Channel Update - New Camera / Room Tour (Feb 2024)

- A quick face-to-cam video to fill you in on one or two things that are happening with the channel. Just had my 50th birthday & got a new camera for youtube videos. Also a quick tour round the room I do my filming in.

My grandfather bought me it while he was away in the navy.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. That Binatone Pong .. I've only just bought that from ebay. Our family had a second hand one back in 1979. I will be doing a video on those Pong machines in the next couple of months, so one to watch out for.

A belated happy birthday, Steve - hope you have fun with your new toy 😀 Your Pong machine reminds me a lot of a similar console my friends and I unearthed, and then had fun playing with, in a loft at our high school (though that one was called a VideoMaster Strika 2 - I think there must have been a hundred of those things in the late 70s/early 80s, possibly even all rebadged versions of the same thing, though that last part's a guess based on how such things are done now).
And a ViewMaster - that takes me back. The only discs I can remember having for it were Munch Bunch ones, though - not the most exciting 😁
What's your cassette deck, by the way?
Cassette deck is a Technics (I forget the model). I've had it since the early 90s. I've seen SO many of those Pong machine variations on eBay, as you said, but this particular one is the exact Binatone model our family had in 1979. I picked it up last week on eBay for about £15 if you can believe that! Thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a really nice time.
@@RetroSpectives Thanks for answering - ever since starting to watch TechMoan and some other channels years ago I've felt a desire (or possibly need) to identify any old tech whenever I see it 😄 Nice bargain on the Pong machine 👍
