

It has great Gs.
I don’t know how they managed to fit all the rides and coasters in, however that Vekoma new gen coming next year looks to be their best
Have they confirmed it's a 2025 addition?
@@CanobieCoasterI don’t know all I know is it could be opening in 2025 or 2026
Hi am watching this on my break. I work at Gröna Lund and really enjoyed your video. Loved to hear all the butchered Swedish names. Good video 👍
Glad the mispronounciations brought you joy lol
Been going here since I was a kid. Always nice to hear an outsiders perspective. And I agree, it's great. I hope they nail the expansion.
Me too.
This looks amazing. Monster is so underrated!
It's a great ride.

Awesome to hear!
It was closed because they were swapping out the tracks 👍
Its GrÖna Lund... The Ö isnt optional. O and Ö are two distinctly diffrent letters.
Sorry for the mistake.
They need to replace the zac spin with a Sky Rocket ll.
I like both models.
Going to universal in like 5 days should I rush to hagrids as it gets a long line?

Any news on that derailed coaster. Is it open again?
No. Its future is still unclear.
It is still closed for investigation.
Super sad to hear about the death of a guest in 2023 on Jetline. That's terrible to hear
It was tragic to hear.
I hope after the 2025 vekoma project they can replace Jetline somehow
Is the Vekoma happening that quickly?
Why don’t we have these Gerstlauer Bobsleds here in America
The Gerstlauer Spinner is pretty much a bobsled with spinning cars. So you technically do have bobsleds, just the spinning versions.
Not sure, but I wish we had some.
