I love this version so much because the instrumental and tone of the song feels so celebratory. It fits the intent of this game in the first place, a celebration of Sonics run through the ages and the Sonic series as a whole. This is the most upbeat song in the game and it shows

I was expecting Classic Sonic's Rooftop Run theme to be this overly cheesy sped up version of the original that I wouldn't enjoy at all, but I just love this so much, possibly my favorite modern stage classic remix. Classic Sonic's music does not disappoint!
I love how the first red robot you see in the level on the platform near the beginning bounces with the music. It makes you want to make Sonic dance with him. Ha

I realize this video is 6 years old but I just wanted to say that Rooftop Run (Classic) and Planet Wisp (Classic) were the only two stages I NEVER got an S Rank on. I literally got an S Rank on every other stage except those 2 and now I'll never be able to since the Xbox 360 that had the file on it got thrown out cuz it was dying. Now I have to start over but it's fine. I'll just do it all again and maybe this time I'll get an S Rank on the Classic versions of Rooftop Run and Planet Wisp.
A little tip when you get access the game again, Skills can be used for S-Ranking a level. If it helps, Collect all five red rings in an act and it will unlock a New Skill you can use. Certain missions also unlock skills.
@@idiotontheinternet8113 I WAS using Skills but it still wasn't helping. What Skills would be good to use for the Classic stages? Cuz with the Modern stages, I was using the exact same Skills that BriannuSonic used and they worked wonders. But what about the Classic stages? What Skills should I use?

Honestly, all of the Generations remixes I've heard are slower than the originals. Not necessarily bad songs in their own right, but they're speeding down for a SONIC game. The originals are just better.
JackBurn99 Sonic games had always slower songs on their own right. (Faster is not better, a reason why I think the SA2 version of It doesnt matter sucks)
Let's date back to Marble Zone, Emerald Coast. It was from SA2 that a lot of the music tried to be "faster and cooler". Then Tomoya Otahni exageratted this on 06 with the constant drumbeat sound. Fixed it on Unleashed, made it better on Colors by playing with different tempos. I think they all try to fit into what they want you to do with Sonic: Hey, don't just run like crazy, there's platforming to do.
Crisis City and Planet Wisp pretty sure have faster remixes. (Plus both CC remixes are better than the original IMO)
Besides what's the problem with the songs being slightly slower? (And idk if you're counting bpm or tempo)
dragoncrashhero12 Just because Sonic is moving fast doesn't mean the music has to be fast...if anything, I think the composers were focusing more on setting the vibe for the locations, while still keeping in mind it can't be too slow for a Sonic game. An incredible soundtrack nonetheless c:
